Groups of mobility between...

Hi experts,

I am managing WLC 3:

1 WLC 2112 - code version 7.0.235.0

2 WLC 2112 - code version 7.0.235.0

3 - WLC 5508 - version code 7.6.130.0 (new purchase)

Is possible to group the WLCs 3 in a group of mobility

No, it is the recommendation of Cisco, but still 7.0 can work with 7.6 in the same mobility group. So you should get these worms upward in the same group of mobility, although this isn't the recommended best practice (but keep a migration strategy to move away of series 21xx).

Note that you must put all your AP to the same mobility group THAN if the user moves between these APs & you don't want to drop their roaming sessions.

So if you have APs in various buildings, you have no coverage wireless between the buildings, I worry not put them all in the same mobility group.

Identify the geographical area where AP are close & customers wander in, put them on a group of mobility.

Hope this clarify your query.

  • Mobile groups of logic between applications

Hello Experts, we run two applications of FDM - one test and a live. When a company has completed stable, we charge all mappings to live but have to manually re-create the accounts/groups of logic in the live application. Is it possible to move the accounts or groups of logic between applications because it is extremely laborious having to recreate them manually?

    Thank you

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

You can go on Workbench, select export and then check the box for groups of logic. Go in the other application, and then import this XML file.

If necessary, you can go to the XML file and delete all rows that belong to groups, you do not want to import.

  • How to synchronize groups of tabs between computers?

Hello, maybe someone can finally find a solution to my problem...

I already use FIrefox Sync option, and I love how it works. I like how it saves my bookmarks, passwords, history, etc., and it is easily accessible from my laptop.

There is one problem that I have, that is how to synchronize groups of tabs between computers? I already know I can click "Tabs from other devices", but it will be either open them individually or you can select more than one, but in any case I see my tabs in groups. I have so many tabs and I have six groups.

I tried to use other applications like Manager Session, tab Cloud, Session box, and they all do the same thing. They are great to save your tabs, but none of them save in groups. When I try to open all the links will open in a group.

Does anyone know how to perfectly synchronize groups of tabs between computers? Thanks in advance.

Hi vegsire, creating folders in bookmarks tab also is a good approach because it is much less fragile than tab groups in the session history data.

  • Only 24 controller in a group of mobility?

I want to create a controller of the anchor who has a leg dot1q in our DMZ, then do foreigners contorllers for the rest of my company that would be 34 controllers in different geographic locations.  The problem I see, is that I can only add 24 members mobility to the group in order to create the counterpart of mobility as indicated in this document.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/controller/4.0/Configuration/Guide/c40mobil.html

What do people for mobility with more than 24 controllers anchors?  I use a mixture of 6.0.182.0 and 4.2.112.0

    Tim,

Yes, you can enter only 24 static entries, so if you have any comments redundant anchors, so you will need to get two more and split up the load between a pair of anchors comments.

  • Creating groups of mobility with 4402

I am looking to place three 4402 controllers of production in the same mobility group.  Currently, there is no mobility group.  My question is, will this affect somehow customers when I add the controllers to the same group?  I'm sure not, but I wanted to just make sure.

Yes, you're right, it will not adversely affect the customer.

#Mobility Group is useful for roaming, anchor and AP aid smoothly. WLC restart is not required to add/configure mobility.

#If you have similar wlan configured on all these customers and 3 WLCs tried to roaming, it probably makes roaming with delays dhcp failover. Given that it is already harming those clients, feel free to set up mobility.

#If APs on these 4402 s sharing RF so don't forget to set up similar groups of RF to avoid each idetifying APs themselves as thieves.

  • Windows Mobile between two monitors

I am running Windows 7 Professional and have my laptop set in place with an additional monitor. I have the additional monitor to the left of my laptop, but I can only drag from left to right. Surprisingly, I couldn't find another post on this issue.

    Hi Robert,.

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

You mentioned in the post that your laptop is configured with an additional monitor.

I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to help us better understand the issue.

Are you unable to drag windows between multiple monitors?

This problem can occur because of incorrect settings for multiple display.

There are a several screens to move windows between multiple monitors.

Please see the article to find out how move windows between multiple monitors.

  • Problems of Tunneling comments

    Hello

I was wondering if someone could help me out here. I followed the guidelines in accordance with the configuration guide estimé WLC regarding the configuration of the internal controller that is simple enough. Mobility anchor is in place with the controller of the DMZ however I do not know what configuration is required on the controller of DMZ itself regarding the DHCP and the WLAN comments himself. To be honest, the documentation is a bit narrow to say the least.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    See you soon,.

    Martin

    Martin,

I share your frustrations with the documentation to access as a guest. Of what you have said that you are having problems with the way in which mobility guest access is configured regarding DHCP. I hope this helps.

The first part is well documented. Set up a group of mobility between the remote control and the controller of the DMZ. Make sure it is pointing upwards. Now we'll move DHCP configuration.

