Get "pdftopdf quit unexpectedly" error when you try to print

I'm trying to print on a printer Epson Stylus Photo R2400 connected to the Mac Mini. I tried to reinstall the printer driver. Did not work. I then redownloaded the sw Epson printer (has removed the printer from the printers installed and selected again - reinstalled in the system preferences, he got an error message that the printer driver is missing some parts and I would like to fix it - I clicked on repair and it was installing something.) Later he has been admitted in the list of printers.

I also downloaded the application Epson uninstall to completely remove everything and the printer driver before reinstalling the sw. I get the above error and cannot print. I can print on my Brother laser printer, so this isn't in itself a printing problem, but somehow I bollixed the Epson driver or something in the operating system it uses / needs to be able to print.

The driver appears to be installed correctly, I can * see * the printer - I can open the printer utility application and work in (checking ink, the ink levels, etc.).

But whenever I try to print on the Epson inkjet, I get the error "pdftopdf quit unexpectedly.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

  • Blue screen error when you try to print Adobe PDF files

    Original title: the computer crashes when I try to print Adobe PDF files.

    I unintalled and reinstalled remains 9.3.3 and it still won't print. The OS crashes when you try to print a .pdf file. I can open the document and view the file but not print, just the blue screen and restarts. I opened a word document, print and print text files. It will print anything but Adobe files. Is there any help out there?

    HonoriusIII

    Thank you for your support and help Sicard. I finally got to the last version of Adobe as the culprit. It seems that the latest version 9.3.3 was causing problems. I uninstalled the software, cleaned the registry and other remains and installed the various editions of Adobe. Seems that Vista likes only one software version which proved Adobe 8.0. Once I installed the software, found a few .pdf documents and tried to print. Not only did it print well, it was very fast. Of all the places to find the 8.0 Adobe has been installed on my recovery disks. I don't think Microsoft product (s) are the root cause. Something in Adobe was the cause of the crash. I have the error message has not write against accidents, but it dumped memory and restart is fine, no conflict of driver. Only thing I did after each accident was to defragment. the hard drive and RAM by using certain tools. Vista ran fine since. I know a lot of people out there do not like Vista, but I did have a lot of problems with the software. I found problems with other types of competing software and work with software developers using their products in beta. The crash of the problems were not these beta products. I believe in keeping software simple and effective, it seems that Adobe will conversely making it too complicated software and an application's entire concept.

    Thanks for you help,

  • Receive no printers installed error when you try to print. There is still printers, and one has been defined as the default value.

    We have seen an increase in the number of calls from customers indicating that when they try to print from Outlook 2007 (Windows XP SP3 + all updates), they receive an error indicating that there is no installed printer.  However, they have not only more than one printer installed, but they also have a default printer set.  Restart the print spooler solves this problem, but it is not clear what caused its all first.  When we stop and possibly restart the spooler, we notice that for a while, it crashes when stop and the following appears in the event viewer:

    Event type: error
    Event source: Service Control Manager
    Event category: no

    Related to this, last week we received a number of calls from users telling us their machines suspended once during the logon process to enter their credentials.  Even 20 minutes of waiting does not solve the problem and restart the machine took care of her.  We have a long login script so I added the lines that surround and inside the different functions, calls, WMI queries etc. within a specified period that he might be the cause of the problem.  Turns, when the script got to the point where he enumerated the list printers, he hung the machine.  (The code below at the bottom.)  Once this comment out code, users were connecting to fine, and the same timeout error preceding appeared in the login script.  What gives!

    Sounds to me as we have a problem of possible spooler, but outside the removal & time printers and their drivers, I'm not sure where to look, or why it affects only a small percentage of our population and more importantly again, suddenly.  I'm open to suggestions.

    * Excerpt from Login Script
    login_printer_list = «»
    Set colSettings = objWMIService.ExecQuery ("" Select * from Win32_Printer ' ")
    "I already had a 'debug' function that will write to a log file
    "just prior to each registration statement."  Then the newspaper
    "appearing on line indicating he was beginning the process..."
    For each objWMI_Item in colSettings
    "It was not anything beyond the code above in the process."  Where this
    "comment is, I got another line, where he would be out
    ' objWMI_Item.name in the debug log.
    login_printer_list = login_printer_list & "-" & objWMI_Item.name
    If objWMI_Item.Default = True Then login_default_printer = objWMI_Item.name

  • Get the "Access denied" error when you try to play all video files in another folder on my external hard drive.

    A couple of days, I've had accidentally one of the folders slipped on my hard drive in the folder above him and was presented with the "Access denied" error messages when I tried the two a) reglisser it out & b) open it from the record she had been driven to (which was not a folder of my making that is a jibberish titled folder containing two .vdm files it contains first)

    After receiving advice of a friend, I did a restore from safe mode on the eve of the day when he moved and he did bring him back with all the files and files in the right place, but now I'm getting an access denied for each file, I try to play. Whether Real Player, Windows Media Player etc none will play.

    Just to test, I slipped a .avi file in the folder to see if he was going to play and he did it can be the folder settings, I'm just hoping that all these files are now not corrupted and unplayable as I have some 180 GB of data in this folder in more than 1000 files.

  • I get the message "unspecified error" when you try to create a system restore point

    Can anyone help? Thks

    Hi somnop,

    1. What antivirus do you use?

    2. do you get any specific error code?

    Follow the steps below and check, if it helps.

    Step 1:

    Disable all security software and check if the problem persists.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

    Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Step 2:

    Do SFC scan and check if the problem is related to corruption in the file system.

    Step 3:

    I know that you cannot create a restore but point as a test, try to do System Restore in safe mode and check if you are able to restore.

    Note: Restart the computer in normal mode after the test.

  • Error when you try to print through CS6 on Macbook Pro at Epson 7890

    Error "there was an error in the opening of your printer. Printing features won't be available until you have selected a printer and reopened all documents. "seems to be everywhere on the web without any solution.  Epson says it's a problem of software with Adobe CS6 - I can print on all programs on my printer Epson 7890.  They just cling on me after that.  And they have a point.

    I have all the latest updates of adobe and Apple.  10.10.3 on 2012 macbook pro with the retina display running.  80 G of free space on SSD.  New Epson printer ran fine after installation for about a week and then this happened and I was not able to print from.  I have all deleted and reinstalled the drivers and checked all cables.  It works very well with other programs.  Unfortunately, I am a photographer who needs to print from CS6 for efficient workflow - and hey - it should work right?  In my view, it is a major problem and no one has a handle on it at Adobe.  Please let me know if I can help troubleshoot - I retired IT - software development for most.  It's important!  Obviously CS6 throw errors on the printer and does not allow communication to occur.

    Please advise!

    I found that it works.  Finally...

    See if that helps you at all.  Adobe doesn't seem to be on the ball with this one.  Not sure why it occurred-, but this finally fixed it for me.

    Try resetting your preferences file.

    Start Photoshop and immediately press Command + Option + shift.

    Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?"
