  • Sonnet Tempo SSD Pro - does not fit into my Mac Pro.

I just bought a Sonnet Tempo SSD Pro Plus (the same, physically, like the Sonnet Tempo SSD Pro)

I can't even came close it enter my Mac Pro end 2012. On the back of the bumps in the fan card, even with the fan cover pulled back.   This isn't a case to remove the lower lip, which obviously I do, I can't do it AT all, not even at an angle.

I called Sonnet, but incredibly the tech said that it must adapt.

It seems that I have only 2 choices: unscrew the fan and moving it more far forward of the mac (somehow) to cut about 1/2 "on the back of the Sonnet card.  The latter would obviously kill my warranty, and I don't even know if the bloody thing still works.

To my amazement, I find nothing about it online.  It's like the Twilight Zone.

Any ideas?  Someone knows has a video that shows a successful installation?

Pls confirm what Mac you have.

There is no end of 2012 Mac Pro, only mid 2012.

There is a 2012 end MacBook Pro.

Many retailers who sell SSDS have diagrams or installation videos. An example https://eshop.macsales.com/installvideos/macpro_2010/

  • Mac Pro 1.1 GeForce 7300 GT - what type of DVI?

    Hi all

I would ask for more information.

I'm about to buy a Mac Pro with 2.66 processor and graphics card, Geforce 7300 1.1.

Currently, I have a LG L19WT monitor that has both the VGA output of DVI output and I want to understand if there are particular problems in the use of this monitor with the Mac Pro, because I read that there are different types of DVI, and I don't know if it is compatible, or even because I have to buy the cable.

    Thank you all.

    Vincenzo

No problem at all. Simply connect the Mac and the monitor via a cable DVI.

    However, I wouldn't buy a Mac Pro 1.1. (2006) 1.2 or 1.3 even (2008).

They are not very good. 2006 and 2007 are limited to OSX 107 unless you make a cut.

The 008 is not that bad, but the memory runs hot like the previous ones, and often fails.

Better is a 20o9 or later of Mac Pro. 2009-2012 are essentially the same.

  • How to upgrade the graphics card (gtx 770 or 980) on Mac Pro 3.1 (2008)?

    Hey,.

I am looking to update my graphics card on my Mac Pro 3.1 - I currently have a GTX 660ti but I was looking to upgrade to a GTX 770 or, if possible GTX980.

    I have a few questions (GTX 770):

    • Power required: I found a tutorial , but I'm still not sure if the GTX 770 will draw too much power from the PSU?  The TDU is 230w and there are a lot of online chat on do not go above 225w.  I also noticed that my mac pro 3.1 is about 980w - so I'm confused as to why the limit of 225w has been mentioned (something to do with the power being driven by pci slots?)
    • Wiring: The gtx 770 has 1 x 6 pin and 1 x 8-pin connectors.  What/how should I connect to these terminals?  The tutorial mentions buying a Y 2 x 6-pin connector.  Is anyone able to confirm this?
    • Experience: Are confirmed cases of the GTX 770 works on a mac pro 3.1?

Finally - I wonder about a 770GTX since I.  What is the best card (for games) that confirmed cases of work with the 2008 3.1 mac pro?

Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

The location PCle supplies 75 watts max. Each of the two connectors on the system board each supply 75 watts max.

So, you can get 225 watts which for me is pretty close to 230 watts.

Others have successfully used the 770

Yes, the logging problem with several graphics cards has been resolved in 10.11.3 or perhaps a little earlier.

in a cheese grater old mac pro as you and it is a festival of crash in .ai and I would be interested to know if you are also experiencing photoshop bail out completely if you try 'resize' an image?

I tried several other drivers of web that improved things but always authorized random crashes,

    so...

the only solution that I found (and that's a total of "fix" as abel to get one with some work again finally!) is to disable the gpu acceleration in preferences (not only temporarily using the rocket button or the Preview on CPU option in the menu (, but a STOP appropriate in the Preferences section, same "fix" has been used in Pshop to make it usable as.))

