Giving n VMs static IP by assigning them to a dedicated Ethernet ports.

We used vmware converter to import one of the physical servers in Vmware.  We had operational and have installed the VMtools on it.  Our server vmware has six ethernet ports.  We would like to assign this server to a dedicated port if possible, but the main problem that we have now it is assign a static IP address.   We have made it through windows and access to our network went from local and internet at the local level only.  When we automatically obtain an IP address, it works very well.  We need the box to have a static IP address.  Any help would be appreciated, I googled for a few hours with no result and looked for discussions in this forum static IP as well.  We run VMWare ESXi with Vsphere 5.1 5.1.

Thank you in advance.

Can you confirm that everything manually the IP settings are correct, i.e. IP address, subnet, gateway address, mask the addresses of the DNS servers?

If you have difficulties finding the right settings, set the DHCP VM and run ipconfig/all for required values.

  • Extended to Airport Extreme Ethernet ports not IP address assignment.

I have an Airport Extreme as my basic router and another Airport Extreme and an Airport Express, which runs from the router.

Since the extended Airport extreme, I have an Ethernet Hub and a Macbook Pro connected via an Ethernet Port, but every time I attach any device to the ethernet port on the Airport Extreme of the device has an auto assigned IP.

Although, when I'm attached to the long terminal Airport Express, it's the IP assignment correctly.

Is a way I can make the Airport Extreme to assign the IP address?

Is a way I can make the Airport Extreme to assign the IP address?

The two airports 'extension'... the AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express... are in Bridge Mode when they "extend a wireless network".  DHCP (the process of allocating IP addresses... is disabled when a device is in Bridge Mode... it's up to your "main" AirPort Extreme to assign all IP addresses to network devices.)

The 'extension' airports simply pass the IP address information to connected devices... the devices 'extension' assign IP addresses themselves.

Since the AirPort Express works correctly, it seems that the 'extension' AirPort Extreme is the culprit.  From what you have told us, it seems that if the Ethernet switch on the device is not working properly. We learn more about this unit before us to jump to conclusions.

    (1) what is a newer version of the 'tour' of the AirPort Extreme or an older version of 'flat' or 'square' to the extreme?  If it is the old version, we need the model number of the bottom of the unit.  It starts with an "A" followed four digits.

    (2) when you connect an Ethernet cable to one of the Ethernet ports to the extreme that extends, is the little green light next the port light?

    Hello

You should check with the help of the manufacturer modem and if it is provided by your ISP support.

    Not really a Windows problem.

Can someone explain how to allow some VLAN on a trunk? How can I get VLAN to appear in VLAN "select it? Box?

    Thank you

    Conor-

    Hello

This seems to be a browser problem or a firmware issue or both.

Of after the screenshots, you should have VLAN populating the menu join VLANS.

Try to use IE with active display compatibility and see if it works.

Also, check your firmware, here's a link to the download page:

    https://software.Cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=283771828&SOFTWAR...

If you are not on the last go and update, don't forget that if you run not bootcode 1.3.5 then you will need to upgrade the startup code also.

Please let us know if this helped.

  • static IP address assignment to TiVo on BEFSR41 router

    Hello

I'm trying to put in place a couple of TiVo cable already on my home network so I can 'see' on my Mac using the TiVo Express of Toast Titanium function and copy the TiVo on my Mac programs.   TiVo technical support suggested that the problem is that my Mac IP address is 198.162.1.100 (assigned automatically) and for some reason some of my TiVo is on 198.162.0.2 et.0.3.  They suggested that I have manually assign a static IP address for the for put them in 'sync' with my Mac address - that is to say, something in the range 198.152.1.xxx of TiVo.

I was able to assign a static IP address of 198.162.1.109 to the head of the TiVo (and my Mac is still not see it), but I received an error message when I tried to assign 198.162.1.110 to the other TiVo.   Technical support suggested I check with you on assignment of the IP address via the router.  Can you tell me if this is possible and if so, how?

    Thank you!

If the TiVo is Gets an IP 192.168.0.2 or similar when using dynamic/DHCP/Auto IP addresses means the TiVo is connected to a different router or get an IP address from another DHCP server.

