GeekBuddy, complete a SCAM!

I have heavily been deceived by them on behalf of Apple Support. It was just yesterday that a message posted on my Mac asked me to compose a TFN to Apple Support. Completely amazed at what is going on, I tried to escape but was limited to. Devoid of any option, I dialed the number and was diverted to GeekBuddy. The technician who had the line presented in front of me a number of problems that I never knew, until here. He said that $ 200 could save my Mac. If she does not seem ridiculous! How is it a system that worked perfectly be about to get totally damaged. Still, having been afraid I paid $ 200 according to the request, but I think that I was completely wrong. Coz at the moment where I transferred the money, that everything was identical to the front. My experience tells that GeekBuddy is a complete SCAM! Can someone offer you please how to recover money they have committed fraudulently to me?

This kind of message popup will always be a scam. Never answer these scare tactics. For future reference: Force Quit Safari, the. restart Safari while holding down the SHIFT key.

If you allowed criminals to access your computer, you must consider this compromise and restore a backup prior to the scam.

Please contact your bank for the procedure to deal with the scam and weakened credit/bank card.

  • BlackBerry smartphones "BOLD" Pocket box, $34.99 & $69.99 even point!

I had a "BOLD" for two months.  I ordered a case of pocket of the ShopBlackberry of the site about six weeks ago and paid $34,99 + S & H.  I never really liked because leather was stiff and never really properly fit and it was difficult to take the phone out.  I had previous cases of ShopBlackberry for my beads that excellent adjustment and felt something was wrong.  I called Globalware Solutions, supplier for ShopBlackberry, and the gentleman in India suggested I return it and gave me an RMA to do.  Then, I ordered a Premium Pocket Holster for $69.99 in the hope that it could solve my adjustment and problems of quality of leather.  I did not return the first case yet.  I received the case $69.99 two days ago.  To my complete surprise, the two cases are IDENTICAL!  I called Globalware Solutions to ask Kate, whose name was on the shipping label if maybe there was a mistake, she did not return my call.

I called the number of the media again and spoke to the India and received another RMA #!

I bought ShopBlackberry before and was very happy.  It was a serious mistake, or complete a scam.  Everyone has a similar experience?

My Google Chrome has suddenly stopped working and I got a message from zz - mcure.in telling me that my Apple computer has been blocked and call Apple to 1-855-686-7867 to restore my computer. I didn't think it was a legitimate number so has not called. I cannot leave Google Chrome nor can I shut down my computer. Everything is frozen. However, I am able to connect to other programs as well as Safari. Maybe, I had a virus even though I am running Avast and it did not pick up. Can someone help with this problem?

    Thank you

    Anthony

It is a SCAM!  By calling do not, you have made the right choice.  Delete history in Chrome and you should be OK.

Also remove AVAST.  AV for Macs are completely non-essential and can do more harm than good.  Please read this:

  • Constantly flooded with pop up / phishing scam messages!

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help. For the past 2 weeks I've been flooded with boring jump - rises from the constant / phishing scams "congratulations you have won..." "on my iPhone and an iPad 2! It has gotten to the point now where I can't use any of these devices! as soon as I use safari, google chrome, most apps for example BBC News, BBC sport, etc... It automatically goes to the prize / competition messages and can't click on them. I was not on all questionable websites, just news and sports that I used for years, starting by it seemed to be only BBC sport app but then quickly spread to all! It seems also occur just after I did the last software update, do not know if this is related to the problem?

    So far, I have:

    • Removed from web history (several times)
    • Completely erased and reset all devices and set up as a new iPad / iPhone.
    • Created a new Apple ID, incase it was related to my original account.
    • Make sure blocker made in the settings.
    • Been in the apple store for help twice, they just did what I had already done. He seemed to disappear when in the Apple store, but as soon as I got home n used them once again, he was back!
    • I tried installing apps blocker, but they did not work, and most are not comparable with iPads.
    • Messaged Apple on the Live Chat, but they did not help, just what I had already done before.

I'm completely lost what to do next.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to get rid of these horrible annoying messages / pop - ups, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you

  • Found lost iPhone scam

My daughter dropped her Iphone earlier. The phone is locked with a 4 digit code.

The sim card and the phone (its IMEI) reported stolen and are blocked by the operator.

A few weeks back it started to receive text messages that her lost phone had been found and she was invited to follow a link. A link that leads to a phishing site. She didn't click here.

These days she's been doing e-mail messages saying the same thing: his lost phone have found strange links.

Text messages, I can understand because they can found his phone number of the sim card (she got a new sim card to the operator using the same number today), but how can they know his email? His AppleID?

It makes me really worried if they managed to get to the phone somehow.

The phone as reported as stolen to the Police

The phone is blocked and locked by the operator

The phone has been defined as lost and we also click content thingie erase icloud (not sure that it worked well)

We changed all the passwords (AppleID, e-mail, etc.)

The phone has been removed completely to iCloud

Is there something else we should / can do? Can stop us these scam messages to enter?

If, during the period between when the phone has been lost/stolen and you reported, the unbelievers could use Siri to find information. If Siri were not off on the lock screen, what they should have done is call Siri and ask the phone belonged to. If your daughter kept its own information of contact in the phone, as do many people, they could have accessed.

It seems that if you took all the right steps. There is really no way to prevent people to continue to send you emails scam. Treat them as you would any other spam.

    Good luck.

Completely erase your hard drive and he re-partition. Reinstall a new copy of OS X. change all of your passwords. Report it to your banks and credit card companies. You can just for the re - issue new credit cards.

A good rule to follow: If you don't know what is on the other end of a web link, then don't click it. There is no real viruses affecting a Mac, as update you OS X means that you should go to El Capitan to protect against the latest RansomWare - KeRanger.

The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.

Difficulty of pop-ups in browser that support Safari.

Common pop - ups include a message saying that the Government has taken over your computer and you pay release (often called "Moneypak"), or a false message saying that your computer has been infected and you need to call a number of tech support (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it to be resolved. First of all, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and that your computer has not been assigned. This "hack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so don't pay not money, call number, or provide personal information. This article will give an overview of the solution to remove the pop-up window.

    Quit Safari

Usually, these pop-ups will not go by clicking 'OK' or 'Cancel '. In addition, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in grey, including the option to leave Safari. You'll probably force quit Safari. To do this, press command + option + ESC, select Safari, press on force quit.

    Relaunch Safari

If you restart Safari, the page will reopen. To avoid this, hold the "Shift" key when opening Safari. This will prevent windows since the last time that Safari was running since the reopening.

It will not work in all cases. The SHIFT key must be maintained at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window is displayed again. In these circumstances, after force quit Safari, turn off Wi - Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then restart Safari normally. He'll try to reload the malicious Web page, but without a connection, it will not be able to. Leave this page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com and try to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet and the page that you entered is displayed rather than the malicious.

I received a phone call from a person claiming to be with Microsoft, saying that they have detected the malware on my computer.  They led me run some diagnostics, Event Viewer, which showed more than 2,000 error and warning messages, and another page that shows the various functions of Microsoft Works does not.  Then they directed me to a site called Ammyy to give them a connection to my computer remotely and allow them to delete the malware.  It seems not legitimate, so I hung up.  This is - possbily a call legitimate Microsoft or obviously a scam?  If a scam, what is the significance of all these error and warning messages?  Thanks for any help on this.
