The cable from the computer to the router is the same one that works > 100 Mbit/s if I connect directly to the front door.

  I need to use the router to run my network for a variety of reasons, but I don't want to give up 90% of my bandwidth!

  Did I miss something? Someone suggested, I set the ports manually to 100 Mbps instead of having their auto-negotiation, but I can't find any option for this in the firmware. My firmware version is 1.1.8.164461 which seems to be the latest version.

  Activate Media prioritization and set the bandwidth downstream to 120mbps exactly. Quit all devices and the app to normal priority.

  I have a Linksys WRT router 1900ACS that is connected to a Linksys SE2800 switch. The switch is not recognized by the router as a gigabit.

  I also connected a computer with a gigabit network card via a cable, but I get only 100 Mbps speeds. My internet commection is a 500 Mbps. If I connect the computer directly to the router speed is about 470 Mbps.

  Is the switch defective?

  OK, then you have a wiring problem. Replace the Ethernet cable with a good cable to know who is connected to before 1000mbps.

  Check if VMware tools are really installed. When you use the flexible adapter, AMD Pcnet32 adapter will change to "vmxnet" adapter installing the VMware tools. This gives you the maximum possible eperformance (no matter what the client tells you: read the post of Tom Howarth).

  The AMD PCnet Adapter these will display 10 Mbps. check you use actually the 'flexible' or if you like to change to "vmxnet" manually.

  I found the problem! After reading each thread only forum I could find on Google. Someone suggested to see if there was a brooch twisted in the connector and of course the middle one was bent! I don't know how it happened as I've only used wifi. It's a little tricky but I folded it back turned and I was ready to go! The chalk of it as not a cable problem or driver!

  Interfaces on a Nexus 5548 cannot be configured as 100 Mbps.

  If you want to connect to the firewall via a 100 Mbps connection, you will need to use a tissue (Nexus 2000) Expander that supports 100 Mbps.

• NIC will not connect at 100 Mbps switch

  I installed VMware 3.5 U3 on 3 HP BL460c blades. I am trying to connect to a switch of 100 Mbps for a VM networks. No network adapters connect to a switch of 100 Mbps, as well the NICs embedded or the NPI NC364M. The status of the env said simply disconnected, and it's not even a light on the switch. Connect a laptop to the NIC with a crossover shows connectivity when the laptop NIC is 1000 but drop down to 100 and the connect light turns off. Connection to a 1000Mbps switch works fine.

  I tried to use the esxcfg-NICS command to set the speed and binary rhythm to 1000, 100 Full Full/Half and 10/half. No luck

  I tried to use ethtool to adjust the speed of the NETWORK card to 100, but the results ' cannot set new parameters: function not implemented.

  The result of ethtool says:

  "Supported binding modes: 1000baseT/Full.

  This means that the NETWORK card supports only 1000? I find it hard to believe that both the NC364M and the embedded NICs are experiencing this problem. Can anyone help?
