BlackBerry smartphones Phone Jack questions

Hello, looked back about 9 pages for something similar, so I don't waste anyone's time, but couldn't find anything.

Here's my dilemma: my headphones won't play Pandora.  Seems to work (headset jack) fine for everything else, telephone conversations, downloaded mp3s, etc., but for some reason, Pandora will not come through. It worked to a point, and I don't think I changed anything.

It's as if I can move out and carefully taking back, he will hit a spot and play, then stop.  Do not get this with something else (as mentioned above).

Thanks in advance for all possible solutions.

John

Huh.  Crazy.  Who did.  Thank you!  I always forget about this.  Seems too easy and simple.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

What you need to do is to find, on your PC, the IPD file created when you backed up. Search your entire hard drive *. IPD. Then use this file as the source of a restoration of your new BB (choose ONE of these KB, depending on the version of the RIM Desktop software you have already installed on your PC):

  • BlackBerry Smartphones phone won't boot to the top

I downloaded a few applications to Blackberry World on my night of phone. One was booster. When I tried to open it I got an error message saying something about Java, and after failed attempts to open it, I deleted it. The other was AP Reader. I just tried to open it for the first time this morning. When I clicked on it, the phone started to reboot. He took an unusually long time to restart, then I put down and came back some time later. When I picked up, he seemed to be in the off position. I tried to turn it back on but nothing happened. So I took the battery out and put back. The fire came, stayed on a minute or two, but instead of booting, the phone is off again. I tried to remove the SIM card as well as the battery and then replace both, but he got the same results. I can't even reset the phone to default settings because I can't seem to start. Help! What can I do?

Sometimes you gotta try some variations... If you have tried only twice, you did not probably not enough variations. I remember a device where I had to wait for the touchscreen to become active, hold down the ESCAPE key for about 50% of the loading bar, release, then press and hold again close to 80% to 90%. A strange sequence, but it worked for me.

If you don't want to keep trying, your only recourse will be more drastic... I hope you have a good backup, as it is unlikely that you will be able to get one now.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

A few things to discuss... so bear with me...

    (1) contrary to others how things, RIM does not provide desktop PIM. Others force you to use their PIM and only their PIM. RIM provides a driving software that works as a bridge between your PIM and the BB. See this compatible PIM KB:

    • KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize

    (2) RIM provides a device switch Wizard to migrate from another SmartPhone to a BB... but only for compatible devices. See this KB:

    • KB05459 How to use the switch device Wizard to switch to another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone

    (3) If your old phone is not compatible with the wizard, then RIM more offers the possibility to import ASCII and CSV files. See this KB:

    • KB04312 Create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
KB11194 How to import contacts from a CSV file to the BlackBerry
    • Sorry, but RIM does no research on how to get your data from your old device and in ASCII format or CSV... it is a function of your old device.

So your choice is, IMO, to continue to use a desktop PIM for your data (and you should, IMO)... then choose a compatible PIM (from above). Then download your data from your old device and the PIM Office. Next, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:

From a PC, you can install any bundle of BONES to a BB via this procedure:

Note that although written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or recharge - it depends on the OS package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

There are two methods for recovering for you to try:

    One:

    • Open Blackberry Desktop Software & connect your device with the PC using the USB cable, without inserting the battery.
    • You have three Retry option, update or cancel, and then click Update.
    • Once it is at the stage of the "initialization of pocket" update, then insert the batteries.
    • If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.

    Second:

    • Start your BlackBerry in safe mode.  Article ID: KB17877 how to start a mode BlackBerry smartphone without failurehttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
    • Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
    • IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
    • Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
    • Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.

I am grateful for this forum because even simple questions like the following are difficult to obtain responded by Blackberry.  Seizing the issue in the 'Help' section on my handheld gives always nothing.  It seems that a large company like RIM would understand more in their user manuals.  Anyway, enough ranting... • BlackBerry Smartphones phone freezes

    Hello

I installed the Blackberry World accuweather app on my torch 9800 the latest version of the OS 6. After the reboot, when I tried to open the my phone application restarted. I went to uninstall in the world of blackberry and the phone froze. So I just thought that I hide the application and do not use it. However, not even run the my phone application crashes after 2 minutes. The only resolution is a battery pull, which buys me then for 2 minutes. I tried to use blackberry desktop to solve the problem but the phone freeze as soon as it connects to the blackberry desktop.

When I say phone freeze, I would say. I get the spinning clock symbol and that's all. It ran for 25 minutes before the last drawing of battery. Help! any suggestions would be helpful.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior ceases, then try to delete the application in Mode safe.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones New User: Questions about the internal clock synchronization, software updated

    Hellko Forum.

For two weeks, I use a Blackberry Bold 9900 with OS7.1 and I am very satisfied with the device.

But there are some questions for which I have found no solution:

(*) Looking back at my old Siemens S10D or SK65, they had an option to synchronize the internal clock with time of the GSM network information. Will there be a similar option in the Bold 9900? What I found was an option in the date and time settings. But when I put "Government aktualisieren" (setting the time) on 'automatic' then time switches to October 5, 2013, 12:20 and nothing happens. Is it possible to connect to an NTP server? If so, where to enter the address?

