• Hand tool will not disseminate billing.

  I have a problem with! Photoshop and! InDesign - frequently when I select an object to move, the cursor will not release the question.  Then I can move the mouse in any direction, and the object remains attached to the cursor. I then have to click with the mouse down a second time to release the item.  As you can imagine, it's incredibly frustrating when you try to position elements accurately and adds a huge amount of time at work.

  I find also quite often that my hand tool gets stuck when dragging a page and will not be shared - I have to type the SPACEBAR several times so he could release.

  In my attempts to try to solve this problem, I did the following:

  • I tried my wacom (and driver) Mac
  • I deleted my preferences by pressing Shift + Option + command-control (and by pressing 'Yes' when asked if I want to delete the preferences)
  • I tried to unplug all USB devices
  • I also tried to disable the Bluetooth and just using the Wacom
  • I tried other applications to quit smoking
  • I tried different keyboards
  • I tried to remove the third-party plugin only I use (FontExplorer)
  • I even restored my backup time machine on another Mac!  (now on an iMac nine - end 2015)

  .. .and yet the problem persists.

  I saw that others have complained on this topic, or at least the hand tool stuck when dragging even when, but the best fix that seem to come with, is t press the SPACEBAR several times. I'm afraid I don't really see this as a solution, especially when you have to do whenever you want to move something on the page.

  If someone has any ideas why this happens, I'll be very grateful.

  I would try to plugins and other third party software (a not just in the Adobe - various Chrome plugins programs are known to cause havoc in InDesign, as well as things like WebRoot and some banking security software). Have you tried to start with the SHIFT key down to turn startups to see if that makes a difference?

• hand tool bug

  Everyone has a problem with the hand tool in 12 items? My favorite use is to use keyboard shortcuts for the tools. I use J for Spot Healing Brush, switch to R of blur and so on. I work in files high resolution (3600 dpi), at high magnification (200%), so I have to use the hand tool to navigate. I use the space bar to activate and deactivate all keeping active repair in place. Problem is that suddenly the hand tool will stop working. It won't move the image. I have found that sometimes the Spot Healing Brush "Context Aware" mode prevents the tool operating hand, for reasons unknown. When that happens, I have to switch from "context aware". But it also happens at other times and became so annoying that I started today using the H key for hand tools. Didn't take long to make it go bad too. Now if I'm going to, say Spot Healing or blurred after using the shortcut of H hand tool, the program performs a repair and then immediately returns to the hand tool. I guess that using H makes the default tool of the next operation. Now I'm left with only one other option: use the toolbar to define tools, or at least with the hand tool. It's all crazy and time-consuming.  It happens with different pointers, trackball children both pen tablet. I have disabled touch pad.

  Anyone else have these problems? The equipment is a Lenovo Y500, running Windows 8.1. The screen RES is 1920 x 1080. My copy of items is up-to-date.

  Have you tried to reset the tool? On the tool options bar, look for a box with lines inside. Click on this to reset

• Stuck in CC 2014 hand tool

  On both of my Mac, both under the latest versions of the Mavericks and Photoshop CC 2014, the hand guard tool stuck after use. It is getting worse. I appear to switch to another tool based on the toolbar, but it does not behave like the tool. Just the hand tool.

  
  

  I have the following without success:

  • Activating/Deactivating the hand with the H hotkey tool, space bar and clicking.
  • Reset the preferences.
  • Reinstall Photoshop and same Mavericks.
  • Switch to a different keyboard.

  I restart Photoshop. Sometimes it works, but it might take three or four restarts. Sometimes I have to restart my Mac.

  A Mac has a Wacom Tablet; We do not. The file size has no importance.

  What Miss me and what I can do? This is a major bug. I had the same issue in the CC, but only rarely. I have never seen this before CC. I see in the forum that others have posted about this on the different versions. There must be a way to get Adobe to watch this and other positions.

  If the problem is not corrected by restarting Photoshop and reset preferences - then the problem exists outside of Photoshop.

  It could be a bad keyboard (stuck key), a utility of the OS (such as support services), a utility program, a bug in a driver (as a driver of the Tablet), malware or even a bug in a third party plugin (no longer).

  Other users will not see this. It is not likely to have a bug in Photoshop.

  Previous posters to similar problems have found the cause on their system: bad keyboards, MacOS support services, bad tools, bad drivers, etc.

• The space bar shortcuts: showing hand tool but does not

  Trial of runing the CS6 on a Windows 7 laptop (x 64). I was in Photoshop (64) and noticed that when I pressed the space bar for the open image panorama, would show the hand icon, but the tool will not work. No matter how many times I click and drag, the image remains. If I select MANUALLY select the hand tool, it works, but the SPACEBAR shortcut key does not work. This problem persists through the 32 & 64 bit versions of Photoshop.

  Now, it's embarrassing confession time. I did more tests and found that the problem has persisted through various Adobe Applications. So I started looking for the causes of the problem with my system and noticed that TouchFreeze, a utility to disable the trackpad of mobile during the seizure to prevent the cursor jump around the screen of the Palm of your hand, was running (I only turn it on when I went to type extended). And, as soon as I left it, the space key hand tool shortcut has started working again. I use a wireless USB mouse &, so I do not know why the conflict occurred. Guess on some small level, the two could not agree.

  I am concerned when I saw many similar messages from the forum as paulburd, which dates back to earlier versions of CS. Hope he and others manage to find other easy patches - I feel like I got lucky.

