  I read every article I can find on the VDI configuration and configuration of the server connection view to auto setting of the display resolution.  My problem is that the width is auto adjust so I can see black borders on both sides of the screen.  In reading several manuals installation VDI for XP Pro, I have read several methods to set the various parameters and none do not work properly.  I read that while implementing the guest remember to install the VMWare Tools ' before 'to install the Agent, or there may be problems.   More information on client computers.  They are all laptops Dell E6410 running XP Pro with billboards attached to their default resolutions of 1440 x 900.

  I'm not able to get the display of macbook to smart tv via HDMI cable.  Here are some of the conclusions that I have. Can someone please shed some light on this weird question.

  Hmm. Have you tried to get your friend or someone connect to your Samsung Smart TV?  It does seem like your Macbook or the cable are the issue.

  Edit: actually re read your post. I think that to see the option detect go to Preferences > poster under view press on and hold down the option key. bottom right, it should appear.

  The monitor should have a TB and adapter power connector. The monitor works on both OSX. ? If so, shut down of windows, connect monitor and start Windows. Your TB 2012 monitor is not plug-and-play with Windows.

  Trying to open the Catalyst Control Center results in nothing: I can't seem to open it.

  NB550D-111 has AMD HD graphics card 6250 and the same Satellite C660D (PSC1YE) or Satellite L775D (PSK5PE) then you can try using the display drivers for these laptops.

  I n t have experience with NBs and cannot confirm this will help, but you can try it and send feedback.

  It is possible that the screen is only capable of 1366 x 768.  Check the screen resolution page (right click on a space empty on the desktop and choose 'Screen Resolution') to see what who said that the display is capable of.  THIS PAGE lists a selection of display of 1366 x 768 as one of the original choices.

  HP Pavlion p7 - 1247c. I'm stuck at 640 x 480. I can get to the resolution setting change, but the display setting is grayed out so I'm stuck at 640 x 480. I can boot into safe mode and I can't change resolution while in mode without failure, but not when I boot normally. I tried a system restore how it was first delivered to me. I can't complete the initial installation, because I'm in 640 x 480 and I can't see or click on the button continue because it's off the screen.  I found there a boot at low resolution option which is where I seem to be stuck. I can't find a way to disable the start-up at low resolution. In addition, it seems that initial Setup requires a wide aspect ration monitor.   Looks like I finally figured it was the DVI cable that shipped with the computer. I swapped the cable with another computer and now it works.

  I guess I should be happy to have solved the problem, but I'm not. Perhaps because the solution was too simple and it took me so long to try it.

  I delivered the computer back to HP for no reason, they replaced the motherboard for no reason. I lost a lot of my time for no reason. I lost the time of four different technical support.

  I think the real reason I tried swapping the cable is the last tech support guy said that he would not be the cable. This proves just that sometimes it's the easiest part of the whole system that can cause the most problems.

  If one HP had shipped a good cable in the first place.  :-(
