  you do not directly get user input. But you should still be able to get what you want. Suppose you have a dynamic action which fires for a 'change' (or other) and who has two or more actions

  (1) confirm
  (2) execute the PL/SQL Code

  If the user clicks Cancel/no in the confirm dialog box, APEX stops execution of this dynamic action and not run "run the Code in PL/SQL.

• Page cancel submission using Javascript not dynamic Action

  I build features requiring little Javascript to validate the page before being submitted and prevent sending if there are errors in treatment.  I got this job with the help of dynamic action that fires before Page submit to a condition of firing of Javascript and an action to cancel the event, and it works fine.  However, the intention is to use this feature in several pages and it would be nicer if the functionality could be implemented in Javascript (for example, the code in the page template).

  According to https://api.jquery.com/submit/ this should be possible:

  during the presentation of the page using apex.submit () (which is probably all cases?), you can use submit it before event like this:

  It could change, but it would be weird. It works, but it is not really written in other than the one in the code documentation.

  Notice also that the event 'submit' is pulled (it would be strange if she didn't)

  Thus, binding to 'submit' will work, and work, but note that Event.preventDefault () may NOT work depending on the browser used. For me it works in FF, does not check the others. You can try to use "return false;" instead.

  I created a dynamic action on a tabular presentation, using a jQuery selector, to check if the misspelled word is null, display an alert and set the focus through this switch. The first time on the page, I can erase a misspelled word value and this dynamic action is triggered. I see the alert. (Focus action seems not to happen, but that is a minor issue.)
  
  I can put the value in their place, select the columns to sort, empty a value of misspelled word again, and this dynamic action does NOT occur. (FYI, there is another dynamic action in this app, save before exit, click OK to ignore the changes.)
  
  I can also access the page, make no changes, sort by header column first, then a misspelled word value virgins and this dynamic action does NOT occur.
  
  I added the "headers" for the report model, td tag attribute to use in the selector. This erroneous behavior is the same, I use #COLUMN_HEADER # #COLUMN_HEADER_NAME or #.

  I noticed the following:

  When I change the column C011 (price) the following values are defined in dynamic action:

  P110_ID = f11_1

  P110_VALUE is everything that I change the price.

  When I change the column C024 (hms_flag), the following values are defined:

  P110_ID = f03_0001

  P110_VALUE = change everything what I hms_flag to.

  the region is updated in my dynamic action, and change of hms_flag does not take.  I tested the SQL query that generates the value of v_SEQ in the dynamic action.   Both a change of price and HMS_FLAG, it seems valid

  solved.  sort of.

  domain c024 references f03.

  dynamic ACtion, step 4 calculated v_member as a substring of P110_ID... and in all other areas, the column and the field (fxx) displayed the same value... otherwise c024.

  I'm not exactly sure how solve it, but see the problem.

• APEX 5: Dynamic Action do not run on DEMAND Condition = VALUE

  After migration from APEX to APEX 5 dynamic action 4.2.5 which performed in 4.2.5 won't work in 5 APEX.

  Event DA: BEFORE the PAGE is SENT

  Condition: Ask = value

  Value: SAVE

  Page contains the button SAVE, in the debug REQUEST window appears like SAVE, but DA does not occur.

  When the condition is not defined, DA works correctly in the APEX 5.

  The purpose of the button and DA can be combined in a javascript function or in the DA himself.

  How this can be achieved in the DA itself is:

  • Instead of shooting the DA "before submit Page', fire the DA to the click event of button. (to do this change the button action to listen for events from DA)
  • In the first real action, run everything you want to achieve with DA.
  • Write another real action, to submit the page and set the application to any value you want. (ensure that the processes we submit are conditional on the overall application, instead of the State of the button)

• Set values in a table with dynamic Action?

  Hi, I need help for my Application first, Apex, please. This page is for users of fuel truck who buy several gallons of fuel and use this page to distribute this fuel among the many projects. These users are familiar with filling in the Date of the Transaction, the Site, the Type of fuel from the fuel tank #, etc. on the top of the page and then using the lines below to split the fuel in different projects.

  Example: The user gets 100 gallons delivered, fills the Page elements on top with the details of the purchase and uses then 3 rows of tabular form to distribute among 3 project (Project1 gets 20 gallons, Project2 gets 30 gallons, Project3 gets 50 gallons). Each line in the form of tables inserts a new record in the table of database of fuel with different values for the Gallons and ProjectID, but the same Site, Date, Type of fuel and tank values.

