• Windows 7 Gadget weather Eye is not finding the place or show

  I have been using the Eye weather Gadget on my desktop. After trying to find a new location, the weather eye gadget would not find any location and view. I tried to uninstall and re - install the gadget and it does not display. It works on other computers, but it no longer works on my home computer where I used the Gadget weather eye for a long time. Does anyone have a solution so that I can start using the same eye weather Gadget again? It is a common instrument. My other gadgets all work fine.

• Why isn't my gadget weather access to the server?

  Maybe this isn't really a problem in Mozilla (it just occurred to me). I selected Gadgets in the right click menu on my desktop (Dell with Windows 7) and selected the weather gadget. It worked fine for months, but about six days ago he ceased to update when I turned on my modem.   Try to delete everything in this folder (but not the folder itself): C:\Users\s \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Window Live\Services\Cache\weather.  I saw a post where it worked for someone else (and obviously others or it would not have been suggested).

  If this does not work, try to change the gadget to another location and see if it works there.  If so (or if not), then change it back and see if it works now again as it should.

  Reset you the weather gadget? By reset, I mean - shut down (close it) and then add it again. Might work as it does with Notes: course notes are deleted when you close the gadget / current weather parameters are ignored. It's worth a try if you have not already tried it.

  BTW, Internet Explorer works?  I read somewhere that if it wasn't (although Firefox or Chrome or something else was), then some of the gadgets would be updated.

  my weather gadget has stopped working recently. Now when I try to restart it quickly shows the time and then it disappears and it says "service not available" all of the gadgets seem to work well.

• Vista Sidebar Gadget weather "Service unavailable".

  Recently the weather gadget for windows sidebar did not work at all. It keeps saying "Service unavailable". As I am posting this now, I clearly have internet connection. I tried all the advice given by experts on the subject a user displayed on its own problems with the gadget and none have worked. I even tried to download a different Weatherbug weather gadget and this one does not work either! Why is the weather windows gadget refuses to work? Is there a problem with it? Thank you!

  for a 2nd page SideBar? Have you checked the firewall to make sure the sidebar and Gadgets can access
  for the net?

  I have a problem with the Windows 7 time Gadget not updating, steps, I tried to solve this problem.

  Uninstall and restore the Windows Gadgets
  Use another account
  Change the area I'm weather (this updated for this other area)
  Another gadget using weather (was nowhere near as accurate or good as the windows one)

  It seems to be stuck on the 11 degrees and sunny 24 hours a day

  If anyone has any suggestions I'm listening

  Thanks for your response, but simply using a Gadget different does not solve the problem I have, I want to use this Gadget

  I fixed it myself by removing the cache for all the gadgets and then reinstall said Gadget

  For any other person having this problem, here's how I did it.

  • Close the Gadget
  • Navigate to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Cache
  • Remove all files & folders here
  • Re-install the Gadget
  • Problem solved (at least for me!)

  Additional notes
  If you need to uninstall the Gadget completely, you can re - install all of the Gadgets that come with Windows by following these steps

  • Click Start
  • Restore type in Gadget
  • Select Restore Gadgets installed with Windows Office
  • This will put back all the Windows by default Gadgets

  You can try the steps below and check if the problem is resolved.

  Try the following methods and check if the weather gadgets work fine.

  Method 1:

  This may be caused by corruption of the gadget.

  You can try to restore the gadget.

  To do:

  1. right click on the gadget.

  2. go in properties.

  3. at the bottom of the window you will find a tab to restore Gadgets installed with Windows, click it.

  This will restore it to the default setting. It has to become your Gadget weather work.

  Method 2:

  Try to modify the English (United States) system locale. Sometimes just changing system language locale alone is enough to solve the problem of weather gadget.

  To change the locale of the system,

  1. open region and language by clicking on the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking clock, language, and region, click the region and language.

  2. click on the Formats tab, and then, in the Format list, select the locale to use to display the date, time, currency, and measurements.

  Anyone has an idea why my gadget weather says service unavailable?  It works very well because I bought the PC (about 2 months ago).  Yesterday, it started this problem.

  Microsoft has DISABLED the weather gadgets and currency via a recent update of security, because of worries about the vulnerability associated with these gadgets running on your computer. You can read more here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2719662 . Adjust the settings of your computer and all these other 'suggestions' people are, will NOT work. The function has been REMOVED from the operating system. It has also been removed from Windows 8 operating system. There are "theorists" who agrees that there is a security problem in the gadgets or Microsoft just doesn't support gadgets (usually from third party software) and has therefore disabled them in Windows 7 and eliminated in Windows 8.

• Weather Gadget Windows 7 Home Premium

  Yesterday, when "awakened" computer HP dv7 laptop, I noticed the current temp for the gadget weather has not been demonstrated, but rather a range scheduled for Columbia, SC showed. I did a Google search and saw answer to a similar question has been for the gadget to uninstall and reinstall. When I did, I rebooted and then the gadget showed temp for the new YHork, NY instead of Coljumbia, SC. I select the options on the gadget icon, enter postal code and/or the location of the city and get "site not found". I can walk into any city and get the same result.  I then added gadget weather Bug and it works properly! I know you could live with it, but I prefer weather because it is smaller. I ' ved did a system restore and had no effect. Suggestions? Thank you.

• Weather & Gadgets currency has stopped working

  Portable Windows 7 64 - bit with 2 user accounts.

  1 (admin) user. Weather Gadget works very well.

  User 2. Gadgets weather & currency used to work but stopped recently, with the message "unable to connect to the service.

  Gadget clock continues to operate correctly on both accounts.

  I've seen several fixes such as deleting a file 'settings.ini' sidebar or by running the sfc/scannow utility. Has no effect.

  I also tried to disable the functionality of Windows, and then turn.

  I even tried to replace the files in directories user 2 Sidebar/Cache with the exploitation of user 1, no luck.

  I also saw about Microsoft after you turn off this feature for security reasons.

  However, if that's true then why the weather gadget still works for user 1, even after deletion/re-add/change of place, etc.. It seems unaffected.

  It seems that it is something in user 2 settings (although nothing has been knowingly changed).

  All the regular MS updates installed.

  Advice please.

  Mine is simular.

  Weather gadget and currnecy of my OFFICE quit working two days ago and my tracks leave work yesterday.

  Weather and the motto of my Dell PORTABLE gadgets are working properly.  TITLES added to my laptop to see if it works and it works very well, too
