  Reinstall the printer using the latest drivers on the Canon USA site should get the operational scanner.

  Please click here to access the drivers and software page for the PIXMA MX922.  Once the initial download to your model page, follow these steps:

  1. check that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop is correct and if this isn't the case, please click on the drop down menu to select your operating system.

  2. then please click the red arrow next to the "RECOMMENDED FOR YOU" section and click on the CUPS driver file. When you do, a red DOWNLOAD button will appear. Please click the box below the button DOWNLOAD, and then click DOWNLOAD to start the download. The time for the download process can vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.

  Once you have downloaded and installed the driver of CUPS on the site file, please install also all other elements of the section RECOMMENDED for YOU and the DRIVERS from the Web site.  To install the rest of the software which comes with the printer, please follow the steps above, except for step 2, you can click the red arrow next to the 'SOFTWARE' section instead of the RECOMMENDED section to locate and download the software.

  In fact, I highly recommend you download the free trial version and give it a test run.

  In the meantime, go to Windows Update and make sure you have all the updates of Windows, including those who do not automatically install it. Then go to the website of ATI / nVidia and ensure that you have the latest driver for your graphics card and go to Apple.com and ensure you have the latest version of Quicktime, by the requirements of the program.

  I tested the hard way by simply downloading album art in itunes to update my albums... but I quickly discovered when you download they are external, and * not * a part of the file even though they seem to be in Get info > work...

  I discovered this when I copied these songs on another Mac I use with home sharing to listen to my music all over the House...  The work wasn't there because the "Cover art" folder should also be copied...

  Since I thought...  It is better to have part of the file work... I have re-place this work with local copies...

  The problem is now to be how to update the already empty songs on the other Mac?  Its a mac mini with no screen connected, because I rely on screen sharing...

  I tried to open two copies of itunes, a local, a screen share with other Mac, right-click and get information about the song selection, works of art, copy...

  Then I tried to stick it on screen sharing, and it hangs... screen sharing... I just get a dialogue locally "report a problem, etc.

  Ideally, this would be the best method, because the file is ok... just work that I need to update... and since I can just sweep the albums and update those "in white", I thought this would be the best way

  If you download a standalone Offline Installer (i.e. that does not download the program all by installing) the same problem occur?

  Adobes FAQ page States after the download is complete and the installation begins actually downloaded file is located in the downloads. Try to run this file and see if the black screen is still happening.