  So there are columns hidden on the tabular presentation for Site, Date, Type of fuel and tank. They need get these values from the top so that the user doesn't have to type repeatedly. This is my problem: How can these hidden columns to get the values in the top text boxes dynamically? It must be dynamic, or changed immediately if the user changes anything in the decoders (as a typo).

  Just going to each as a column and defining the 'attributes of tabular form' by default for an item and then by setting the default value in the name of the element page text box will only work if somehow, the user submits the page and does not make typing errors before you fill out the form in a table. I need to be adjusted immediately. Also, is it something special to set the date picker on the form as a table for the value of the Date on the top picker? For the moment, I am trying to use the Set button to set the values in the boxes at the top of the page with their items and refresh the page, so the default values of the column in a table can be right. Is there a better way to do it? It does not work for the date picker.

  I just started to use Apex, I only know the basics of dynamic Action HMI. If I should use a jQuery or code in the HTML header or a 'Collection' Apex, be very specific. Page elements above have names like P13_TANK and the P13_TRANSACTION_DATE of Date Picker and the shape of the table has column names like TANK and TRANSACTION_DATE.   I changed the dynamic on this page action to make it work now. I changed the "value Type" action 'Set value' 'Expression JavaScript' and "JavaScript Expression" do the following:

  $v(this.triggeringElement)
  

  This example gets the value of the page element 'DESPROGES', bypassing the server for nothing, as you did before.

  I'm a little trouble trying to set the value of several items affected in dynamic Action (refresh the number of the part to Page 2). Page 2 I want the user to select the order number and fill in the items combines automatically, for example part number Descr. I can make it work for Part_Number, but the same value appears when I add P2_DESCR to items assigned to set the value. I'm probably doing something really stupid!

  Hi Mickey,

  It is not as easy as it should be, even. You certainly do not make something stupid at all!

  Currently the action 'Set value' support only 1 distinct value. You might have other 'Action' within the same dynamic action that returns the other element you want, but it's inefficient, you need to make 2 round trips to the server to retrieve each value. We are looking for the opportunity to put multiple values without needing more trips to go back out of the box in a future release, but for now I think the best approach is to use a custom mix of dynamic measurements, JavaScript and a level of page AJAX callback.

  For this example, I use the EMP table, where the user selects the number and the name of the employee and employment are returned, but the technique can be used for your situation.
  

  
  
  1. Add a page 'AJAX Callback' called 'GET_EMP_INFO', make the type "PL/SQL" with a "Point of process" of "On Demand - run this process when requested by AJAX ' and add the following code:

• APEX 4.2 limiting size of the value dynamic Action

  Hi all, I'm using ApEx 4.2.5 with 11 g BD and stumbled on this problem.

  I'm trying to set the value of a div within an HTML region. To do this, I use one set dynamic Action launched by a custom event "search" when user press enter or click OK to a search bar. I also use the PL/SQL function as set type body.

  I tested it and it works fine except if the content of the value is large enough (about 30,000 characters or more). I can't find any information about a size limitation for the return value of this type of package. I get this error code: ORA-06502 when I'm looking for a big content, and it seems that this error may occur when "you attempted to assign a value to a numeric variable, but the value is greater than the variable can handle", but I'll be back a PL/SQL CLOB variable in a div, so I don't see any kind of limitation. I think the limitation can be in the call made by apex in the background AJAX...

  I need help on this, thanks in advance.

  Wanted to know how to force the 'required' attribute for the element off after that is "activated" by a dynamic action.

  For example, consider employee form.  I would like to disable the column of employment and salary.  As soon as the user enters the name of the employee, I will 'activate' JOB and SAL columns using "dynamic action".

  

  

  And above works fine.  Please note that both JOBS & SAL of columns 'NULL' according to the DB table.  My question is, how to comply with the condition of 'value' Yes, after allowing them.

  Another example would be, when the user selects 'Check' or 'Project', the 'no project' column will be activated.  Otherwise, "Project No." column is disabled (that is, the value is not required).  However, when turned on, I want to apply "value required" in this column.   How to get there?   (I use APEX 4.2.6)

  Why you do not create a function that returns a Boolean, validation of the page?

  You can do something like

  BEGIN

  You can change it to any desired column.
