Generation of CTS of Codec?

Hello

I was wondering if there was a quick and easy way to find out what generation a codec is on a PSTN device?

Thank you

Hi Philip.

connect to the line of control device of the CTS and cause the command to know the codec gen: see the fitting

  • Can we replace the primary codec CTS 3000 with CTS 1000 codec

    Hi all

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Physically CTS 1000 codec and CTS 3000 Primay Codec is the same air, I would like to know what is the difference between the two codecs.

Suppose if I replace the main codec CTS 3000 with codec CTS 1000 it'll work?

The difference is only between the firmware... ??

If I try to download the firmware CTS 3000 in CTS 1000 codec does?

Also add codec CTS 1000 in CUCM as Codec CTS 3000?

    Kind regards

    Nikhil Jayan

    Nikhil,

Are the only thing you need to know about 2 codecs GEN 1 or GEN 2. On the GEN 1 all the microphones connect to the primary codec. On the Gen 2 microphones connect through the audion expansion area. You can see the difference on the codecs on the Gen 2, you can see 1 connection for the Center microphone and a connector square for the cable to the AEB.

Other codecs are exactly the same. Endpoint gets its configuration file in Communications Manager. So once go you MAC address and restart the endpoint it will go the new configuration file. If you use a CTS Manager, you will need to go into the Application user in the CUCM and move the MAC address of available for controlled devices. You will then need to make a discovery of the room in the CTS - Man.

The firware for both codecs are the same.

    I hope this helps out.

  • is there a procedure to stop cts telepresence codec?

    Hi all

is there a procedure to stop for codec cts.

Because approximately after every restart one of the codec is broken down.

    Thank you.

It would depend on what CTS you have.

  • TP Installation

    Hello

I am new to telepresence, and I got a job to establish the environment of Cisco WebEx One Touch Meetinig Teleprence. have got facilities such as below:

MCS-7835-I3-ECS1, CTS 3000 codec; the documentation seems there is Server/service as Community trade marks, CT-manager and CUCM.  My question is: what equipment should perform such services, or need to connect remote CUCM?

It would be better if can get more information

I would recommend starting with the 'prerequisites' here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/cts_admin/webex_solutions/guide/cts_webex_pref.html#wp1010482

The WebEx OneTouch feature requires a CTMS (MultiPoint Switch), CTS-Manager & CUCM to implement. You can use the Commerical Express option to combine on a single MCS Server (there are some drawbacks with the number of users, etc.), see here for more details on this:

  • First Elements 10 chronology slow... why?

I just built a new computer with:

    -Windows 7 Professional

    -Intel Core i7-3770

    8 GB RAM DDR3

    SanDisk 128 SSD

Blue WD 1 TB 7200 RPM HARD drive

GTX 650 1 GB (I know not necessary since the PreE is not using it for rendering)

Specifically, when I use the timeline, zoom in and out, move it to the left and the right, it becomes very slow.  Also, when I move the cursor to time line he hangs out a lot. My project is on DV - Standard 48 kHz. My video is in AVI format approxamatly long time. It is very surprising since before I change on my 500HDD Macbook Pro 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB, 2009.  I just changed a raw DV footage with hard drive, memory Flash-camcorders - Standard 48 kHz project put on my Macbook.  I had no lag what so ever regarding what I lived on my PC build. What could be the matter with her? When editing, I have the CPU meter and the GPU counter (I know that Pree uses the GPU to render) on as well, but that's all. I upgraded my computer to discover a rendering faster and export times not to compromise for a timeline experience slow! Help!

I think that the canopy will do what need you, and the result will be better.

I am probably more importance of multigenerational quality loss, than a lot and won't go far even use intermediate files DV - AVI, if I need to make a bidirectional Export/edit/Import. I'm afraid of ANY compression, which is not absolutely necessary. Some people believe that the DV - AVI is perfectly fine, even for intermediate generations, but I see those 5% + 5% + 5%. For one generation, I agree that they are very good, but often need to several generations, so use a CODEC lossless, as Lagarith or UT for these intermediaries.

To capture from an analog source, I use an old Canopus 300 and it is perfect. This generation a DV - AVI was never a problem, and I thought those against AVI uncompressed - even with display of criticism, I can't make a difference, even if a large part of this may be due to the original material - VHS tapes.

Good luck and please update us on your progress. In addition, a DV - AVI will be much, much easier to edit (smoother, etc.), all highly compressed material.

