I get a dll error message that says: "the application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\kizinone.dll is not a valid Windows image.  Please check this against your installation diskette.

I went to the system registry to find the file it refers and is not a he.  I ran a norton registry cleanup and a virus scan.  I did find something online that made reference to this dll file.  The message appears at any time that I start a new program.  How to fix this, or find the virus that is the cause.

A Google search for "[insert the name of the file]" grown up nothing. When you get no hits for a filename on Google, chances are high that it is a malicious program file. You did not when you get the message. If it's only at startup, either you have uninstalled the malware program or your antivirus/antispyware program did. In all cases, a reference has been left in the boot file. You can remove the reference by managing your startup. If you get the message during regular time on the computer and not not only at startup, your computer is still infected.

Norton will do the job of cleaning and registry cleaners are garbage who at best will not do anything and the worst risk damage to your Windows installation.

First of all, make sure that the computer is really free of virus/malware through these systematically - General malware removal steps http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware . Then, if the computer is really clean and you still receive the message, manage your Startup to remove the reference to the malware:

Start > run > msconfig [Enter]

This will open the System Configuration utility. Look under the Startup tab and find the likely culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, apply and OK out. You don't need to restart immediately, but next time you do, you will get a dialog box saying that you have used the utility. Just check the box that says in effect, "don't mind to this subject again".

  • How to identify the virtual copies (in my records) that have already been deleted a collection

    Hello!

I keep looking for an answer to this anywhere on the web and 3 books, but can't find the answer...

How to identify the virtual copies (in my records) that have already been deleted a collection?

Here's the workflow, and where I'm stuck.

    1. I chose a picture and put it in a collection.

    2. I did a whole bunch of virtual photos in the collection copies that I tried different modifications.

    3. after and during a lot of changes, I have a lot of virtual copies removed from my collection because I decided against the changes after doing some comparisons.

    4. when I went the folders to select my next picture to work away and so to add to the collection, I discovered that each of my virtual copies was in the original folder, even if I had deleted from my collection.

    5. I really don't want these virtual copies deleted to be in my home folder.  They were virtual copies of trial and error and I wanted them to really just be thrown out.

    6. how to identify these virtual copies removed-from-the-collection in my folder?  File names all look the same, and besides, I want to be absolutely certain that I have selected the right ones.  Some of the changes were very minor and would be difficult to see without laboriously go through them one by one.

    Thank you very much!!

    Anne

No easy answer on fixing the mess other than an individual inspection of the virtual copy can't watching the Images/Edit history to determine which ones that you no longer need.

But to help prevent the problem in the future: when you are working from a collection, you must use ALT + return back to remove a copy of Photo or virtual catalog. With just the key DELETE or BACKSPACE only deletes the photo from the collection.

    Method 2:

Remove and reinstall all USB controllers.

    1. Open Manager devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click system and security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. In the list of the categories of equipment, locate and expand Bus USB controllers.
    3. Right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    4. Restart the computer and let the USB controllers get reinstalled.

  • Photosmart 7520 Intermittent 'USB device' new unrecognized on the new HP PC

I have a HP Pavilion 23-xxxx all-in-One desktop PC that was bought with a HP Photosmart 7520 in October of this year.  The PC came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit, which has been upgraded to 64-bit Windows 8 Pro following instructions provided by HP, including the installation of applications and specific drivers of Windows 8.  The computer has never been used with Windows 7, the upgrade was literally out of the box, the end of the first OEM installation.  Installed the printer software, downloaded from HP, which has installed fine.  As a first step, there is no problem with the printer - printing and functions of scanning performed as expected.  Then, after a day or two I started to do a random popup message in Windows saying "USB device not recognized" and something about Windows have stopped the device because it did not work.  The Billboard on the printer displays error and off-line.  If I turn on the printer, it will work again for a while.  Other USB devices connected to the computer - mouse, a keyboard and an external hard drive - continue to work very well.  I tried the printer connected to a different USB port, then changed the cable.  I ran the HP print and Scan doctor who reported that nothing was wrong.  Finally, I uninstalled the printer software and re-installed and everything was going well for a day before the same thing started to happen.  I used the software of the printer and the HP software that is provided for the computer to make sure that both devices are fully patched.

Much obliged for all the thinking on the issue.

The printer is probably defective. HP replaced under warranty after hours and weeks of troubleshooting. But to their credit that they replaced it with the more expensive 8600 OfficeJet, which worked without problems since then.

OK, so I think that my VM I created with the vmcreate.pl missing the ide0: 0 or something...

Any suggestions on how I can do this?

    I'm doing the following...

    1. create the virtual machine by using vmcreate.pl.

    2. Add the CDrom to the virtual machine using vmreconfig.pl.

    Thanks in advance.

    Just watched this.

The vmreconfig.pl script does not handle the case of a device not defined in the VirtualIDEController object array.

Look like the real device table is not defined until an IDE device is actually connected (or when a new IDE device is added).  I'm not 100% sure of what generates the actual peripheral table off the coast of the VirtualIDEController, but the case of a table of undefined device should be handled in the script to reconfigure.

I can see the two solutions here, first write a custom script that adds the CDROM and manages this one-off case.  Then, modify the vmreconfig.pl script to handle this particular case of a painting of the disconnected device.

