Codec C60 CTS requires BE 6 K

Hi all

I have a codec C60 CTS to be installed in a new site that offers free vpn to Headquarters. The HQ is fully functional with BE 6 k, codec C60, etc..

Do I need a BE 6 K in the new site for the installation of the codec c60. (I'm confused because I've heard that sometimes it takes BE 6 k)

Thanks in advance

Yes. You can make cross-site calls, then save your C60 on the AC BE6K.

Registration BE6K must have a license of TP for your C60 room.

Recommended bandwidth is > 1 MB.

  • Codec c60 sending two cameras at the Conference

Hi people, I need your help.

Our client, we have a codec c60 of cisco and we are facing a problem inside.

We have two cameras in codec c60. We made a presentation in console software TC to send both cameras at the Conference.

We have the following entries in the codec:

    source 1 - first camera

    source 2 - secondary camera

    source 3 - pc

We started the conference without presentation. Everything works fine. Both cameras are sent into the main channel. But when we try to send the presentation. The presentation works fine, but just the first camera is sent to the main channel. The layout does not work! But, if during the Conference, we go to the configuration and set the 'default presentatin source' as' 2". Source 2 is sent as presentation properly and in the mainstem both cameras are set correctly in the Console of TC. It works! The same thing happens if we set source as' the presentation by default"1. But if we define as the source 3 (pc), then presentation works normally, but just the first camera is sent to the main channel again, even if I don't put anything on the main track in Console of TC. The first camera is the "main source by default".

We tried to change the cables, the pluging the PC in "Source 2" and cable to the secondary camera in "Source 3". But we had the same result. If the 'PC' is the source of presentation, only the first camera is sent to end.

Can anyone here help me? Please help me.

If necessary, I can provide the XML file that I use in the TC Console.

    Thank you

    Hello

Please try again using a pc 16:9 source, because your layout of the TC console is set up for the resolution of pc.

Let me know if you get what I get when using a PC 16:9 source.

  • What is the difference between codec primary and secondary codec in cts-3000?

    Hello

I'm a novice on telepresence. This community is only a place to resolve issues for me.

What is the difference between codec primary and secondary codec in cts-3000?

I know the primary function of the codec. but I don't know exactly of secondary function of codec.

    Help me please.

    Hello

On a CTS 3000 system, you have 1 codec primary and secondary 2 codecs. Secondary codecs are responsible for the camera left and right and view the connections. They communicate the main codec via an Ethernet cable.

Here is a guide to the installation of a CTS-3000 so that you can see the routing of cables.

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/Telepresence/cts_3000/guide/3000_assembly_guide/CH08_Routing_Power_and_Signal_Cables.html

In addition, if you are interested to learn more about the telepresence as of last year, Cisco introduced the video CCNA certification track. Maybe it's something you are interested in.

  • Control several cameras with Codec C60

    Hello:

I have a client who wants to use 3 PrecisionHDMC cameras and with the intervention of content to a codec C60, as well as an AMX control system.

I understand that there may be only 3 video inputs connected to a C60 both, my question is:

If I have a HDMI switch which video switches of 3 cameras connected to Video Input #1 the C60 and have that is configured as an input of the CAMERA, how to control the cameras independently?

I usually sign my AMX for the C60 system RS-232 and send an order which said in effect "Hey C60, 1 camera to zoom before saying" or "Hey C60, say camera 2 to zoom out, etc...

But in this case, the C60 will be only 'think' it has a camera connected, therefore:

Can I still send commands via the codec that say things like 'hey C60, say 2 camera to zoom out,'

    OR

I can "daisy chain" cable between them and simply connect RS - 232 to the 1st chain camera and tell them '' camera 3, zoom ''?

    OR

Need me a RS-232 connection distinct to each camera and just say "camera zoom out.

I hope I explained my question quite well, I look forward to your responses!

    Thank you!

If you want to integrate a bit more flexibility and discreet control, you can add a small matrix of switching in the project (see Extron DXP 44 HDMI) and have then each camera connected directly to the AMX for control. This allows the discrete control, discrete video selection, output preview and the ability to also have a PC or other video source connected (3 cameras and a PC).

Discrete control is possible with chaining with addressing, but according to the placement of the camera and the distances between the camera the Garland cable runs can a problem and since you have to run the video towards the grid it's easier to run the control back on location as well.

If you want to use the composting and then the TC console should be used.

  • How to extend HDMI on Cisco TV presence Codec C60 camera cable

    Hello everyone.

I need to know how we can extend the camera HDMI cable and the control of camera d-SUB/RJ45 cable up to 50 m.

We know that HDMI cab be extended to aid commercial Extender HDMI, but we do not know if the C60 uses standard HDMI signal. and what about the control cable. ?

You can use any standard HDMI extender to extend HDMI video cable.

