• No grid snap to horizontal and vertical lines when moving objects or work plans

  Hi all

  On illustrator CS5 and later it was a feature... I'm not sure of the name, but I call it smart alignment. Whenever I started to move an object or work plan it would be bright green lines vertical and horizontal to suggest snapping to the part or an element or a plan of work... and Center. It was super useful! But for some reason, I can no longer see these guides. Is it possible to recover? I tried to turn on snap to grid and point, but they are not returned. Thank you!

  What is displayed depends on the options settings.

  The Smart Guides have been there a lot longer, but initially without options of choice (less then).

• Beginner question: why used grid snap to guides?

  I'm pretty new to illustrator and you want to create a little background for an e-mail template html that I do.

  I have the artboard the value 800 X 666 (weird, I know, but that is how it is done), assign leaders pixels and placed at 70 and 730 px vertical slides, giving me a centered box width 660px.

  Then, I turned on a grid of pixels with a line each 10px with 10 subdivisions.

  My problem is that the grid is not guides. the origin (0,0) of my work plan begins to halfway between 2 lines of pixel grid and guide lines start slightly.

  Where am I wrong?

  You need to zoom to see the ten divisions of the grid of 10 pixels your magnification is too small to display the gridlines.

  If you notice you don't see 72 divisions for the first 72 pixels

  

• Grid of 2014 for the cc Illustrator snap problem

  Since the update as a result of cc2014 for the last week, grid snapping in Illustrator has been terrible. Literally nothing of really aligns with the grid.

  It is not a bug.

  New rectangles are rectangles still alive. Living rectangles cannot be aligned to the pixel grid because it would break their.

  What you need to do is to convert your direct rectangles to paths (using the command object > shape) then the snap to grid of pixels (by checking the option in the transform Panel). You can do it for all of them at once.

  Created a new file without Pixel Grid Snap activated and glued the art in it... still struggled to properly align the points. Harumph!

  Use the transforam palette which stops in the flyout.

  

  You also have another setting on the bottom of the range of transformation.

  Also check to make sure you saw amek > snap to the network.

  I am filling a text that has been converted to outlines of a ground grid (like graph paper). I need the grid consists of paths. Is this possible?

  Yes it is possible. It's a little easier with the living text like all what you have to do is select the 2 items and make a CMD 7 (mask). When your text is outlines select only the text and make an order 8 (composed make), as a preliminary step.

  I remember not to make any changes to the hardware or the software until this problem started to happen. First of all, I had a problem when I tried to print a web page. All of this print were the grids and graphs. No text at all. Then I tried another browser with the same result. Finally, I tried to print a document from Word and got the same result. As far as I know, it means that the problem is with the printer. But I went through all the troubleshooting steps on the page for assistance from HP, and nothing solved the problem.

  I found the solution. My black ink cartridge has not been completely evacuated. It is now fixed.

• How to send a 4 8X10s to a photo with a laboratory

  In LR, I have a problem sending 4 8 X 10 in one photo that tells a story of an elephant drinking in a bed of river to dry, and then drinking, then reload, then spray itself. I did a 4 8 X 10 model in the LR print module, but put the right order in the film strip in a 8 4 X 10 only transfer in the correct order. We can't drag-and - drop into the right order either. It will not take. By trial and error in the command in the strip of film out of order, I finally got the order of 4 8X10s as an image. By making a copy of all photos on my photosmart 8450printer, on a photo paper 8 x 10, to test the 4 photos, two photo albums are washed out. So I don't know if I send 4 8X10s in the laboratory will be Ok. So how do 4 8 X 10 on say a 16 X 20 with 3 mm of space between the pictures to send to the laboratory Bayphoto, because they require.   My procedure-

  1. Select the folder or collection that contains 4 images. Go to the print module.

  2. click on Page Setup: select 16x20inch paper (portrait or landscape) my image is A2.

  (I don't know what to do here if you don't have a connected printer capable of 16x20inch. Although my printer prints up to 8x10inch but watch large sizes of paper in the installation dialog box. Perhaps other experts have this reply. !)

  3. Select 'Custom Package' (allows to your desired sort order!)

  4. in the tick 'Leaders grids and Guides', the Grid Snap = value grid

  5. in 'Cells' round table: Add to the cell of package 8x10inch. Repeat for 4 cells.

  6. click on each cell to adjust the size, you drag the position or rotate.

  7. slide each photo in desired cells of the film-strip - your fate.

  8. set the "" Print to JPG": click"print to file and save the new image JPG 16 x 20 for professional printing.

  

• Rectangle tool does not properly

  Hi, I have a question about the rectangle tool, I was hoping to get help. It seems to be limited to a height witdth report instead of allowing me to freely create a rectangle. I select the tool and try a line of text in the box but it not begin where I clicked at the beginning, then when I drag my mouse the rectangle is none like 'fluid' and appear to be limited by certain height width ratio.

  I can then adjust it how I want by clicking on the corners of the rectangle, but I have to mark a document with a certain rectangles and this path is not very effective. Someone has an idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks for any help you can give me.

• Anchor points are moving wrong

  I have Illustrator CS6 for mac ox mountain lion. I was working with a vector image and everything worked well. Now when I try to move any anchor point, it acts as if it's not calabrated, for lack of better terms. If I try to move a course it snaps twoards one another, or if I try to set the hadles, they do the same. It does not follow my direction as it did before. Its now impostible to use!

• How can I HAVE me to stop moving the elements of design de.0139 in. (1 pt) increments?

  For the life of me, I can't find a way to get the Illustrator do NOT align or move each item in each document according to the segments of 1.0 pt. This has happened for a couple weeks now and it makes me POSITIVEMENT BATTY! I have no idea what setting I changed inadvertently, but if I try to set the position of the object to 0.46, it will spontaneously change a.4653 inches. If I use the arrow, the object will move a.4514 inches, but I can't put one anywhere between the two settings. All traits cannot EXACTLY 1,000 pt or pt pt 2,000 or 3,000 or... I NEED a special feature to be 1.25 pt, BUT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to DEFINE IT SO THAT the WIDTH!

  I tried to change the settings of the pixel grid alignment; Snap to grid; Snap to grid of Perspective; Preferences > keyboard increment; off align Guides; turn off Smart Guides... and 1 million other settings!

  I'm at the end of my small piece... SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!

  I searched the forum and the web in general to find an answer to a frustrating problem I feel without success and hope that someone here can help.

  I just want to say at the outset: I have snap to grid, snap to the off point: whenever I try to move an object in Illustrator a small amount, it snaps back to where it was initially unless I move a lot as if winking at the point or the grid was on. This problem makes it impossible for me to create everything which forces me to be more accurate than a man of the caves-wielding blunt a club.

  I uninstalled and reinstalled ilustrator with no luck. I'm under vs 15.0.2

  I can't find any preference than addresses / affects the question

  I'm on a Mac: OS 10.6.7

  Quad-Core Intel Xeon 2.8 GHz

  It sounds as if you're playing with snap to grid of pixels; you can turn it off in the transformation Panel.