(*) On this Web page http://de.blackberry.com/software/smartphones/update/blackberry7-os.html?LID=de:bb:support:update - of... Describes how to upgrade the software of the smartphone "over the air". But I can't find this option. Where the developer has hidden this feature?

Thanks a lot for the answers in advance

Exactly as you wrote, there is no such capacity... you can "restore" data, but you can only "recharge" your operating system... so, I would recommend that you attempt to reload your OS and perhaps update. Here are a few tips.

At the top of each forum device, there should be some 'sticky' threads dealing with the level of the OS available for many models. If they understand your model, please use those as a reference as you go along. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the download portal official for packages of OS for your model:

From a PC, you can install any compatible OS package (for example, for your BB model exact number) of a BB via this procedure:

Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC. If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Don't forget that you remove, since your PC, any other BB OS devices as packages with more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try this procedure might limit the specific causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry smartphones a few questions... Sorry so many questions...

Hello. I just got my BB a week ago so I have a few questions. I've traveled the previous pages to see if my questions were already asked, but I didn't see it (at least not with the first 6 pages) so sorry if this is a repeat.

    1. If you add a song to your BlackBerry, as in iTunes list, can you use that as a ringtone too? Or not because he was transferred in a song and not a ringtone by itself?

    2. is there a way to watch videos online? From YouTube or other sites that require Flash?

    3. I currently have my left convenience as the phone lock, requiring a password to unlock it (not just the #* or whatever the generic unlock code). However, my phone is locked automatically after 1 hour (it's long, I could put it). Is there a way to disable the fact it locks automatically after 1 hour, but still have the password how to unlock my phone?

    4. is there a way to disable the key tones when dialing a number? Even when I'm on silent or vibrate, whenever I have to dial a number, the numbers still make noise.

    5. If you accidentally delete a text, is it possible to get it back? My old phone had the ability to browse the deleted texts.

I think that's it... Thanks so much in advance!

    Jess

Hi and welcome to the forums,

lets take one at a time:

    (1) you can use a song as a ringtone, go to music media, select the key to success menu song and choose set as ringtone.

The song will not play like a ringtome just 4or 5 seconds of it.

    2) there are 3rd party apps that will allow you to which SOME videos, it depends on the format. I need to find the

an I know, just do not remember the name right now

    (3) it is not an option to disable the timeout of security if you are using the password, type of sense if you think about it. I got mine because I'm on and outside it frequently the value for an hour. But I always manually lock it when I leave.

    (4) No, the keytones stay on, even in vibrate mode.

    (5) I have to watch this

So I owe you a link and a response to 5.

Please let me know if others answer your questions, and I will return with more information.

  • Hardware blackBerry Smartphones Dumb newbie question! :)

    Hi people,

I'm new in the world of the blackberry and I'm about to take the plunge with a unlocked sim-free BB Bold to use in the United Kingdom on Vodafone. I read on the differences of software between BIS and BES and would go for a set - up BIS. My dumb newbie question is equipment arrives in version BES or BIS or not?

Thanks in advance and do not hesitate to make fun of my madness

    craigdh wrote:

Good answer Xandrex. However I'm still not clear as to the issue of equipment, I asked. The reason why I am wanting to buy "BOLD" a separate contract is.

    1. it will work a little cheaper over the life of a contract.

    2. I will get my "BOLD" much faster.

3 UK networks have a reputation for crippling features in high-end etc phones then charge you more to get similar functionality via one of their services.

    4. they are very slow to provide updates of the firmware on their own brand of appliances.

There was a little insinuation in my answer: basically, you buy a mobile phone, so you get a BIS/BES contract with a carrier who takes in charge that the mobile phone. A "BOLD" can be used like BIS or BES, it depends on the company.

On the price, I'm sure the phone deal + contract is always cheaper than a "BOLD" (retail and not eBay from some guys) then a contract which is usable (that is, no GoDaddy or 0.01GBP / KB).

for the speed, you are the one who knows.

The thing of the cripping: the thing is, the updates are provided only by the suppliers (they get a barebone RIM OS, then add their stuff like facebook or AOL). Even if you buy a single "BOLD" without a contract, if you want to upgrade the regular way, you wait fot your carrier to publish the upgrade. Or you can do the regularly (which can be made with or without the purchase contract at the same time).

  • BlackBerry smartphone app update questions / BB curve 9360 Apollo

Hello, Im new to this forum and Id like some help with my new BB

Here's the thing, I'd like updating my OS to a version more recent version is 7.0 Bundle 1680 (v7.0.0.353) and
When I try to update BB desktop app, it's say there isn't any new available worm.

So I see there are diff version available, but I'm not sure to install for example BONES (v7.1.0.912) T-mobile, OS of Bluegrass Cellular and O2 UK 7.1.0.861 release 7.1.0.821 (Bundle 2301)

What is the best for my phone?

And my phone is unlocked, I need to unlock it again if I update the OS?

Hello and welcome to the community!

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    1) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (2) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (3) download and install to your PC, the BB OS package you want:

    4) remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER.

    (5) run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC. If, during the process, your BB votre BB a '507' error, simply unplug the power cord of the BB USB and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

    Do not forget to save.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

Nope... once a device is unlocked to the carrier, only the plant BB can (legally) re - lock.
