hand tool to scroll the timeline

Hello

I've just updated the Adobe After effects to CC15 and just noticed that the hand tool you cannot scroll the timeline horizontally.

It's a small thing, but it slows down the workflow.

Everyone knows about this problem as well? How to solve it?

Thank you

  • Hand tool changes to the article pointer

    I read that when someone creates a PDF with an article, this is what causes the hand tool change appearance and move/zoom on the page when you click anywhere. It is one of the more annoying "features" I've never met. I prefer to use the hand tool to pull the page exactly where I want it to be, rather than scrolling with the wheel, and whenever I click on my jumps and zooms page where I was at. I don't see how this would be useful in all settings, and even less implicitly. Is there a way I can replace it? I use Adobe Reader 9, not the full pro version.

    Would not be quite as obnoxious, but it zooms the page so wide that it requires horizontal scrolling to read all this. If someone knows a solution, please share!

    Disable the entry "hand tool read articles" in the Adobe Reader preferences.

  • My legacy crashes when I scroll the timeline panel

    My Adobe After Effects CS6 crashed whenever I try to scroll the timeline panel. I had AE on this computer for some time, but have never really used it but when I did it never crashed until today.

    My computer specs are as follows

    Windows 8.1

    8 GB ram

    Graphics GEFORCE 840 m

    and 1 TB of memory with left 800GBs

    I don't know what is the origin of the crash, but I want to fix

    Oh my AE version is CS6 11.0.4 and I am trying to change the types of files are .mp4

    What you're trying to do with this video? If you just edit or play with correction of color/color grading, I suggest using the first and/or Speedgrade. No need for AE at all (and they tend to play with the best of the MP4 on low range as your machines).

    Anyway, if you do not need to use AE, take your MP4 in Adobe Media Encoder, choose rendered as QuickTime and choose Photo-JPEG or PNG as your codec. Use the resulting in After Effects file, and you should not have problems.

    How much experience do AE you?

  • Is it possible to scroll the timeline left or right without having to move the mouse to the top of the window?

    First has a really cool feature that allows you to toggle a tool at hand to grab the chronology and away from the everywhere where you happen be left and right. I see that hearing has a hand tool if you navigate with the mouse to the top of the window, but it turns out to be a frustrating problem on my bench I have a large monitor, so up there, just to spend a little is frustrating. I know you can hold SHIFT key and scroll the mouse wheel, but this is very insensitive and in many too small increments to be helpful for what I want. I still find myself all just wishing I could grab the chronology of everywhere where is my cursor and simply drag to the left or to the right. Is it possible somehow?

    The left and right of the Page Page is very convenient. Who might do the trick for now.

    So, is there no way to disable the audio scrub? As I am locating in sound FX and things, I'm constantly wishing I could turn that off so I could scrub through the video and find my points of synchronization without hearing my audio monitors ROAR to me. First has it mapped to a keyboard shortcut to quickly switch it on and outside.

    Seems that the first people and the need of people hearing talk to each other a little more...

  • Scroll the timeline in a Div?

    Example: http://www.bartmclaughlin.com/scroll_div/scroll_div_v1.html

    Edge project: https://www.yousendit.com/download/elNJc2ZOR0Y1R1BWUThUQw

    Now, I want to control the timeline of a symbol on the stage using scrolling. I posted an example above, with a button that scrolls to the bottom of the div.

    I do not know how at the same time Polish chronology of the div when scrolling the div.

    This code below (I got message from Tim Jaramillo here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5058756#5058756) rub the timeline from the stage when it is placed in the Stage.scroll event, but I don't know how to use it to scrub the timeline of my symbol.

    var MonCalc = e.currentTarget.scrollTop/(e.currentTarget.scrollHeight-e.currentTarget.clientHeight);

    var pos = Math.round (calc * sym.getDuration ());

    SYM. Stop (POS);

    This question is similar to my question here: http://forums.Adobe.com/message/6263651#6263651

    Hello

    Here is an example:

    http://www.timjaramillo.com/code/edge/scroll_div_scrub_timeline/

    Here is the source:

    www.timjaramillo.com/code/Edge/_source/scroll_div_scrub_timeline.zip

    Since you do not use the Stage.scroll method, you should not place your code in this case. I think there's some confusion here.

