group bookmarks?

I searched several locations but cannot find any info on the collection of bookmarks. I know that I can pin them, but I would like to know if there is a way to organize the long list. Please notify.
Thank you

Firefox for Android supports bookmarks sites database. If you need organize your mobile bookmarks using Firefox Sync to connect Firefox for Android and Firefox Desktop. Using bookmarks Firefox Desktop Management, you will be able to organize mobile bookmarks.

  • I want to group bookmarks in regular list files.

It doesn't seem to be an option to move the items recently marked with a bookmark to the main list, either on 'right click' or 'left click '.

Make sure that you understand how such a smart folder list:

    • "Most Visited" and "Recently set bookmark" and "Recent Tags" are examples of what is called Smart Bookmarks folders and are not the real existing folders.
    • Smart folders show a list created by a query of the places.sqlite database that stores the bookmarks and history in Firefox.
    • Smart folder lists show a maximum of 10 entries by default.
    • Bookmarks and history items that appear in a list of smart folder are also stored in another file, and any changes are applied to the element of bookmark or true story.
    • If you delete an entry then the list is shifted upward and an entry that was not previously identified is added to show the 10 entries.
    • Actions such as copy & paste, or delete that you perform on bookmarks in such a list is made on the original bookmark.
  • Is it possible to group together addons?

I have quite a few addons installed many of which are activated when you click on their icon in the bar of the addon. I am looking for a way to group the addons, so that they only take a single spots and are classified together with as addons. You can group bookmarks into folders and I'd like to find a way to do the same thing with my addons in the addon bar.

The module bar is more a default feature in Firefox. Some add-on developers create modules to support a different add-on.

Overall, the group code "buttons" in a folder on a toolbar (if it was even possible), [with the exception of the bookmarks bar], would be complex and could involve the user coding for each "button". I ran into that with this UserStyle - https://userstyles.org/styles/107442/fx29-menu-panel-horizontal-icons - I hit the limit of my knowledge with the Fx29 versions. Apparently some add-ons use new code Fx29 + versions that can handle, while others probably adapted from code from older versions of Firefox that don't 'translated' not well. With these modules each user does need to do some coding for some of their toolbar buttons; not something I want to get into.

No, I'm not a developer Add on, but I 'saved' a few Add-ons that were abandoned after a major Firefox updated so I could continue to use them. So I have some knowledge of the different ways of coding a toolbar button; classic single function key - with a menu drop-marker - and with a context menu.

  • No way to group tabs?

This may not be a question as a function of demand. But I was wondering if Firefox will always have a way of grouping tabs (similar to group bookmarks in folders). I keep a lot of tabs open, such as topics in the forum that I refresh and watch constantly. It would be useful to group them so that they will not make the bar tabs together so long.

You might drag one tab rather than another to turn them into a group (and add multiple tabs by dragging on this group). We could then hover over the group to display the list of tabs in there. This would be very useful, so I hope that happens soon. Thank you.

Firefox 4 will be a feature called panorama that allows to group tabs. To learn more about Firefox 4 see http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/beta/features/

  • Only the tab to load once clicked at the opening of the large groups of bookmarks

I have a folder of bookmarks that contains a few sites I like to visit regularly. When I want to open all of these sites at the same time, I opens the bookmarks folder, scroll to the bottom of the file and click on "Open all in tabs". This opens * and * charge all of the bookmarks contained in this file at the same time.

I would like to change it then, instead of the opening tabs * and * loading at the same time, they open at the same time but * wait * be clicked before loading.

The desired behavior can be demonstrated when you restart Firefox with several tabs open, but only the current tab load after reboot, with others waiting in the tab bar to be clicked before loading.

    All advice is appreciated.

    Thank you!

Technically, you give the browser the command to open several pages at once. I get that you want to make Firefox, but it is currently not possible.

If you wish, you can use the group your tabs function (http://mzl.la/KrLdDR). In this way, you can just pass grouped tabs display, and then select the tab you want to load individually.

If Firefox is set to not load the legs up to this that selected, you don't load these tabs in the background. And, you can't have these tabs open in the window at any time.