    (1) on the controller of the DMZ, set up a DHCP pool for invited guests. Make sure that you generate a WLAN and link to the appropriate interface

    (2) on the remote control, your 'management' interface, set the DHCP server or the ip address of the management on the controller of the DMZ interface. Very important!

    (3) build the WLAN prompt on the remote with the same configuration and link its interface to the management interface of the remote control.

Voila... now, all DHCP requests will be forwarded to the anchoring of the DMZ.

Thing I can help with made me know.

  • Requirements of the mobility for the comments of anchor WLC group

    Hello-

I always assumed that you cannot create a tunnel between a local WLC and an anchor WLC comments that are in different groups of mobility.   However, I was told recently (no more details) that it is possible.  So I put to test this.

I'm trying one of my local WLCs SSID comments point to an anchor of WLC comments in a different group of mobility.   I have a forthcoming maintenance window and I'm looking to anchor clients on a campus at anchor WLC on the campus on the other for the customer service does not lower.   Each campus is that it's mobility group.   Trying to set up I went to the "mobility anchors" screen for the SSID guest on one of the local WLCs and I cannot add anchor WLC on campus on the other because it is not in the drop-down list.  This is because it is not in the same mobility group.   So my question is how do customers of anchor across a local WLC in a group of mobility to a WLC anchor in another group of mobility?

To me it seems not possible without major configuration changes.   I don't want to reconfigure / rebuild mobility groups.

    Thank you

    Chuck

Not only is it possible, that I recommend. However, you can be confusing to some concepts.

The mobility group is different from that of the field of mobility.  Generally, I am referring to group mobility as these WLCs with the name of the default mobility group and the field of mobility than the entire list of mobility (where you can set up to 72 controllers belonging to various groups of mobility).

The point is that GroupA and WLCs of to WLCs 1-10 11-20 are GroupB, anchor to work, you at least need to add anchor to the mobility list wlc abroad and vice versa.

If you notice, when you add an entry of mobility to the list, it should ask you for mobility group. If you leave this field empty, it must default to that of the WLC, but on controllers GroupA, you could define GroupB controllers (and specific group b) and then you should now have the mobility between your controllers and configuration of the anchor will be your anchor in the menu...

  • 2 5508 a mobility-group autonomous migration

    Hey everybody,

for some reason, our wlan controllers were built up to be independent instead of beeing a mobility group.

I would like to change that in order to be able to use all the features of the AH.

    Let me describe our scenario:

two WLCs 5508 running SW worm. 6

    -same subnet

-the two are running in mode master controller

-different host names, ip addresses, etc.

-all settings for the local wireless networks and AP-groups (except the APs themselves to these groups) are the same

-altogether now, we manage approximately 100 configured on WLC #1 half rounds, the other half on WLC #2

I don't know exactly why, but when that adjustment has been installed, someone already configuredHA for each access point...

    for example:

-AP #1 WLC #1 WLC #2 secondary primary

-AP #2 WLC #2 WLC #1 secondary primary

but without WLC #2 configuration for AP #1 knowing that it would be foolish, correct?

so my question is: How can I do the migration under the best conditions?

    is it easy as:

-disable the master controller on WLC #2 mode

-Configure the two WLCs in one group of mobility

--> WLCs negotiate their configurations for the APs

and everything is fine after that?

    Comments appriciated. ;-)

    rgeards, Manuel

First OFF... master controller mode.  Then veriftywhat ap should serve as wlc #1 as the principal and wlc #2 of high school.  Configure the belgo-chinois mobility to have the other wlc and ensure that relief ap is activated.

  • Mobility to new comments controller, do not discount

    Hi all

I hit my head against the wall for the last day watching a strange problem with my wireless controllers.  My current setup has been a cluster (8.0.140) foreign controller and a N + 1 alien Controller (8.01.121).  I then had two Controllers (7.6.130) of anchor individual comments in a DMZ with 3 SSID being mounted on the guest.

I have installed a new controller of Anchor Guest (7.6.130) in a new demilitarized zone, built the tunnel of mobility between new comments and foreign controllers. Removed the existing anchorages among the SSID and added new comments to test connectivity.  My client cannot obtain a DHCP address.  If I statically assign an ip address, then I am connected but disconnects 10 seconds later.

So I install a new SSID, exactly the same as I was testing on foreigners and the new controller of the anchor.  Create the mobility group the same way and test my client, works without problem.  So I know that my DHCP setup is ok, my new controller of anchor is ok.

I tried to remove my old SSID and add once again, get the same results, the client cannot connect.

When I do a debug of the customer on the controller from abroad, I get the error message following which seems to be the where it is a failure:

Retry mobility anchor Packet XX.xx.xx.xx.xx.XX: Peer IP: , anchor IP: 0.0.0.0

Once I change the anchor to old controllers on the foreign controller SSID, my client connects immediately again.  I tried my new guest anchor controller on 8.0.121 and 8.0.140, but I get the same results.

The fact that a new SSID works first time with the same settings (just a different SSID) baffles me.  Even if I change the old SSID to no authentication, it still does not connect.  I tried with 3 different customers comes to exclude one of the problems.

