Activate the battery Conservation Mode in Windows 10

Lenovo ThinkPad E540 laptop running Windows 10

When I got this machine, he was running Windows 7. With the help of Lenovo Power Manager, I was able to put the battery to load only when it fell below 40% and charge to a maximum of 80%. This configuration is designed to extend the useful life of the battery. My laptop is plugged in most of the time. I only use the battery for short periods.

When I put the battery always charged as he did in Windows 7 (from 40 to 80%), but I could not find a setting to fix this to upgrade to Windows 10. At some point, I installed a critical update of Lenovo. I think it was an update of the firmware. Since then, the charges of the battery to 100% every time I plug the. I want to charge the battery the way I used to. I saw this parameter called Mode of Conservation in online discussions.

This message indicates that it is possible to access the Conservation Mode in 10 Windows through the application of Lenovo settings:

http://www.improdia.com/tech-tips/Lenovo-battery-conservation-Windows-10/

I followed the instructions in the post above, but my Lenovo settings app does not have a power for the Conservation Mode setting. I have the status of power, always on USB, rest of battery meter, but no Conservation Mode.

Does anyone know how to access the Conservation Mode in Windows 10? Or does anyone know how to get the same functionality via another way? Thanks in advance for your help.

As far as I know, this is not possible in Windows 10. This feature has been removed. I'm sorry.

    Hello ZRAMN,

The probable cause for the reason for the battery icons are not displayed in the notification could result from notifications being off for the battery icon under the Turn system icons on or off. You can enable notification.

  • I need to activate the battery myself?

Hi, I just bought a Thinkpad T520, and I wonder if I should activate the battery myself or not.

By 'activate the battery', I mean completely charge and uncharge 2 or 3 times during more than 10 hours.

Someone says that the battery must been activated before it was shipped.

    Thank you very much.

That has already been done for you at the factory.

Nope, that didn't do it.  I'm talking in the real mixer.

On the far left of the Mixer Panel, there are controls swirl down to control what is visible. Inside we need to be 'spinning' before the counters or fader become visible. So if, next to the triangle of Whirlpool, you can see the M S R and I buttons, then give it a click. Now, next to him, you should see the 'Read' buttons, and the meter and the attenuator must return.

    Hello

The history is confusing for me.
Just a few questions to the beginning:
What operating system do you use?
You use Toshiba power saver or power Windows options?

If you know that this laptop turns off when you leave why do the restart if you know it goes off even when?

You let your laptop with no activity, or you leave while an application is running?
Maybe is related to overheating decommissioning.

    > Now when I enter the setup of the bios when booting, it is by default in supervisor (e) mode no and I can't find any way to ask me the password to allow me to make changes.

Usually if the supervisor password has been set, you can access the BIOS by pressing F2.
Now you need to insert the supervisor password, or you can proceed to restrict access to the BIOS options by pressing the F11 key.

If you have inserted the right supervisor password, you could delete it again in the BIOS Security tab.
