G7-2284nr Pavilion: DVD PLAYER

I have a HP Pavilion g7-2284nr. Number D1C26UA, with Windows 8.1, bought the 13/01/2013. To prepare to accept the download of Windows 10, I found that my Cyberlink media pack has failed to support MPEG-2. The recommended solution is the purchase of an update at $ 49.99. Is this correct? If so should I upgrade all three of my systems before the upgrade to Windows 10 next week?

[Personal information]

Hello

There are many free products around, you need not pack multimedia CyberLink to play MPEG-2 including DVDs, BD is a free tool called VLC, it can play almost all the video formats.

  • Pavilion s5-1234: button s5-1234 Pavilion not not opening DVD player

A customer brought me a Pavilion s5-1234 with a dead hard drive to be replaced. I replaced the drive and ready to reinstall the OS, but pressing the eject button on the front panel has nothing. I was able to open the front cover and press eject directly on the drive manually and it works beautifully.  I can't see any type of mechanical connectivity related to the button from the front before activating the drive, so I'm puzzled as to why it does not work. It is obviously the original DVD drive that came with the unit.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Too bad, people!  The cable of the activation of the switch of the Panel front and DVD player had been disconnected when you remove the hard drive.  I missed it when he put it back together.  Once connected, all is well with the world!

  • Is there guidance on the installation of a second DVD player on the p6280t Pavilion?

I would like to install a second DVD player in my PC, but because most DVD players have their own door opening, like the PC, should I buy a HP drive, or there at - there a way to disable the built in door?  Are there written policies of this?  I have installed additional disks on other computers, but none of them had built in door and built-in open button.  Thank you.  Mike

Here are the specifications and factory configurable options for your desktop HP Pavilion p6280t CTO. Please consult this guide HP titled "adding or replacing a CD or a DVD player. Just follow the instructions in the guide mentioned above and place the new drive into the open slot. Any SATA optical drive with a load of 'plateau' should work fine. The houses of coverage, two drive doors get opened by the drive platters and the external release buttons press the eject button on the actual readers.

Windows 10 won't come with a good media player, you have to pay for Windows Media Center. He will probably kill on your machine the player from CyberLink software too. Pouvez be able to re - install using CyberLink Media Player:

    Hello

I checked the 'Computer' tab and the CD/DVD drive appeared. I inserted a blank CD in the drive and iTunes came and immediately delivered a msg of error than Win registry entries this iTumes needs had disappeared. I guess it was because I deleted the "top of the registry. The iTunes error msg says to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it. When I did that it worked and I was able to see and use the CD/DVD player and everything seems to work now.

I had a problem with iTunes, after that I installed Windows 8.1 & also updated iTunes to 11.1.4 a few days after the Win update 8.1. iTunes does not recognize my iPhone4 and I had to uninstall & re-install iTunes, there was a problem with the iTunes re - install that required me to uninstall all THE programs Apple (Support Mobile, etc.) and re - install iTunes more assocated programs. I got it all works and then noticed the problem of CD/DVD.

I think that the first iTunes re - install that was a problem as corrupt Windows registry for this region that iTunes uses to access the CD/DVD drive.

The resolution of the problem by removing the ' superior in the register of Win and re - install iTunes seems to have solved the problem of CD/DVD!

Thanks for your help, patience and cooperation. I really appreciate it.

    See you soon... John

  • Pavilion dv6-6c53cl: dvd player not working not not after restoring - all missing drivers, does not appear in Device Manager

Recently, I have restored my computer dvd6-6c63cl of flag State 'out of the box.  The dvd drive no longer works.  When you put a CD, you can hear him swirling but the screen does not open.  In addition, in the Device Manager section, dvd is not listed.  I think that I need the drivers, but I did have luck to find them on hp.com (just a recovery disc, you can order).

I tried some of the solutions on this forum for other computers, but is it didn't work (FixIt) or things in the registry (filters) were not there and one was something that was 32-bit and since it's 64-bit, I was afraid to try it.  Clearly, I don't know enough about computers.

In which case it is important, I recently had my fan replaced and do not know if the dvd player worked after that.  Obviously not used often.

You can provide any help would be greatly appreciated.  The computer is 3 years old so I don't want to add 'guaranteed' type plans, but at the same time, I don't want to replace the computer for something so little.  The restoration of fixed the problems I had (internets public wouldn't connect and updates did not exist).  Thank you!

You may consider replacing the internal DVD player or using an external DVD burner.

The unit is a HP PAVILION p6107uk desktop pc. When the cd is inserted pc tries to read for about 30 seconds then silence.right click on results of dvd player in windows explorer freezing.as soon the disc is ejected Explorer is ok.apart of the records of restorations that I tried to uninstall the drive and reinstalling, diagnostic tools can not read drive when the cd is inserted , but is very good with dvd.software updated controls say that my dvd drive is up to date. DVD player is a HL-DT-ST-DVD RAM GH40L.

I am considering buying a new dvd player to see if that solves it, but all hoping a met and solved this problem before

The player uses different devices for the CD DVD vs.  It could be the laser and/or material for the part CD failed.  DVD players are cheap now, so a replacement won't cost you too much.  I see that the specifications indicate that the current drive has lightscribe, then choose a replacement that has this feature if necessary.

  • Region code of the DVD player

The DVD on my Pavilion A1375A Media Center PC drive is set to region 1 - I am in Australia (region 4).

    I can't set it to region 4.

I asked HP to sell me a new DVD player, but they do not know what the new discs region code will be and asked that I contact Microsoft and ask:

    (a) area code would change once a factory of re - configure?

    (b) what would be the new replacement drive region code?

It seems strange to me that HP can't?

    Hello

You must talk to people bad at HP since it is not Windows that
decides what optical drives of regions are defined.  HP provides probably hundreds
readers of your region (really the thousands).

    It is by design.

You can buy devices that claim to be region free and software that claims to
in order to allow other regions to read even if I have no experience
    with those.
