GPU support

Hello

Just bought a new iMac with the following specifications:

Screen Shot 2015-07-29 at 11.40.24 PM.png

Currently using the latest version after effects CC 2015

Screen Shot 2015-07-29 at 11.42.31 PM.png

Now, I noticed it in my settings (not available - GPU CUDA driver or incompatible device): wanted to check if this specific graphics card is supported in CC. Otherwise how can we get this support

Thank you

You can not. Supported GPU for 3D Raytrace requires an nVidia GPU. That said, this is a deprecated feature and will not be developed further, so better look for alternatives like learn how to use the Cineware or obtaining of plug-ins such as 3-d element.

  • GPU support without direct i/o

    Hey there,

I was wondering if anyone knows if VM can use the GPU without direct IO?

I have an old Dell PE2950 with 2 x 5460 CPU and there no vt - d. Now I use some applications on different virtual machines that can take advantage of a GPU and see option to activate the 3d and specifify the amount of video RAM; However, I don't know if buying a video card will help or not. I can get a PCI express 1 x gt520 video card.

Someone at - it ideas about a video card and if she can make use of the GPU? I'm not so concerned about CUDA support since I did not anyway the processor with vt - d.

    All thought educated is apperciated,

    Thank you!

Without the support of VT - d - No.  Support '3D' is emulated processor.

  • Change of GPU support?

    Hello

Since the update yesterday I have more freedom to use CUDA with my Nvidia GT240.

It doubled my render times and the first in general is quite slow (which is not if strange because it does not use more the GPU)

Y at - it a reason for this in the update or do I have to change something somewhere?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jens

    Hi ilyes Singh!

First decommissioning, did the trick! Thank you very much!

Is there a chance that this will change in future releases as the 2015.3 or should I avoid updating until I have a new GPU?

  • Iris GPU 1536 MB Intel does support UHD?

    Hi all!

Just a short-term: is Intel Iris 1536 MB GPU supports the UHD?

It's in my Mac mini, 3 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.

    Thank you!

With UHD say 3840 x 2160? Yes, it will work but only at 30 Hz.

If you aim at 4096 x 2160, the refresh rate will be limited to 24 Hz.

So far, the GPU is not officially supported with Premiere Pro.

But you can always install or use Premiere Pro with these cards. (NOTE: it might give you some performance related issues)

These cards are still in the testing phase and once our team of engineers is done with all the tests, it will be updated on this document:

Is it possible to disable the GPU dedicated on the L850.
Through the BIOS or something else, so that the laptop works on the onboard graphics on the CPU.

    Thank you

    Hello

What L850-xxx you exactly and what dedicated GPU support?

Laptops that support technology Optimus (with nVidia GPU) could switch automatically between the GPU (Intel) internal and external nVidia GPU and it depends on the application running.

In some cases, you might choose weather, that an application must use internal GPU Intel or NVidia GPU.

On the Device Manager in the graphics card menu I can not see the 4000 graphics card intel, shows me only HD 7670 M Ati graphic card.

I did an update of my bios version 1.60.
    What is supposed to do?

    Thank you.

    Hello

You want to switch between the internal and dedicated GPU. Right?
You said that you have an ATI graphics card.
For laptops that are equipped with the graphic chipset ATI something like that is not possible because not supported

As far as I know, you can do so with the nVidia GPU support the Optimus technology.

  • Does the Acer Aspire 4530 TV output support?

My father has an old Acer Aspire 4530. I am trying to determine if it has tv out capability so we can connect to its new TV with a cable composite VGA adapter. It has a VGA port, and it's really...

I think that its come to Aspire with Vista (not sure if it's 32 or 64 b, but its Athlon X 2 64 would have supported either). It has downgraded to XP.

As far as I've been able to determine, the 4530 has a NVIDIA GeForce 9100 M G. But I was not able to determine if this GPU supports tv-out. You can provide any help would be appreciated. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places...

Welcome aboard, the syntax. I was able to find two versions of the Aspire 4530 comments and neither mentioned one TV. A detailed review listed as optical capabilities with a webcam and the ability to support its own monitor and an external display simultaneously.