    (1) therefore, start by removing your code for the Stage.scroll event.

    (2) place your button click event code (calls function on Stage.compositionReady) below:

    sym.getComposition () .getStage () .onClick ();

    (3) place the code on Stage.compositionReady below:

    timer runs constantly to check the scroll position and manage the scrubbin timeline '

    var timerScroll = {setInterval (function ()}

    sym.scrubTimelineScroll ();

    (}, 10);

    This function is called when the button is clicked

    sym.onClick = function()

    {

    SYM.$("parent"). Animate({scrollTop:500},750);

    }

    sym.scrubTimelineScroll = function()

    {

    calculate percent scrolls

    var MonCalc = sym.$("parent").scrollTop()/sym.$("parent") [0] .scrollHeight;

    get % of the length of the timeline

    var pos = Math.round (calc * sym.getSymbol('parent').getDuration ());

    Chronology of scrub

    sym.getSymbol('parent').stop (pos);

    }

  • How can I add the hand tool from the toolbar on Adobe Acrobat Reader DC?

    Acrobat Reader DC (I downloaded the correct version of Windows 10, so this isn't a compatibility issue) runs on Windows 10 on a tablet with touchpad online - I have a mouse or conventional keyboard.

    The CD player was installed less than a week ago and 10 of Windows has been installed in about three weeks. Windows 10 is fully updated.

    How can I make the hand tool appears in the toolbar so I can scroll after that I used the tool to highlight? The hand tool only appears in the unlocked page controls menu... So I need to dance my finger on the bottom of the page to make the mini toolbar appear, then select the hand tool. otherwise, I can't scroll with my finger because the highlight tool cannot be disabled. Is it possible to place the hand tool in the permanent toolbar?

    Hi nweissma,

    I'm sorry, but the hand tool to pan on the document is available in the bottom floating toolbar.  There is no way to add it to the toolbar at the top.

    This seems to be the behavior of the design.

    Kind regards

  • Advice to move the timeline

    Tries to get the hang of this thing first and serve as many shortcuts as possible. I've skimmed through and picked up valuable online help (as - +-to zoom in)

    Is it possible to scroll vertically without counting that the scroll bars? The hand tool only wants to scroll horizontally.

    Also, if I zoomed in, how I scroll the timeline? Page up/down gets me only to the next clip.

    All shortcuts spinning open a track?

    Finally, there is a kind of detector of the gap? It is a pain to try to track down the gaps in Framework 1.

    Where is the command "move the playhead to cursor"? What CS5.5? I can't find.

    Oh! Thanks Adobe for changing the name of the CTI at the playhead in CS5.5; It was a totally unnecessary change. Anyway, Yes, they exist in CS5, just like "Move CTI slider."

  • Where is my hand tool?

    I can't find the hand tool in Acrobat DC.

    And when I choose the zoom tool, I always have to zoom.

    But I want to only scroll, without pressing then SPACEBAR...:)

    The hand tool is in the toolbar dark gray (aka HUD) that is displayed when a document is opened. It can be anchored on the toolbar area by clicking on the icon at right.

  • How can I browse the timeline with my mouse wheel?

    I usually have 4 tracks in my calendar so I don't have to vertical scrolling. How can I adjust my mouse wheel to scroll horizontally through my calendar?

    In preferences/general, there is an option for scrolling the timeline.

    If you hold down the CTRL key while scrolling to happen from vertical to horizontal or v.v

  • Hand tool remains active

    drawing with the brush

    Select the hand tool to move the view

    hand tool slider stays and

    the only opening is movement of hand tool

    Other tools may show as SELECTED in the box tools

    but the hand tool is the cursor and the only thin that works.

    Thus, it is not an isolated event.

    I drew with the Brush tool.
    Then I switch to the hand tool to move.
    When I switch back to the Brush tool the tool remains active hand.
    Hand tool indicates that the cursor operation.
    In the toolbar, the Brush tool shows that the selected tool.

    If I try to do a job, the only thing that happens
    moves the sight of the hand tool.