  • SX20 Codec w / CTS-PHD-1080P12XS - Standby (Position of privacy)

    Nice day

I have a client with a Codec SX20 with a CTS-PHD-1080P12XS in one place, and in the other place, they have a SX20 with a CTS-PHD1080P4XS2.

The site with the 4 X camera when they have the camera go on Standby, camera movements and the screen turns white and the LED at the front of the camera switches to Flash.

The site with the X 12 camera when they have the camera go on Standby, camera movements and the screen turns blank and the LED on the front of the camera will NEVER blink.

The concern for the customer, it is that the camera/codec is not enter standby mode correctly.

The site that is not flashing when the eve is running TC5.1.2.289652.

Does anyone know if there is a difference in behavior between the two cameras in the way that they're going to sleep? Should I see both of them turn to the side and starts to blink?

    Thank you

    Ron

    Hi Ron,

The amount of the fine. We are all new to a field at some point :-).

I think that I know well the issue that you are facing. As you mentioned that the camera shows that view in the second after you go to sleep. I came across this issue 2 - 3 times now. It has proved to be a problem with the remote control because it sends a command to the codec to go in standby mode and then immediately wake up it.

You can try to send the order on hold using the API:

    xCommand Eve turn on

Give this command and check whether the device shows view in 1 second you mentioned and let us know. It could be the problem with your remote control.

    Kind regards

  • What is the difference between codec primary and secondary codec in cts-3000?

    Hello

I'm a novice on telepresence. This community is only a place to resolve issues for me.

What is the difference between codec primary and secondary codec in cts-3000?

I know the primary function of the codec. but I don't know exactly of secondary function of codec.

    Help me please.

    Hello

On a CTS 3000 system, you have 1 codec primary and secondary 2 codecs. Secondary codecs are responsible for the camera left and right and view the connections. They communicate the main codec via an Ethernet cable.

Here is a guide to the installation of a CTS-3000 so that you can see the routing of cables.

In addition, if you are interested to learn more about the telepresence as of last year, Cisco introduced the video CCNA certification track. Maybe it's something you are interested in.

  • Codec C60 CTS requires BE 6 K

    Hi all

I have a codec C60 CTS to be installed in a new site that offers free vpn to Headquarters. The HQ is fully functional with BE 6 k, codec C60, etc..

Do I need a BE 6 K in the new site for the installation of the codec c60. (I'm confused because I've heard that sometimes it takes BE 6 k)

    Thanks in advance

Yes. You can make cross-site calls, then save your C60 on the AC BE6K.

Registration BE6K must have a license of TP for your C60 room.

  • CTS-CTRL-DVC8 and Codec IP best practices

    Hello

My team and I are trying to decide on the best way to IP, Cisco touchscreens.  As these devices need not be monitored or accessed remotely and only require IP connectivity to the codec, I'm fine with DHCP for them.  However, there is a recommendation to have these devices themselves are on the same vlan (voice), the codec or is it right to reside on the vlan data?

    Thank you for your comments,

    Leo

In our environment, we usually use the DHCP protocol, but has reservations for each of the major features (endpoints / touch / etc).

As a general rule, we also endpoint, and he matched touch, in the same IP subnet / VLAN that retains all the local traffic and having no no need to be routed anywhere.

  • Bike E 2nd Gen supports Bluetooth Aptx codec?

    Hi all

Does anyone know if the E bike (2nd generation) supports the Bluetooth Aptx codec?

The official website of Aptx is not reliable for this info, because there are devices that I know support Aptx, but are not listed on this Web site.

Does anyone really know? Is there a way to check?

    See you soon!

OK, I ran a test on my US stock running Android XT1527 Moto E LTE 5.1 at retail, and it uses AptX if taken in charge by the speakers. In the screenshot below, all audio packets are sent to the Bluetooth speakers using the real-time transport protocol real (rtp) with the "non-A2DP" codec associated with SEID ACP: 5 orders when the discovery have been executed, I saw that SEID ACP: 5 has the following fields: Service category: Media Codec, Media Type: Audio , Vendor ID: APT Licensing. So, there is direct evidence that the bike E 2nd Gen LTE XT1527 supports AptX audio Bluetooth. If all other areas tested this feel free report with your results.

  • CTS-PHD1080P12XS2 + to be used with the laptop

    Hello

We got a CTS-PHD1080P12XS2 + camera that we bought with the SX20. It works very well.