For camera control cable, you can make your own cable from camera to extend existing or just cable one as long as you need. See the camera cable pinout scheme in the PrecisionHDMC camera Guide on pg 17. If the camera cable is more than 5 meters, the unit must be plugged into a power supply for camera (PSU-CAM-V =), as the time is too long for the codec to power the camera.

  • SX20 Codec w / CTS-PHD-1080P12XS - Standby (Position of privacy)

    Nice day

I have a client with a Codec SX20 with a CTS-PHD-1080P12XS in one place, and in the other place, they have a SX20 with a CTS-PHD1080P4XS2.

The site with the 4 X camera when they have the camera go on Standby, camera movements and the screen turns white and the LED at the front of the camera switches to Flash.

The site with the X 12 camera when they have the camera go on Standby, camera movements and the screen turns blank and the LED on the front of the camera will NEVER blink.

The concern for the customer, it is that the camera/codec is not enter standby mode correctly.

The site that is not flashing when the eve is running TC5.1.2.289652.

Does anyone know if there is a difference in behavior between the two cameras in the way that they're going to sleep? Should I see both of them turn to the side and starts to blink?

    Thank you

    Ron

    Hi Ron,

The amount of the fine. We are all new to a field at some point :-).

I think that I know well the issue that you are facing. As you mentioned that the camera shows that view in the second after you go to sleep. I came across this issue 2 - 3 times now. It has proved to be a problem with the remote control because it sends a command to the codec to go in standby mode and then immediately wake up it.

You can try to send the order on hold using the API:

    xCommand Eve turn on

Give this command and check whether the device shows view in 1 second you mentioned and let us know. It could be the problem with your remote control.

    Kind regards

  • Codec C60 control ports

    Hi all
Please I need to know if the cisco C60 codec can be controlled through ethernet ports
She has 2 ports (com Ports) series for control, but my control processor lacks serial ports, so I don't want to use the serial ports.
I need to know if I can use the ethernet port for control and details on this use

    Thank you very much
    AGBO

Yes, it is possible to check via Telnet using the codec API.  There is useful information in the C API Guides séries on how to control the codec using the API and the various methods to control via RS232, SSH and Telnet.  You don't mention what processor to control you are using, but there are a few examples of programs Crestron here: Telepresence AV Integrator.

  • Can we replace the primary codec CTS 3000 with CTS 1000 codec

    Hi all

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Physically CTS 1000 codec and CTS 3000 Primay Codec is the same air, I would like to know what is the difference between the two codecs.

Suppose if I replace the main codec CTS 3000 with codec CTS 1000 it'll work?

The difference is only between the firmware... ??

If I try to download the firmware CTS 3000 in CTS 1000 codec does?

Also add codec CTS 1000 in CUCM as Codec CTS 3000?

    Kind regards

    Nikhil Jayan

    Nikhil,

Are the only thing you need to know about 2 codecs GEN 1 or GEN 2. On the GEN 1 all the microphones connect to the primary codec. On the Gen 2 microphones connect through the audion expansion area. You can see the difference on the codecs on the Gen 2, you can see 1 connection for the Center microphone and a connector square for the cable to the AEB.

Other codecs are exactly the same. Endpoint gets its configuration file in Communications Manager. So once go you MAC address and restart the endpoint it will go the new configuration file. If you use a CTS Manager, you will need to go into the Application user in the CUCM and move the MAC address of available for controlled devices. You will then need to make a discovery of the room in the CTS - Man.

The firware for both codecs are the same.

    I hope this helps out.

We intend to replace C60 H/W 80 SX. My query is can we use the existing camera with the same screens with new SX80?

    Please notify.

    regds,

    Aman

Equipment you list, it appears as a duplicate of 55-inch profile.  You can replace the C60 with a SX80 and always use PrecisionHDMC 1080 p 12 x camera, however, you will need to customize the installation a little, from the C60 a SX80 cables and the overall configuration/installation will be the same.  You will also need to buy a 10 Touch to control the SX80, like 8 Touch the C60's existing will become incompatible.  Suggest you take a look at the SX80 Installation Guide to get an idea of the connectors and what you have personalization.

Note that the SX80 installation guide does not mention the PrecisionHDMC 1080 p 12 x camera, but it is supported with limited functionality, below is taken from TC7/CE8 release notes:

    • Using base with Pan Tilt and Zoom functionality is supported.
    • Software update of this device is not supported natively by this codec.
    • Daisy chaining cameras is not supported on SX80.

Ultimately, customization, you may need to perform, not to mention how the monitors are currently controlled would be affected and may not work with the SX80, it may be interesting to simply replace the entire system with a new endpoint of MX series.

  • Media Player cannot play, need to video codec not installed. What codec? Where do I get it? How to install it?

Media Player cannot play, need to video codec not installed.  What codec?  Where do I get it? How to install it?

    Hello

The video codec that is required to decode and display the video can not be installed on your computer.