After this review, I don't think that it can withstand a TV.

For the NVIDIA GPU, support of Direct X 10.0 is required.
For AMD and GPU, other providers, live 10.1 support is needed.          I happy to hear the answer thank you...

  • Lightroom 6.6.1 + Mac OSX 10.11.6: Acceleration GPU unavailable?

    Hello everyone,

I have a Mac Mini 2012 with Intel HD 4000 GPU and I'am using the stand-alone version of Lightroom 6.

Everything worked very well using Lightroom on Mac OSX 10.111 6.0. 10.11.5 but after upgrade of 10.11.6 OS and Lightroom to 6.6.1 GPU acceleration stopped working:

    Check the supported OpenGL: failed

    Seller: Intel Inc.

    Version: 4.1 INTEL - 10.14.73

Rendering engine: Intel HD Graphics Engine OpenGL 4000

    LanguageVersion: 4.10

I know that this GPU supports Open GL 4.1, so there should not be any problem in theory... But neither Adobe or Apple provides very explicit and relevant diagnoses on what is really necessary, what doesn't and what workaround. I know I shouldn't have updated the operating system and the application without tests but well, both were minor revisions and I naively thought it was supposed to work smoothly... Nevertheless, here are my specific questions:

    (1) who has a stand-alone version of Lightroom with the Mac OS x 10.11.6 functional GPU acceleration? If so, which? (Be specific in describing your hardware also).

    (2) what is the latest version of Lightroom with the GPU under Mac OS X 10.11.5 acceleration? It is dead to me, but it might help prevent people who will barely even if the answer to question (1), it's that there is no version of Lightroom with the Mac OS 10.11.6 GPU acceleration.

As always in such cases, it is very difficult to sort out who is to blame for the mess (Adobe or Apple)... So precise answers to these questions would be really useful for users.

    Kind regards

    Pascal.

If you do not use a 4 k monitor, I myself wouldn't care about the GPU acceleration too.

The HD4000 is a slow GPU and there is not a lot of gain with its acceleration - or not at all and if so, only with a monitor high resolution (4 k or later).

Can someone PLEASE be very specific as to how it works with the new 2015 CC?  I just bought my 2nd GTX 970 and SLI it had.  Now I read a lot of conflicting testimony online and can't seem to get a straight answer.  Please don't refer either items that are either outdated or forums.  Adobe CC 2015 was just released there not too long ago, which is what this new feature.

Is having two 970's beneficial for first use SLI and AE?  Can I use the SLI bridge or not?   Can I turn in NVIDIA SLI Control Panel?  Or did I frankly just lose $330?

Any educated idea would be GREATLY appreciated to help relieve this anxiety.  Thank you...

Eric Bowen of computers ADK is frequently here on this forum, and with Bill Gehrke, can give you the best technique advises compared to your current and future workflow exact. Change style and which codecs you use are very important.

Given that you JUST improved don't panic... There are a few simple adjustments, you can do to get the most out of your current equipment.

    1. make sure your Samsung 850 pro has ONLY your operating system, programs and Windows swap file on it... nothing more. Turn off "Indexing" for all your disks in the system. You will need a separate and quick 'reader' for ALL your other files (images, previews, projects, export, media cache and cache files). The IDEAL reader for this is the new SSD Samsung SM951 PCI, which runs more than 1.5 GB/s.  The performance is going to be super fast. the use of this drive, but its capacity is LIMITED. You would then be advised to add drive hard level of large companies 'offload' all files to the guard. These recent hard drives crashed at 200 MB/s with a 128 MB cache on them and go up to at least 6 TB of size... they are not expensive.