This camera integrate with laptop who got both built-in WebCam and HDMI port? The reason for doing: is poor quality of the webcam and the client S/W to the Conference of the laptop and wants to use the Sx20 camera.

    regds,

    Aman

    Hi Aman,

I don't think that the whole upward to integrate the camera of the Sx20 with laptop / PC and use it wouldn't work like the laptop must have HDMI as a port of entry to take the power of the camera and encode it.

Encoding and decoding is performed by the Sx20 codec, I don't think your laptop could have done. The computer must have a video encoder card in order to use the camera.

  • Function button "Transfer" CTS?

We run 1.7 on our endpoints CTS and the Midlet running on PSTN phones as well.  I've been asked for the ability to transfer a call from one piece of CTS to the other.

Currently, it seems that the MIdlet control programmable keys that are presented on the phone, is that correct?

I can't get a transfer softkey to appear on PSTN phones.  Is it normal?  Endpoints support CTS same call transfer feature?

    Thank you!

    Hello

The soft keys are part of the MIDlet which are served by the codec software.  The function button 'transfer' is not included, as CTS endpoints do not support the call transfer feature.

    Thank you

  • Downgrade Firmware 3210 CTS

    Nice day

We were asked to RTC 3210 1.6.7 to 1.7.6 customer firmware level. They are also running CUCM 7.0.2

Advised customer that this would allow good interpoerability from polycom and we went ahead and installed the file on the TFTP of CUCM, restarted the TFTP service and proceeded to reset the end point.

the upgrade went through the phone, however, stated a version mismatch. Of course, the first step should have checked the compatibility matrix. new whe made, we noticed that the CUCM version seems to not be supported for the specific firmware level.

We proceeded to specify the load of phone orginial new in CUCM and reset the CTS still however, it does not take the 1.6.7 originial firmware.

We also did a factory reset, but the payload was still 1.7.6.

If possible, can anyone hear the appropriate procedure by returning to the 1.6.7 firmware, if that's possible?

We will be upgrading the CUCM to 8.5 next week in all cases.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I agree that 1.7.6 is not supported with CUCM 7.0.2 but I'm still under the impression of the "version mismatch" you saw on the phone was just MIDlets to complain that you still had some 1.6 midlets on the phone and on the codec 1.7. After having upgraded midlets should have fixed that. What would actually work and would not work I am not sure.

That said, the downgrade to 1.6.7 you try should work fine. Procedure of decommissioning is the same as for the upgrade, only to enter the name of the charge that you want to go to.

    Best regards.

  • CUCM phone with CTS SW 1.7 Config / MIDlets: location of external data settings

Q: am I on the right to leave the empty authentication server URL or is it still necessary in the Config of the phone with SW 1.7 / MIDlets running?

(Background: access to the URL of screenshot of the phone is handled differently with 1.6 and 1.7 CTS endpoints (see here) )

Cisco Unified Communications Manager Configuration Guide for Cisco telepresence system is not clear about phone configuration / authentication URL:

    On the one hand:

-with SW 1.7 MIDlets are mandatory

    and

    - table 2-6 says ' leave blank to use the default all fields.» (this of course also means the field"Server authentication" ")

    On the other hand:

-Chapter 'setting up a remote phone' said

«.. . Enter the following in the field of the authentication server: http://<> Address >: 8080/authenticate.html IP CTS. »

NOT differentiating between 1.7 so or SW earlier, do not differentiate the Solutions MIDlet MIDlet / No.

    and

-Chapter Phone IP MIDlets Interface configuration step 9 just allows me to remove the Service URL and URL at idle, not talking about authentication URL

    Just to say things straight:

1.7 midlet works both feel so auth. Server is configured on the phone (pointing to the RTC) or if it is empty and the Enterprise effect parameter

But access to the URL address phone screenshot is possible if I leave the field blank and associate the phone to an existing user of CUCM

    Thanks for any answers

Thanks for the comments, we will work on the clarification of our documents.

As you know that prompts you the codec for authorization and, now, because of the security change codec will refuse the request from version 1.7.

A few things we do now 1.7

-Remove the URL for authenticating all IP phones
-Create a new user account inquiry CUCM (example: admin/cisco), with ONLY
the necessary rights to make screenshots and associated phone.
-Configure the URL for authentication within the parameters of CUCM company with one IP address instead of the host name
-Open Ports in the ACL to allow phone to communicate with CUCM