Today, there are hundreds of audio and video codecs in use. Some were created by Microsoft, but the vast majority of codecs have been created by other companies, organizations or individuals. By default, the Windows operating system and the player includes a number of the most popular codecs, such as MP3, Windows Media Audio and Windows Media Video.

    Method 1.
How to determine what codec is installed and how to install it automatically?
    a. to determine what codec was used with a specific file, play the file in the player, if possible. When the file is playing, right-click the file in the library, and then click Properties.
    b. on the file tab, look at the sections of video codec and Audio codec.
Download and install the Codecs by going to the PLAYER tab and check.
    c. connect you to the Internet and Download Codecs automatically.
For more information about codecs, see the articles below:
    Codecs: Frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/codecs-frequently-asked-questions

    Method 2.
If you know the name of the codec or its ID (called a id FourCC for video codecs or a WaveFormat identifier for audio codecs), try the search on the Internet. Often, you can go to the codec manufacturer's Web site to download the latest version of a codec.

  • Codec of Tandberg C series - DVI - I

    Hi guys,.

I'm trying to understand the DVI ports on a codec C60. I need to connect a VGA (from PC) input and an Hdmi output (on a plasma screen). I can only find vga-vga cables and hdmi to hdmi cable (good quality).

I want to know what type of DVI/VGA and DVI to HDMI adapter that I need to buy. DVI - I ports on the codec.

For the vga cable should I buy an adapter DVI - A, even a vga DVI - I adapt, just not a DVI - D adapter?

For the hdmi cable should I buy a hdmi to DVI - D, even a DVI adapter - I adapt, just not a DVI - A adapter?

Is the corect above or not?

    Thank you

    > Cable vga should I buy an adapter DVI - A, even a vga DVI - I adapt, just not a DVI - D adapter?

OK, you can use a VGA-to-DVI-I (or VGA-to-DVI-A), but also have the choice to use the VGA-DVI-I cable (or a VGA-DVI-A cable) that could have more choices with lower price.

    > Cable hdmi should I buy a hdmi to DVI - D, even a DVI adapter - I adapt, just not a DVI - A adapter?

OK, DVI - D or DVI - I adapter works for your installation, but you can use the HDMI connection on the monitor directly, without conversion DVI-HDMI.

Please note that some of the coded C-series has several interfaces of HDMI output and you may need to change the configuration of role of display to the first or second monitor.

  • C60 DVI input 3 Auto Detect using a DVI to VGA splitter

    Hello

We install a codec C60 using a splitter DVI input n ° 3 for the presentation source (DVI - I male to DVI - D & VGA Splitter cable's female adapter)

The DVI input source is configured as Auto-Detect.  Administrator's Guide confirms this seting automatically detects the signal is analog (VGA) or digital (DVI or HDMI).

The problem is the codec can't really switch from one source to another.   We do not seek to send two signals at once, but rather stable wether VGA and HMDI will be detected by the codec according to the entry sends the laptop.

can anyone confirm if this is a limitation of the codec, or bug in firmware or even simply impossible without adding additional hardware.

    see you soon,

    Mel

    Hello

    Yes, auto-detection works for me.

    Hello

To pc with VGA output, you use a VGA/DVI-I or DVI - A VGA cable.

For the connection to the screen if your screen has a hdmi input, you use an hdmi cable to hdmi.

If your screen input dvi, then it depends on what type of dvi input there. If DVI - I or DVI - D, you can use HDMI/DVI-I or HDMI to DVI - D cable. If the DVI - A, then you probably need a digital analog converter between the two.

  • CTS-1300 with another IP phone

    Hi all

is it possible to replace the phone with another version of phone 7975? I tried using 7945, but it shows no ip phone is detected cts-1300 status, but in CM the 7945 a status recorded, also I use windows Jabber to call the CTS but I can't make a call from ct-1300 anywhere.

    Please advice

    Acer

    Hello

It is not possible. Only 797 X series ip phones works with Cisco Telepresence. Therefore, you must use a phone 7975 ip and not a 7945. To work with a telepresence system, the phone needs more than simply have a line shared with the codec of CTS, the TOP java application must to be loaded on the phone to synchronize the phone with the codec, but of midlet applications java works with 797 X series, that is why you can not use a different model of phone.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cisco C60 3 cameras + speaker cable

    Hi guys,.

Do you know if there is a way to connect 3 cameras + presenter cable simultaneously on CODEC C60?

    Hi friend

Cisco Telepresence C60 has 3 video inputs that can be used through 5 physical interfaces. Although the codec has 5 interfaces, you can only use 3 of them at the same time.

    1 - HDMI input 1

2 - HDMI or DVI input

Entry 3 - DVI or Composite or YC

So, you can have two cameras, presentation of PC, or three cameras without presentation of PC, but not three cameras + PC presentation.