    2. your CPU is designed to be overclocked... TAKE ADVANTAGE of that and try to get the highest stable frequency, you can with it, ensuring that you use a good cooling solution--probably water. Performance will get a significant boost of this MOST important factor.  Of course, your CPU has "only' '8 processors" with hyperthreading from the end superior Haswell E CPUs that can give you sixteen YEARS... but, SPEED of CPU CLOCK is KING and will affect your performance because MOST of the video are processed ONLY with the CPU. NVidia GPU support will BE GREATLY whenever SPECIFIC on your timeline functions are those which can be CUDA accelerated... i. e "scaling", "ultra key", "dissolves" and a host of effects and other features. When it is the GPU CAN speed up the heavy calendar saturated with CUDA effects by a factor of TEN TIMES when "made this preview," or, "exporting media" your CPU has a stock speed of 3.6 Ghz and will be turbo up to 3.8 on all 4 cores. MANY users are overclocking your processor to a stable 4.7 Ghz... Some are more than 5 GHz! You can see that an increase of a full Ghz would give you about 20-25% performance... it's a LOT!

It has been said here on this forum that once the processor is more than 4 GHz, it's OK even to 4K.

However, I've ALSO seen here, (Eric, I think), that certain types of 4K really needs to have a GPU that has a minimum of 4 GB of memory DDR5 video memory due to "frame problem", or "frame buffer".    Thus, a return of the 970 s and KEEP one, (if it has 4 GB of video memory or more). Use the return to SM 951 drive.

    3. make sure all your settings are properly defined. In Windows, power settings make sure that all settings are for OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE so that Windows reduce NOT anything automatically... I learned this lesson on my laptop... the DEFAULT settings have been throttling the CPU and the GPU all the time until I fixed it!

Then, first, make sure that you have the correct settings to allocate the amount of memory for first use... Eric has said here, it should be at least 3 GB by thread (I think... it can called ' base'...) I forgot). In YOUR case it means assign 24 GB of system memory for first, (8 'threads' x 3 = 24 GB). The rest can be defined for use in 'other programmes' of course, you can experiment and increase the amount of 3.5 or another higher.

    4. do not panic... Bill and I have the same laptops Asus who two years now with the 765 m 2 GB NVidia GPU in them and the HQ of 4700 i7 CPU. We shitcanned included and 5400 RPM hard drive and we both installed two quality SATA III SSD in each of the two hard drive bays. We also each increased the memory of the laptop to 24 GB. Bill has already done a few projects 4K basic on his laptop and I have experimented with 4K on mine. On my laptop, basic editing is not a problem with 4K, but addition of video tracks and effects slowing it... However, the chronology which fixes not making it. YOUR machine correctly overclocked, with more memory than we and a SM 951 and a GPU 970 should do very WELL at the moment... I think.   Unless you want to spend 4 to 5 $000 on a new machine of Haswell E X 99!

p.s. If you are working with 4K and 1080 p quality, you need a couple of good monitors. I recently bought TWO 27 inch Acer IPS monitors that are WQHD, or, 2560 x 1440 p in the resolution. They were rated very high in addition to a review and are IPS... the density of pixels is IDEAL... to 27 inches, 1440 p video looks LIKE 4 K!   The quality of the color and the image is amazing. My laptop powers BOTH monitors at full resolution! We use HDMI 1.4 and the other the 'mini displayport' 1.1 connection... (which is also called Thunderbolt version 1). This monitor is only $200 on the egg, (including a $50 discount). Others in this class are 6 to 7 cents.

  • First 2015 bi - gpu dropped frames

Can someone with dual GPU or mulitple tell me if they encounter problems reading a chronology of acceleration GPU with Prem 2015 on Windows 8.1? With my two nVidia 980Tis I get 1,000001 million dropped frames. With a released GPU, I get a perfect reading.

I've been in contact with Adobe engineers, and they are not aware of any questions. I know that the 980Ti is not on the supported list, but with only a single installed things are fine. Whether it is a double thing 980Ti or both GPU would help a lot.

    Thank you

Adobe Premiere Pro CC and GPU support |  First work Pro area

Please note that first Pro CC has support for multiple GPU configurations to export (one is used for playback) to have more than one GPU will speed up your time to exit.

If this article is correct, first will not use both for playback. You can try to set the nvidia Control Panel to set the first to use a card for cuda gtx. then use SOUL to return and let it use cuda with two gtx cards.

Bill Gehrke has used several gpu, it might have some tips.