I have also repeated the above test on N + 1 foreign controller (running 8.01.121) and get the same results

Anybody have suggestions for something else to test.  My apologies for all levels of different code, but also through an upgrade code for the moment.

So, when you set up a new SSID that is mapped to the same vlan everything works. When return you your old controller who maps also the SSID to the same vlan it also works very well. However when you have the new anchor with the current SSID added new controller, it does not work?  So when you auth enjoying a nice SSID don't see you the customer also on the controller of the anchor?  To have a static and drop all 10 seconds or seems weird and you can create a new SSID on foreigners and the anchor without problem?  What I would do is create a new WLAN using the same SSID, the name of different profile on the two foreigners and anchor. It should work since you mentioned a new SSID works very well. If your WLAN id is 1-16, and then create the new with id WLAN 17 or more, otherwise you will need to disable the old SSID before activating the new.

  • Differences between 2000 WLC and 4400 series

In addition to the number of access points supported, what are the differences in features between the WLC 2000 and 4400 series?

On 2006, you have 4 ports on the back, which can support up to 3 AP directly connected and the port other than your connection to the network and it supports no LAG (aggregation of links). The ports are 10 / 100M, and he cannot be an anchor for a group of mobility.

On the 4400, either you have a 4402 or a 4404, 2 a 2 interfaces concert and the 4404 has 4 Gig interfaces, you cannot directly connect AP to a 4400. The two 4400's support LAG, and they can serve as anchor points in a group of mobility. What are the major differences in them. They set up near the top of the same and interact with the trendy and the same wireless networks.

  • L3 of roaming between two controllers.

I have two controllers. One is WLC2006 and the other is WLC4112. Each of them have own AP (LWAPP). I would like to L3 design roaming between WLC2006 and WLC4112. IF each have different netwok, L3 is possible roaming? Anyone who has designed roaming L3, help me please.

L3 roaming is possible between the controllers, as long the controllers are in the same group of mobility. The WLCs need not be in the same subnet.

  • Group AP VLAN

The installation is in a lab with an East and West campus environment to simulate the two buildings, and everything was working fine until we wanted to use AP group VLAN. Once we have configured the AP group VLAN, updated models AP and pushed out - it broke.

All of a sudden, all the three wireless LANs (of SSID broadcasting) could not be seen, but all the wireless AP have increased. We rebooted the AP, but nothing has changed. We RESET an AP and once there she controller (via DHCP Option 43), wireless LANs came comes back online for the campus of the EAST... WEST Campus can still be seen. We have rebuilt all aspects of installation from scratch and it still happens.

Here's my question - if a WLAN is related to the Interface of wide WLAN management but is then bound to another interface in VLAN of the AP group, does the AP group VLAN definition trump the level setting of WLAN (Controller-> WLAN-> WLAN ID-> Interface) OR do the duties of WLAN/Interface must match between the WLAN controller and the settings of the AP group VLAN?

My thought is that the AP group VLAN - WLAN to configuration Interface replaces the original WLAN controller configuration Interface.

    Here is the configuration:

    WCS 4.2.62.11

    East Campus:

    Cat6506 - 12.2.18 SXF5

    2 x WISN - 12.2.18 SXF5

    Interfaces - East_EAP, East_WEP

    WLAN/SSID-LLeap/lableap, LPeap/labpeap, LWep/labwep

    West Campus:

    Cat6506 - 12.2.18 SXF5

    1 x WISN - 12.2.18 SXF5

    Interfaces - West_EAP

    WLAN/SSID-LLeap/lableap, LPeap/labpeap

Each campus is on a separate subnet to simulate two different buildings.

Of all the WISN / controllers have the same virtual Interface and are part of the same group of mobility - we want to wander between the buildings.

I attach the Leap and Peap WLAN to the same Interface (Eap_East or Eap_West) in each respective campuses and WEP on its own Interface.

(This is done in the AP group config VLAN - under Comptroller-> WLAN-> WLAN ID all the WLAN by default for the Management Interface)

I have Setup AP group VLAN for each Campus:

Lab_East_Group--> LLeap/LPeap related to the East_Eap Interface. LWep related to East_Wep Interface

Lab_West_Group--> LLeap/LPeap related to West_Eap_Interface (no wep in the West Campus).

Models of the AP are configured for each Campus specifying primary, secondary, and tertiary controllers, the name of the Group Vlan and WLAN override enabled:

    Model Lab_East AP--> group VLAN - Lab_East_Group, WLAN substitute allows Leap/Peap/Wep WLAN

AP Lab West model--> group VLAN - Lab_West_Group, WLAN substitute allows Leap/Peap WLAN

You are right, and what you need to do is to have only these three controllers in a groups of mobility. Unless you all wlc on a single group of mobility. The more stable code I think is 4.1.185. If you decide to go to 4.2 then go with 4.2.112. I have this code running in a couple of my clients.

I would also upgrade the boot image.