In VMUtil.pm, you will find line number 929:

    My = $unitNumber $# {$controller-> device} + 1;

    This is to change:

    My = $unitNumber (set $controller-> device)? $# {$controller-> device} + 1:0;

There may be other cases in the VMUtil.pm module that needs to be updated as well.  For this reason, it may be better to just write your own custom tool.  However, the simple correction above may let you go ahead with your project in the short term.

    Thank you

    Ganesh.

    Ganesh,

Memory reservations are defined based on VM by VM.

You can allocate more memory to the virtual machines you have in your host (it's not really a good idea to go crazy with the overcommitment of memory, but some level of excessive pressure is used in general).  Memory applied to your VM resources are shares, bookings and VMkernel Swap limits.

    Just to illustrate:

You allocate 8 GB memory to a virtual computer.  If you take all the parameters by default, ESX will allot a 8 GB VMkernel Swap file in the base directory of your VM (it will have the extension ".vswp") this VMkernel Swap file is a safety net.  Your virtual machine, at this stage, can consume up to 8 GB of memory If physics is available from the host.  If the memory of your host is overcommitted, some of the available memory 8 GB could be allocated on 8 GB VMkernel Swap file.

If you set a reserve of memory - 2 GB - this means that the vmkernel will still award the first 2 GB of memory used by the virtual machine to the physical memory.  This is not means that the 2 GB of memory reserved is carved off the coast and completely dedicated to the virtual machine.  This means that the vmkernel offers up to 2 GB of RAM to the VM when and if she needs to use it.  It is a guarantee that the memory will be available upon request.  Because of this guarantee of the VMkernel, VMkernel swap file only has to make sure that the 6 GB memory is satisfied (4 GB total less the 2 GB reserved), so the VMkernel Swap file is only 6 GB in size.

Actions are a mechanism for prioritization and limits are a cap on physical memory ever allocated to the VM.

You can set up any number of memory for the virtual machines that you want - frankly, overcommitment of memory for ESX is a very good thing, but you must be vigilant about watching your systems if approve you.  If you have 64 GB of RAM, and you only configure your virtual machines to use total 32G, then you lose 32 GB of RAM.  If you allocate, say, 96 GB of RAM (total) to your virtual machines, then you look at a 50% overcommitment.  What to watch in overcommitting memory is application performance (and more importantly - perception of the user of this performance) and also the memory ballooning and VMkernel Swapping activity.  Those who can both will be in graphics performance in VirtualCenter.  I would recommend reading the Guide to management resources for more details.

    Hope that provides an overview.

    Thank you

  • I'm trying to get my old computer but have forgotten the password to log on windows xp. I tried to reinstall and the rider of password thing and nothing works. Any ideas?

    Help, please! Thank you!

The 'password jumper thing' (?) would be used to clear a BIOS password, not a Windows password. Are you talking about? If a password of BIOS (necessary when you turn on the computer), please give the model/brand/model of your computer (example: laptop Dell Inspiron 1525).

    If a Windows password:

If you have forgotten your password, if you have another user who has administrative privileges account you can log in to that account and change the password of your account of origin of the user accounts applet in Control Panel. If you do not have another account like this set upwards or that you do not have the password which you will need to log on to the built-in Administrator account. In XP Home, start the computer in Mode safe. This, by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. This will put you in the right menu. Navigate using your arrow up; the mouse does not work here. Once in safe mode, you will see the normally hidden administrator account. The default password is white.

In XP Pro, you don't need to go to Safe Mode. In the home screen, do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice to get the classic Windows logon box. Type in "Administrator" and the password that you assigned when you set up Windows.

If you have XP Pro or Media Center and have been using the account administrator for your regular work so it is the only user account on the system, there are ways to change the password for this account to a white. Microsoft does not allow us to tell how, in these forums. Their House, their rules. Use Google or ask a technician to the local computer (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad of the place).

  • Activate the battery Conservation Mode in Windows 10

Lenovo ThinkPad E540 laptop running Windows 10

When I got this machine, he was running Windows 7. With the help of Lenovo Power Manager, I was able to put the battery to load only when it fell below 40% and charge to a maximum of 80%. This configuration is designed to extend the useful life of the battery. My laptop is plugged in most of the time. I only use the battery for short periods.

When I put the battery always charged as he did in Windows 7 (from 40 to 80%), but I could not find a setting to fix this to upgrade to Windows 10. At some point, I installed a critical update of Lenovo. I think it was an update of the firmware. Since then, the charges of the battery to 100% every time I plug the. I want to charge the battery the way I used to. I saw this parameter called Mode of Conservation in online discussions.

This message indicates that it is possible to access the Conservation Mode in 10 Windows through the application of Lenovo settings:

    http://www.improdia.com/tech-tips/Lenovo-battery-conservation-Windows-10/

I followed the instructions in the post above, but my Lenovo settings app does not have a power for the Conservation Mode setting. I have the status of power, always on USB, rest of battery meter, but no Conservation Mode.

Does anyone know how to access the Conservation Mode in Windows 10? Or does anyone know how to get the same functionality via another way? Thanks in advance for your help.

As far as I know, this is not possible in Windows 10. This feature has been removed. I'm sorry.