  Hi, I use PSE8, and the "hand tool" is all that I get (9 out of 10 times I use the software) I can not choose the brush, dropper, wand or anything, it's just stuck on the hand tool all the time. and I like to use the feature: "Auto adjust for complexion" often, but all I get is the hand tool. anyway to disable the hand tool or fix something going?

  Make sure your space is not stuck. Pressing that automatically enables the hand tool, no matter what the tool must be active.

  (1) use the Zoom all

  (2) you must programmatically.  When you zoom in, store the scale data X and Y (max and min).  You can make a button to return to the previous zoom then assigning data to scale with the values that you stored.

• Hand tool moves the entire screen instead of the view

  I use photoshop for a long time and I started to use after effects last month and 'I KNOW' how hand tool works, but recently I tried to mess with some settings of sequels and after that whenever I try to use the hand tool to change my point of view (for example after I Zoom) it moves all over the screen in the composition tab. To help you better understand what I'm saying, think of photoshop. When you are zoomed out in photoshop, hand tool does not work. because you're already all see. but now in sequels even when I zoomed out I can move the screen tab composition and it is not locked and it is very annoying. And I'm not talking about move tabs. I know how it works. My composition label is locked in place, but the screen/screens in this tab moves with hand tool.

  AE hand tool and hand of the Ps tool are not exactly the same.

  PS the editing table (grey area outside the canvas) is irrelevant, because you would normally place of items outside the canvas - it is probably why you are locked in the content inside your canvas, when you are zoomed out.

  In Ae the editing table can be very relevant because the image is more than a window through which you see your trained together and animated elements. steal things from the outside, you can have cameras and outside lights and often end up making one Setup and use with the grey mount table more then the dimensions small composition. These layers backstage will be displayed as rectangular outlines. Suppose you've got some getting used to. Perhaps if you gave a specific example of a workflow where you are annoyed by this behavior and we can take a closer look.

  the image can move from time to time, but you can use the shortcuts to place it in the frame. Shift + / is my favorite.

  I did no update AFAIK, but on opening Illustrator today the SPACEBAR to move the page (hand tool) no longer works, and frustrating, it must use the shortcut (H) instead.  Is this an update of Adobe?  Someone at - it's not how to get it back to normal?

  If the things that must operate simply refuse of (exhaustion all the possibilities (and carefully making sure you (all) make the necessary things)), you can try the list below.

  Sometimes, (some) things may fail or stop working for no apparent reason. When (other) possible reasons/remedies do not work, it is perhaps a kind corruption (temporary or permanent), or even preference settings which disturbs, which can be cured with something on the following list put in place in order to provide a catch-all solution for otherwise intractable cases. It starts with a few easy suggestions and safe) 1 and 2) for cases less serious and goes two ways 3) and 4) to reset the default preferences (easily but irreversibly and more laboriously but more completely and also reversible), then follows a list 5) various other possibilities, and it ends with a complete reinstallation 6). If no other suggestion doesn't work, or if no other suggestion appears, you can start on the list and decide how to go or who can apply.

  The following is a general list of things, try when

  (A) the question is not in a specific file,

  (B) you have a printer installed, connected and turned on if it's a physical printer (you can use Adobe PDF/Acrobat Distiller as a printer by default without the need to have a printer on, of course you will need to specify when you really need print on paper), and

  (C) It is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media (see below).

  You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically may be corrupted/inconvenient preferences); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

  If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

  (1) close Illy and open again.

  (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

  (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

  4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

  5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

  More serious still (it can be serious because you may need to restore the plugins and whatnot if you've customized things), you can:

  6 (A) uninstall (check the box to delete the preferences, if any), B) run the cleanup tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC) and C) reinstall. You can try without step B), but sometimes it is necessary, because otherwise things can persist.

• The selection (rather than the hand tool) by default in Adobe Reader ms tool

  Even if I click on the selection tool, everytime I open Adobe Reader DC, he returned to the hand tool. When I view PDF files in Firefox and I switch to a different tab that has the pdf, the cursor becomes a hand flashing tool. I was once able work around this problem and make the default value of the selection tool, but I can't remember how I did it. Does anyone have a solution for this problem? If I make the hand tool Selection text and images, it always makes the cursor becomes a hand tool flashing when I'm in Firefox and a different tab of one containing the pdf file. I use Win 10. It is very annoying because I often use the cursor to select and copy text and use the arrow keys to scroll through, making it largely redundant hand tool. If there is a solution to this problem, I would be very happy.

• Move the tool and the hand tool works not so I can't move my images.

  I have the latest version of photoshop, and I can't move my images with the tool move or the hand tool. Make sure the level that I want to spend the move tool does nothing and it rises, as if I'm trying to select part of the image that is similar to the use of the Selection tool (as shown in the picture attatched) but then nothing happens. The only way I'm able to move my image now is if I use the transform tool and it's really frustrating and time consuming way to do. I restarted photoshop, my computer laptop, insured without other applications/software are running and still nothing works. I have also tried resetting tools built-in, but to no avail. Any suggestions on how I could fix that would be great!

  

  Hi Serenah: This isn't the tool move, this is the path Selection tool. 2015 CC took a major interface update! The move tool is now arrow 4 sides and just to keep things interesting, tool display changes with the workspace. To reset the tools, choose window > Workspace > Essentials reset.