I was worried that it would mean a totally unnecessary 'upgrade', but coming from a 1 GB card, everything seems still to be a lot better and faster despite disabling the GPU acceleration, perhaps simply because the operating system and all other open applications (not adobe) are able to use the GPU at least partially? and which allows a little more resources elsewhere. Anyway, this isn't a total waste, and I can now work on files that have been previously direction buy me a new imac instead of the mac pro upgrade one last time... (which turns out to be a blessing, because it seems to imac users have problems too).

the 'upgrade' was essentially a downgrade effect for me in the aftermath, as even though it have 4 x the power of the previous card, Adobe have totally ruined the options found in the application, which means that what was once a system (even with 1 GB) which was capable of an overview of the 'real time' virtually no matter what if you waited so that it runs through a reading of frame by frame 'green line '. , has now turned into an application that can only run previews in real time by jumping the executives, it's a joke...

hope get you it sorted, and I hope that nvidia will give us more options driver soon?

or adobe could remedy the situation! Ha ha, that's a good joke to put end to now I think...

  • GTX 960 Mac Pro crash in first CC 2015

    Hello

I have a problem while running Adobe first CC 2015 when playback the GPU or crashes and restarts the entire system.

The Console connects state that the program is running CL open and causing errors in CL open despite being correctly installed CUDA drivers.

Is this a problem with the Mercury playback engine?

Is there a way to force the CC to use CUDA?

We manage the current drivers of web (346.02.03.f05) Nvidia and CUDA (7.5.25) drivers

We use a Mac Pro 5.1 with a simple 6-Core Xeon clocked at 3.46 Ghz and 48 gb of ram with a 960 GB GTX 2 GPUS. The OS is 10.10.5

The GPU is not flashed to Mac.

In the project settings, you should be able to change that MPE you use the menu drop down.  Mac with nVidia cards and CUDA drivers appear generally all three choices:

    • OpenCL
    • CUDA
    • Software only

Choose CUDA and go to town.

    2. do I need to provide a source of additional power for this or already installed cables will suffice?

    Thank you very much

Yes it will work in a 3.1 based on:

    http://www.macvidcards.com/store/P42/Nvidia_GTX_980_4_GB.html

You must 10.10.5 or later version.

You don't need additional power but yoo must Nvidia drivers

    http://www.macvidcards.com/drivers.html

If you do not have a card that has the firmware flashed for a Mac you will not see a splash screen, you can't use special startups like recovery, startup key Option since nothing appears on the display

This place with flash a card PC for a Mac for $180

You need to install the disks required before exchanging cards. If the existing card does not require the use of one of the connectors on the logic voard yo can likl; EU uhave two installed maps

  • GTX 980 and no splash screen

I have a ti GTX 980 flashed running in a Mac Pro(on external power) 2010. It shows only a splash screen, however, so I attach a No 4 k monitor DVI port. Monitors Dell P2415Q 4 k (except for a random time) show no video until the initialization is complete. This means that I must keep an old DVI monitor on all the time to get not only the splash screen but even to get any video output at all on end of startup. Without a monitor DVI the Dells don't show any video and go mode 'sleep'. Bootcamp Windows 7 displays the same behavior. Any ideas?

How the P2415Q is normally connected? If you try HDMI then try rather Displayport.

If your card was flashed did buy you it from MacVidCards? If so, ask them for assistance.

  • For Mac Pro graphics cards

    Hello

I am looking to buy a used Mac Pro 5.1. I'm not clued up on graphics cards and there seems to be a range of cards that they come with, mainly these cards:

    ATI RADEON 5770 1 GB

    ATI RADEON 5870 1 GB

    ATI Radeon HD4870 512 MB

GeForce GTX 680 2 GB MAC edition

    GeForce GT 120 512 MB

Can anyone recommend one of these? Should I avoid an any of them?

    Thank you

    Dave

If you're a hardcore gamer, I recommend Geforce GTX680, although if you're not the case, I recommend ATI RADEON 5770 or 5870.

  • Cursed GTX 980 TI

My GTX 980 TI flashed by Mac Vid cards is cursed. First of all, it does not start at all when connected to the internal power supply which is not the norm for this card. Then, once current running on external power, he started with web Nivida KP drivers listed as number one in track and a large number of references following Nvidia or Apple IO. The newspaper KP read almost of the same save whether or not it was CPU 0 or a CPU who initiated the panic.  Time to start the carillon was 30 seconds. Now it does not chime at all. It crashes just in POST. On a PC machine I pull the card, reset the ram and shoot all the other cards. Would probably uninstall and re-install the drivers. My PCIe slot configuration has the GTX in track 1. A map of blade OWC E2 SSD in slot 2. A 4322 Rocketraid in location of three and a Sonnet USB 3.0 card into the Groove 4. This configuration works very well with the original ATI HD I'm too slow card. Any other ideas?

If the amount of energy on which connectors is you are looking for, and how have you provided? two six-pin? a six one eight? two of the eight?