Personally, I have seven different groups of handling anywhere between 80 to 130 tabs at any time, so don't load it the tabs until the selected feature really helps me.

I group of tabs for online shopping, work, social media, YouTube etc.

I hope this will at least limit the damage for you a bit.

P.S. I tried to find an add-on to help you with your problem, although I did not find one.

  • Cannot sort bookmarks; they are divided into two groups

I am trying to sort the bookmarks in the bookmarks Menu by name. They seem to be divided into two groups with no demarcation between them. The first group ends with "Windows"; the second group starts with 'test ideas '. In the list in the bookmarks Menu, "Essay Ideas," comes just after "Windows". Right click on the bookmarks Menu and choose sort by name doesn't fix this.

There are separators between these two groups?

Can drag you these bookmarks manually in the order you want?

  • How do you export groups of tabs, bookmarks, and history fron a computer to another computer

I found myself replacing my computer for various reasons and need to recover all my data from my old computer to the new. However, when it came to Firefox and my groups of tabs, bookmarks and history, I have not found any real way to export them to the other computer. is it possible to record all this information and then move it to the new computer? It's exhausting to have to lose all my save information as well as all of the tabs that I have because I need them and it takes a long time to copy and paste all my address in a text and saving it like that.

in the links list, I read on registration and export and restore everything except for groups.

Of course, it would be nice if they just don't go away, but as long a they do (as with the last upgrade FF8.0) I would like to know where they are stored (so I can get time machine) and how I can export for use on other devices.

It would also be useful for FF sync to synchronize them - there is no mention of this - that's why I stayed with Xmarks for the moment - as has also lets me sync with Chrome and Safari.

  • 9.1 ASA + ACS 5.4 SSL Web portal bookmarks according to the ad group.

    Hello.

Having some problems with ssl vpn on ASA 5515-X.

I have ASA (9.1) connected to the web portal without client ssl ACS (5.4) and set up mobile client anyconnect. ACS also have connection to Active Directory.

So he has set up this group AD users, for example, the VPN_clients connect via the anyconnect client or no client via SSL web page. And it works very well.

My goal is to make different bookmarks portals SSL (in terms of strategies of different group ASA) according to the users AD Group.

For example: I have 3 groups in AD: VPN_admin, VPN_Finance, VPN_Logistic. I want that the users in the group after authentication to SSL web portal would see only their own bookmarks available only for their group.

As I inderstand once ACS authentication process must respond to ASA which the user consist of ad groups and ASA should choose the group policy right for the user, but I have no experience how to do that?

    Hello Ivan,.

You're right, ACS can leave the ASA what group policy is to assign based on the RADIUS of the 25 attribute.

    Measures on the ACS:

1 - definition of ad groups:

2 set the authorization profile tab elements of the policy:

    3. create the policy and authorization access criteria:

    Then, on the ASA:

1 create a group policy and name it.

    2. through the ASDM, create and assign bookmarks to this group policy.

3 - once a user authenticates, the ACS sends 25 attribute, which contains the string 'OU = it'.

4 - ASA seeks group it strategy and assigns it to the user's session.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    HTH.

  • Is it possible to edit URL bookmarks directly in large groups?

I've got around a large amount of bookmarks including changed links because the site that it was changed servers/domains. As is a different URL than is in the bookmarks, Firefox doesn't recognize as the same page. In this case, the identification for each page remains the same; I just need to change the beginnings of each URL - for example, http://www.example.com/Lorem/Ipsum/ID34566 to https://pages.example.com/Lorem/Ipsum/ID34566.

Is it not possible to go to the file where the list of bookmarks is stored and then just use a "find all" and "replace all" function or a similar way edit bookmarks massively?

I guess ISPOL talk not in double Favorites, but rather many bookmarks for the same domain and for individual pages in this area.