    1. Please check your wiring. Your modem should connect to the internet, the port of the BEF everything is connected to the BEF. If the modem has additional LAN ports, a modem/router combo device. Do not use additional ports on the modem/router combo.

    2. If wiring is OK, as previously indicated another reason for a 192.168.0.2 automatic address IP sharing a computer inside your network that has been configured for an internet connection. With internet connection sharing you can share an internet connection through this computer. To do this, the computer will assign 192.168.0. * IP addresses on its side LAN. Please check your computers if there is one that has internet connection sharing enabled.

  • Static IP address assignment to a device? (An XBox)

I'm trying to set up my XBox One to broadcast remote but I am completely ignorant when it comes to networking and rely the economy on the default settings. There seem to be three main parts to this process described here:

    - Port forwarding (which was explained by DexterJB. (Thank you!)

-Allocating an address static IP to the device (This step)

    - and implementation of dynamic DNS

I was wondering if someone would be willing to walk me through step of assigning a static IP address to a device, which in this case is my XBox One.

I really wanted to know that for a while for other devices, but do not know if it is a thing of router or a computer thing. I'd appreciate any help.

    Hi @varxtis,

    You are welcome!

Instead of setting a static IP address for your XBOX, you can make a reservation address so that the XBOX will have a compatible IP for port forwarding you have done. You can refer to the link below for the steps on how to do it.

I don't know much about the TCP/IP settings.  OS is XP Pro SP3.  I have a DSL router from single port connected to a simple switch 5 ports, then two CAT5 cables will switch on both computers.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello

Two computers cannot connect to the same connection using the same IP address. Each computer on the network must have its own unique IP address.

You need to get a cable/DSL router. Configure the WAN port (Internet) side with your static IP address and connect all the computers the and other equipment network on the side of the router LAN.

Generally, it looks like this, http://www.ezlan.net/network/router.jpg

P.S. You don't need to use the wireless if you do not, it is very difficult to find a new wireless router.

In addition to what Rob has already said, the answer to your question is: given that the optimizer is smart and recognizes that your WINDOW TYPE in your second query (aka NWR) is never accessible and therefore simply ignores this part of the application. It turns it to a simple statement like this:

    update test t
       set col = (select '1'
               from (select rowid
                       from test) t1
               where t.rowid = t1.rowid);

who can simply access the TEST table for each row of rowid, while your first query should do recursively for each TEST line full table scan. Using a statistics AUTOTRACE, you should see a large difference in e/s logic for both statements.

Using DBMS_XPLAN. DISPLAY could reveal more details what happens, if you're already on 9i or later version (seems to be 9iR2).

  • How to assign a static IP (external) to a virtual computer when provisionng by vCAC

    Hi all

I'm trying to figure out how to assign a static IP address at a request of vCAC via vCO prior to cloning. Without a static IP address assigned, cloning ends well and gets a random IP address... but I want the virtual machine to use a specific IP address.

I use the pack of extensibility (not dynamic Ops Designer).

Is it possible to do? Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Are you planning on using network profiles for a pool of static IP addresses? If this is not the case, will provide you the IP address at the time of the request? For static IP address assignment, put in the property custom 'VirtualMachine.Network0.Address' and associated custom properties (see page 251 of the Guide) and if you have a comment specified in your plan customization, it will use this information to provide the IP address.

  • Static IP issues

I have a WRT310N and the wish to set up static IP addresses for my systems, to enable the port forwarding on both PC, I read the FAQ and think I understand what to do, but I have a question.

I have 5 PC's on network 1 as my server with WHS, 4 others using XP Pro over a DVR, these are hard wired to the router (I also use a switch).  An Xbox 360 sometimes also joined the network during visits to my son.

In addition, using the Wi - Fi connection wireless is a MAC, a MAC capsule, a WII and my phone company from time to time.

It works fairly well except for access the WHS and P2P server who needs static IP to allow port forwarding or perhaps trigger.

    The question is:

Can I turn off DHCP as suggested in most articles, use fixed leave it on the DVR (etc) can be always benefit from his dynamic internal IP or IP address? I prefer the wireless devices to use dynamic IP because they change of site.

