Halo 2 Vista: Error has occurred.

I studied all the possible ways to play Halo 2 Vista on my Windows 7 laptop. All have failed. The error I get is:

LIVE gaming on Windows failed to initialize. Maybe it's because an another LIVE Gaming on Windows application (for example the dedicated server Halo 2) is running on the same computer. Otherwise, reinstall the game may fix this problem.

Obviously other people wanting to run Halo 2 Vista on their computers received this (or other) error messages when you try to run the game on Windows 7.

Before ask you, no, I don't have the Halo 2 dedicated server running or running other applications LIVE. Boot cleaning, resettlement and other options (including the search for solutions on the support page) have not solved this problem.

Please do not give me links to other support pages or discussions to try to resolve this problem (or, more likely, we shut up). Microsoft, please solve this problem by making a patch or update of Halo 2 Vista, so it can work properly on Windows 7 - I love playing my games, but when there is no solution for the problems unsolved, I begin to lose respect and I hope for you guys.

I really don't want to keep passing to the House of friends to play Halo 2 on a Windows Vista-based computer. Please, brainstom a solution for this. Several thousand (or more) people who now have Windows 7 want to play their old games with no problems.

Thanks for reading,

UBE head

Follow these steps:

C:\Program Files (x 86) \Microsoft Games\Halo 2/halo2.exe

This works!

When you initially download the game, he will put the icon startup.exe on your desktop that will NOT work. Also, if you go to start, and search 'Halo 2' this icon is the startup.exe for halo 2.

Have fun.

    Hello

These errors are often errors in registry. Could be caused by some software disk cleanup or somehing else who has access to the registry system´s.

The only option is to fix the system with an original disc of Windows Vista. If you don t have such a, then you will recover you the system because your registry database cannot be recovered, and the system must be completely replaced.

  • Equium A200-1VO - "a disk read error has occurred."

    Hello

I had my Equium A200-1VO since December 2007 and has never really had any problems with it atall.

However, last night after a Windows Vista update and restart, my laptop won't start upward. I get a black screen announcing:

"A disk read error has occurred.

Please press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart»

I've had no BSOD, and no other suggestion that something was wrong, everything worked perfectly. I checked the HARD drive to see if it had come off his link and reinserted it. But I get the same message.

I am presented with the only possibility to use the recovery disk, but this means wiping everything out there and start again. I'd rather try to recover my documents before taking radical measures, if it is possible atall.

If anyone has any suggestions I would be very appreciate.

    Hello

In my view, the error message says a lot: theoretically, your HARD drive may be defective and must be replaced but before that I would test using fitness to drive or another program. Just use Google to find such programs.

Maybe something was tangled up in your Windows installation. About reinstalling Windows?

You didn't back up your data to a second drive? I m wondering about this, because the backup should always be made.
However, if you use an external HARD drive box you can save it on another computer.

    Good luck! :)

  • 0xc00000e9 error "an unexpected i/o error has occurred."

UNLIKE ANYTHING I'VE SEEN IN THIS FORUM!  Help!

Hi all!  I am working on a Toshiba Windows Vista 64 - bit laptop and I'm having an experience somewhat similar, as some people have had here as well.  The computer never starts past the Toshiba screen opening.  All I get is the black screen with the blinking cursor.  I tried F8 for safe mode, but nothing helped.  I can access the Setup (F2), but it's really of no use for me in this situation.  I downloaded the Windows Vista Recovery Essentials of NeoSmart Technologies, but after running for several minutes just to load the files, all I get is a screen telling me that "an unexpected i/o error has occurred", and I get this code: 0xc00000e9.  It also says it might be a problem with the hard drive or the CD.  I also tried Ultimate Boot CD which allowed me to analyze the hard disk to find errors, but the machine turns off after a period of time.  Nothing in these forums seem to apply to my problem because I can't go to the Windows Vista logo screen, so try to reach the system restore, command prompt or anything ELSE is impossible because I can't go to the black screen with the blinking cursor.  Can someone help me solve this problem?  Any help is welcome!  Thank you!!!
    Edit:
OK, after the execution of Windows Vista Recovery Essentials, here is my screen error black verbatim:

Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.

This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device, such as a USB external drive when the appliance is used, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or the CD-ROM drive which is a failure.  Make sure that all removable storage is properly connected, and then restart your computer.

If you continue to receive this error message, contact the manufacturer of the equipment.

    Status: 0xc00000e9

Info: An unexpected i/o error has occurred.

Any ideas anyone?   Thanks in advance.

    Hi Stotten,

This problem occurs because you cannot start the computer with a hard drive. The error message refers to a material error in the BIOS of your computer.

If you have any attached external devices, then unplug the device and check if it helps.

If you have no external device connected to your computer, then it might be some conflicting drivers.  You will have to perhaps remove sound card etc in BIOS and check.

You must also update the BIOS with the latest settings.

You will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer for more information about how to reset the BIOS settings.

NOTE: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    Hello

-No, I don't have third-party backup programs installed.
-J' tried using another disk backup, but it started it count once again as "disk 1" yet I had left off to "drive 6"and I couldn't tell if he has taken over where I left off or starting on even once, I don't want to do because I can't rewrite on my DVD. , because they are disposable.
Because I needed to achieve this, I advanced and bought more DVD and will continue to backup even if I do not know where she had stopped. I think I can say that it not continue starting above and to the right.
I think that the problem might have been that DVD #6 was bad, as he had a scratch on her, even if it was new out of the envelope.
Software AV is not the issue, I am able to do backup, I wanted to just be able to pick up where I left off, as opposed to duty again since the beginning of my documents again. • "An error has occurred applying security information to:...". The system cannot find the specified file. »

    So, this is what happened:

I accidentally threw my wife laptop screen and I bought her a new. The laptop seems to be OK, but I couldn't see anything because of the broken screen.
I bought a pen, took out the old HDD (Vista) and connect it to the speaker.
Now I'm going through old files from my wife from the old HDD (Vista) on his new laptop (Win 7), but I can't access it.
So I did a little web browsing and tried the following.
Logged as administrator, open properties, Security tab, advanced, button tab owner, edit, changed ownership to myself (my wife) and verified replace the owner in the box of submarines.
And then find a lot of mistakes. Everyone says ' an error has occurred applying security information to:
Among these errors, half of 'em had "the system cannot find the file specified" and the other half had "access denied."
In the end, there is a separate error that says: "unable to set new owner (folder). The system cannot find the specified file. »
I would really appreciate the help.

    Hello

    Did you change your computer?

I suggest that you first take ownership of the drive once you connect to the computer and check if it works.

To take ownership of a folder

    (a) right click on the folder you want to take control and then click Properties.

    (b) click on the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.

    (c) click on edit. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    (d) click on the name of the person you want to give to the property.

    (e) If you want that person to be the owner of the files and subfolders in this folder, select the check box replace the owner of sub containers and objects .

    (f) click OK.

I suggest you follow the links and check out them.

This is usually due to a mismatch between what is in the message store and what is in the database and is usually caused by invading antivirus software (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  Try to compact and repair the database and see if that fixes the problem (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).