Firefox stores the bookmarks (and the history of navigation and downloads) in the places.sqlite file in the profile folder. With Firefox closed, a user could edit this file using a Sqlite Manager - external program or add-on to Firefox, but would require some knowledge of the sqlite query commands and be able to recognize a bookmark of the navigation history. But the last could be solved by deleting the browsing history before starting to change.
    http://www.sqlabs.com/SQLiteManager.php
    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/SQLite-Manager/

If I wanted to, I export my bookmarks in bookmarks.html format and save this file on my hard drive. Can I open this file in a text or HTML editor and change the URL as needed - using 'find '. Then I would put this file to import into Firefox.
But before you import it in Firefox, I would delete all of the existing bookmarks in Firefox. HTML files imported into Firefox bookmarks, Add existing bookmarks, not replace them as with JSON backups.

And these two aforementioned modules would probably choke on a fully duplicated set of bookmarks, depending on how many bookmarks that you have.

  • How to group related bookmarks (roses, iris, crocus) under a single bookmark (flowers) I have W7 and FF10.

I don't see how I could be more concise - I'll give you another example: we'll, I have several Favorites, by example, Chevrolet, Ford, Audi, Porsche, Jeep, etc.. Suppose I want to reduce the size of my total bookmarks list. In some previous versions, I could go to ORGANIZE, create a NEW folder, name it, for example, AUTOMOBILES and drag and drop individual bookmarks (Chevrolet, Ford, Audi, for example) in the new AUTO folder. I can't find how to do this now. I'm busy in my days in the business world. The IT department (then EDP) referred to everyone as an elitist very remote USERS - we could never ask an even a question, it seemed, without their helping us to reaffirm, using their specific acronyms and jargon! The more things change, more they stay the same! OK, this former user feels better now and is sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding and your help! Thank you! Denny

Or you can right click on your Favorites bar and open new folders there. Bookmarks can be moved or saved in folders - flowers, Auto etc.

Accessible folders on your bookmarks bar is a good alternative to have an unwieldy number of open tabs.

"Bookmarks > organize bookmarks ' has been renamed to"show all bookmarks"in Firefox 4 and later versions.

  • I need to rearrange the order of the 'required securities' at the top of the drop-down list bookmark.

    Hi, useful friends Firefox,.

I need help to reorganize my combo of bookmarks to make things run in the way that I like. I am former fighter user of Firefox (and Mozilla/Composer etc. way back when). I use Firefox 42.0 on openSUSE 13.2. These two are completely up to date. I'm a fan of Firefox, which is the only browser that I use on my laptop.

My question is about how to prefix some unwanted with "ZZZ -" titles to make sure they appear only at the bottom of the drop-down list of bookmarks, rather than at the top. The problem is that these six tracks only appear on the list box dropdown bookmarks when I press < Alt > + < B >. They do not appear in the window "library / all bookmarks" in a way I can modify them to insert the prefix. The six titles that I want to move to a more appropriate (and less prominent) space in the list are:
    View all bookmarks
    Bookmark this page
    Subscribe to this page
    To bookmark all tabs
    Bookmarks toolbar
    Download bookmark modules

I won't be taken away entirely optional. That's why I wish they were downstairs. I just want to get them out of sight, since I was a very organized hierarchy within my bookmark system. I always use strikes, never the pointer clicks, allowing access to my favorites. Those with six in my view area when I opened my favorites to get some desired that URL seems unnecessary. By placing a prefix ZZZ - in front of them, they in alphabetical index would be at the bottom of the list, rather than at the top.

I would like any ideas you have to help me move these six titles.

    Thank you

    Dave

Those are the elements that appear in the list by default.
You can try to give them a higher value of - moz-box-ordinal-group to reorder the items and move them down.
All items have to - moz-box-ordinal-group: 1 by default.
You can set the number to set a specific order of each of the elements.

Add code to the file userChrome.css below default @namespace.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #bookmarksToolbarFolderMenu,#bookmarksMenuItemsSeparator {-moz-box-ordinal-group:10}
    #bookmarksShowAll, #organizeBookmarksSeparator {-moz-box-ordinal-group:15}

    #menu_bookmarkThisPage,
    #subscribeToPageMenuitem,
    #menu_bookmarkAllTabs {-moz-box-ordinal-group:11}

    #menu_unsortedBookmarks {}

The file userChrome.css (UI) customization and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the folder of chrome in the Firefox profile folder.