There is no way I can mess with my configuration of laptop company which I use as well wired and wireless depending on the task, and I don't think that I can access the DVR in any case.

I intend to use the static IP away from standard pool Beach wells.

    So DHCP enabled or disabled?

If you have devices that you can't mess with the IP config on (for example the mobile company) or devices that visit from time to time, it is more convenient to have configured them to use DHCP, so leave it on. You can limit the size of the assigned DHCP address range if you need to, but make sure that enough addresses for all it takes to get a dynamically. If active DHCP on the router does no harm if you have other devices using static IP addresses, but as you say, make sure that the static are not the DHCP pool. In addition, I'm not too familiar with WHS, but make sure that it is not also running DHCP server. Two DHCP servers on the same network will be problematic.

  • assigning support pedals

    Hello

I spent the last two weeks trying to get my head around Mainstage 3.  I have three keyboards and three support the pedals and I'm having a hard time get the pedals to act independently of each other, and I have problems by assigning them.

I run a fairly zippy MacBook Pro with a usb hub.  My main keyboard is an old Yamaha P60 passed a generic USB-to-MIDI Converter, my second level is a Roland VR - 09 (what a shame these couplings do not send midi messages!) and I also have a 25 M - Audio oxygen.

Each of the keyboards has a sustain pedal connected, three in total.  My plan is to have the left (connected to the M-Audio exclusively as a patch changer) and the other two, performing various functions (tap tempo, rotating, sustain etc.) depending on what the patch needs.

For example, on a small island on the keyboard of the P60 sustain interested the right pedal (plugged into the P60) controlling and the middle (plugged into the VR-09) control rotating cabinet.  I can just about manage.  But if, say, I want the right pedal (connected on the P60) controlling the rotation on the 2nd layer and the Central pedal (plugged into the VR09) control the sustain on the M-Audio Layer, that I'll meet trouble.

Basically, the P60 pedal seems to act as a sustain anything, and the Central pedal seems to affect the rotary, even if I don't want it.  In addition, the pedals themselves have grouping so let's operate one or two others of nasty way.

On a similar topic, I can not find how ungroup controls in general... it's maybe a related problem?

    Can anyone offer advice?

    See you soon

    Richard

Let's start with separate pedals. Chances are they are always assigned to all available mode. First select a pedal to sustain on the layout. In the Inspector to control screen, select the MIDI port. Your MIDI devices are displayed here (they are greyed out on the next page because they are not currently connected). Select the MIDI device that is desired for each pedal. You can also add text labels in the Inspector.

In edit mode, at the concert level, select each of the pedals and assign it to send to all > P60, VR-09 or oxygen 25 > support. You can override the settings later at the level of the game or patch. Note that in the previous step, I selected the display setting. Now, when I replace the pedal level of patch and send a command to the rotor speed, the display changes accordingly. Override allows you to send any pedal in any parameter on any keyboard. With respect to the assignment of a pedal to the next update, set up at the concert level and do not ignore it. In layout mode > screen control inspector set type/press release. This will ensure that it advances only a patch by the press.

  • Static IP address of WiFi requires the DNS server

I was able to confirm this on two separate MacBook Pro (various models) the two Yosemite running 10.11.4.

After assigning a static IP address to the wireless network interface, the MacBook ping to a address beyond the gateway by default unless there is also a DNS server on the wireless interface. I wouldn't need a public IP address ping DNS server.

    For example:

    This method works.

    But it does not work:

At least I have change the DNS like this:

    Then it starts working again.

I tried to initiate a capture of packets and the MacBook is not even send ping on the wireless interface requests unless there is a static DNS server assigned.

Can anyone other confirm/deny this behavior for me?

    Thank you

    Rob

What exactly are you trying to do?

You try to assign a Mac with a LAN IP address? If so, do it in the router by selecting an IP address on the local network to use with the Mac Machine (MAC address). This assumes that your router is your DHCP server. Otherwise, you need a DNS server that is running on your local network to be able to distribute IP of DHCP addresses.
