Hard drive G62 during hard drive test failure

I get the following error; U0F671-5G96HB-XD002K-60XT03, when I run the hard drive test.  This means that the hard drive needs to be replaced?  Thanks in advance for your help.

Sam

Hello

Yes, he does. It must be replaced with a new hard drive and a factory image recovery made. If you can still enter Windows all you can save on an external drive...

If still in warranty, the hard drive is an element of guarantee replacement.

Best regards

Hello, I receive the text next message when I swtich the laptop on:

"SMART hard drive control has detected an imminent failure. To ensure no loss of data, please save the content immediately and run Diagnostics in the Testin hard drive system.

    "Hard disk 1 (301).

When I run the hard drive test in the diagnostic system, this appears:

    "Road test: 1."

    HDD SMART Check: FAILURE

    FAILURE ID: PTR04C-6LD763-MFPWWJ-60VF03

    Hard drive 1

    "Test drive: FAILED.

When I start the laptop works fine, internet and all other devices work, scanning local disk C: and D: Recovery detects any errors. I tried to update it, but the message still appears.

I wonder what may be the problem, any suggestions?

The laptop never gave me a prblem to date, I bought it a year ago, last week I had to change the DVD player, which was the only change I had to make. After that, I started to have problems with him, like blue screens, indicating "Critical process is dead" and "kernel data page mistakenly".

I also CD/DVD given to me at the time of the purchase, which I think are necessary for backup and recovery, but I don't know how they actually work.

    Thank you.

Can start you on another disk, mate?

Normally, this message appears if you can boot from the HARD drive or a disk bootable t. In your case, you need to install the OS on CD/DVD first so I think the recovery disc's maybe scratchy or the reader doesn t work properly.

Then, try another disc and see what happens. :)

  • Laptop HP dv2000 and drive HARD F2 test

Dv2000 of the child a friend (Vista) stopped loading Windows.  I got the data personal and reinstalled Vista from the recovery partition.  Dumped overboard shovelware.  Installed MSE.

A ran the drive HARD HP test (F2 at startup).  The test of HARD drive runs about 15 seconds before it stops and says ' Test #1 - failure "or something similar.  I started in Windows and asking to check for errors by right clicking on C:, go into tools > verify error.  Windows cannot find anything wrong.

Does anyone have ideas about the reliability of the HP HARD drive test?  I won't tell the kid that he needs to buy a new laptop HARD drive at least 6 year old do.

There are 98% chance that the HARD drive is failing in the near future and it is recommended to replace it as soon as POSSIBLE

  • Error in the HARD drive test

    Hello

I have run Long DST test and test HDD failed.

    Failure of ID M4M5BW-6B879U-QFPK0K-61EC03

    Product ID C5D27ES

The laptop is slow and HARD drive is slow. Can you tell me what is the problem?

Whenever the drive test hard short DST fails with 24 error Code numbers indicating that the hard drive has failed and that needs to be replaced to solve the problem

HP will offer a replacement HDD if the laptop warranty is Active, otherwise you can buy a SATA hard drive in a nearby retail store

Please make sure that you get at least equal as long as the original one in order to use recovery disks. If you need you can buy a bigger, but not smaller hard drive capacity. For example, if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can improve it to 750 GB hard drive, but not 320 GB hard drive

Please try the troubleshooting below indicated once the steps:

Step 01. Remove the battery and unplug the power adapter AC.

Step 02. Press and hold the power button for more than 30 seconds

Step 03. Plug the AC power adapter / (leave the battery for now)

Step 04. Press the power button and check if the unit is operating normally

If the steps listed above is not enough, then you can try reinstalling the hard disk on your laptop

If the problem persists again please Contact HP if your HP laptop is under warranty, HP could replace the hard drive and provide recovery media to restore the operating system to factory after the replacement (if you have not yet created recovery disks/USB support)

Note: Back up all personal data on an external drive if possible. Otherwise, you can connect the HDD defective via SATA USB adapter with another PC or a PC even after replacing the HARD drive & put in place of the operating system and try to copy / retrieve files.

  • replace the 1rent hard drive test item

I have a laptop Compaq CQ50-139WM.  Unfortunately, I don't have back up discs.  It wouldn't start so I drive some tests to F11.  "Replace the disk hard 1rent test item" is what happens when you test the disc hard self-test.  And thought?

If the hard drive needs to be replace I can retrieve the content.  The problem is only these last photos added to the top of the Tower from the last photos back.

    Hello

First of all, regarding the disk error message hard, it sounds like the drive has failed and you need to replace.

About your existing data, there are a few options, I would say.

    1. one possible way to try to recover your files from a disk non-boot is to follow the process described in the link below.  The CD of the Ubuntu operating system you create can launched from the CD alone (IE it doesn't have to be installed on the hard drive) and I've often found to successfully extract data even a hard failure.  When you created the CD, follow the instructions and see if you can save your existing files.

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/use-Ubuntu-Live-CD-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-Windo...

2 another option would be to remove the drive HARD, place it in an external enclosure - is an example of the link below - connect to another PC and see if you can access your files.

External 2.5 HARD drive caddy ".