    I have RESET the hand tool.
    I closed the file and restart the software.
    I did all that and restarted the computer.
    The hand tool is the only cursor operation.

    Then as mysteriously as it happened,
    the application resumes its normal operation.
    And I chalked it up to the previous two or three hours of frustration as lost.

    This same thing happened before with the DISPLAY ROTATION tool.
    Suddenly the once used HAND TOOL, remains in operation.
    No other selection tool doesn't work.

  • with wacom tablet hand tool mystery

    I'm having a problem with the tool at hand with my wacom tablet and have not been able to understand how to fix it.

    The question:

    When I'm in the develop module, if I press the space key to call the hand tool and try to move the image using my wacom pen, I can't. When I use the stylus to drag the cursor, screen image will basically freeze (do nothing). If I wait, the picture will move eventually. but I can not move fluidly around the image with the hand tool by using the pen. the same function by using my mouse works fine. so, does not seem to be a problem with the LR. and also, interestingly, if I go in the Navigator Panel, I can drag around the image perfectly using the pen.

    I dug around forums here trying to figure out what wacom or pen windows setting (7) could be the cause, but came to nothing.

    any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey, found a solution! Just disable the GPU acceleration and it works again.

    The GPU acceleration has been a real pain for me together. Everything was slow, unstable and delay. As soon as I realized to activate it things go back almost to gear LR 3.6 and the software is still usable. Aye!

  • How can I get updates in real time in multiple views when scrubbing through the timeline?

    I use After Effects CS 5.5 on Windows 7. When I use the mouse to click / drag / scroll the timeline, a real-time updated view, it's great! If I open a second point of view, it does update this notice when I finished the scrolling.

    I would like to be able to scroll back the timeline and update in real-time (live update) has two different compositions?

    Is this possible?

    Thank you!

    The long answer is: No. it isn't even a matter of performance, this is how AE evaluates the time, because the time is fluid and can be truncated to 1 million ways to time remapping to expressions...

  • Pe10: How to turn off the display of the frame on the timeline?

    Hi - I've just upgraded to Premiere Elements version 10, and I see an improvement in reliability.  PE8 broke with regularity for me, but PE10 crashed yet.  It is a huge improvement fo rme.

    One thing that slows down my low editing much expected PE10 to redraw only the video on the timeline when I zoom in and out, scroll, etc.  I do it a lot when I change a video multi-track project and I get on with spending a lot of time waiting for PE10 to select and reder to images in the scenario.  I looked through the preferences, search fo a way to disable the display of video images on the timeline, but the only setting that I can find is the one that allows to set how scrolls the timeline panel, but nothing on how to control the display of video images on the timeline.  I think it has a setting somewhere given the duration of the UI has endured (maybe since version 4), and the amount of testing that Adobe has obviously made on version 10.

    I guess that I don't have to turn off the display of the frame on the timeline.  I'd be happy with any technical that allows me to edit interactively and not spend hours waiting for the timeline to complete images.  My computer has a lot of horses (quad core i7 to 3.3 GHz, 12 GB of RAM ant compatibility), so it's at the upper end of the material that first Elements users should be running.

    Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have. -Ole Pa

    Looks like you are using the 64 bit version of Windows 7. You ensure that you have installed the 64 bit version of the program? That alone should make a huge difference in performance.

    Then go to the track header (name of the track, to the left of the timeline). If you click on the little icon of film on the track header, you will be able to switch between the different ways the clips appear on your timeline. If you see a period of time that you expect of your video display refresh, try to set the view so that only the first and last frame of the clip is displayed.

    You can also go to Edition/Preferences/general and set the timeline playback scroll Scroll of the Page rather than smooth scroll.

  • Continuous hand tool supported.

    On CS4 XP.  The hand tool has become the only tool that photoshop uses.  I choose other tools until I'm blue in the face, but the hand tool is the only one that appears.  its not just display the hand tool, it works like the hand tool, even trying to do things like resize (ctrl-T).  Restarted photoshop does not help, but restart doesn't.  But soon after a reboot, I'll be back only to again access the hand tool.  Is there something I can do to reset the tools when this happens?

    Hang on your space bar.  Tap it several times and if it persists, clean the crumbs.
