Hard drive options T60p

Recently, I acquired a T60p with the 100 GB Seagate FRU. The question is after reading through the form detailed., on the site of Lenovo, will I get the 2010 error if the drive is replaced by other specified FRU readers, as I had with the T43?

Gwlaad

2367AU5, 26686EV, T60p 2007J8U T43 T30

No, you won't get the 2010 error, that error is reserved the T43, R52, X 41 and X 41 Tablet systems.

I just create the recovery media under the thinkvantage set, 2 disc set for XP or 3 disks for Vista.

Then came out the old hdd of 80 GB and plugged the new drive bought from a computer store and reinstalled the recovery partition and BONES (completed in a single step, just follow on the line of the screen), and 40 minutes later, everything is done.

No firmware flashing is necessary, straight plug-and-play.

  • HDX16-1040us | Upgrade hard drive options

I just bought my HP HDX16-1040us and now I'm wondering what kind of upgrade options are available on hardrives. Here are the questions: - is it possible to use 2 hard drives in my notebook (second slot available?) - I could replace the standard hard drive with a faster? (I'm confused about the specification tecniques. The specifications of the laptop says the following "320 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 RPM". If I take a glance for hard drives faster they talk about SATA II or Serial ATA-300. Can I use a hard disk SATA II or Serial ATA-300?)

SATA-3 is a new thing. I don't know there is still portable SATA-3. In any case, Yes. All (laptop form factor) 2.5 "SATA-I or SATA-II disk will work. They are all physically interchangeable.

  • Laptop ASUS N550: hard drive Options?

The time has come to replace my 4 year old laptop. I took care to replace it with the recently released ASUS N550. My particular model will be N550JV-DBV1:

HASWELL of Intel Core i7-4700HQ CPU

15.6 "matte screen IPS for full HD (1920 x 1080)

NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M 2 GB DDR3 graphics card

    8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz memory

1 t 5400 RPM SATA II hard drive

I already have a desktop platform solid for the heavy work of creation, but I will equip this new laptop for lighter-duty to mobile working.

I will be upgrading the RAM 16 GB, but my question is on the hard drive. The N550 is an option for 3 hard disks:

The main hard drive can be replaced by two discs mSATA III. (A shopping cart with two slits mSATA fits into the main hard disk space.) A third hard drive can replace the optical drive.

At a minimum, I'll get rid of the drive 5400 RPM and use an mSATA of Samsung 256 GB SSD for the OS and programs. The other location mSATA will get probably the same 256GB SSD.

But what about the option of optical Bay? I can fill the Bay with a 7200 rpm or SSD drive, but the choices are many:

    7200 rpm:

    -1 t 79 $7200 RPM (SATA III 6 GB/s)

    -750 GB (w / 4 GB of SSD memory) hybrid of Seagate 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache (SATA III 6 GB/s) $99

-750 GB (w / 8 GB of SSD memory) 7200 RPM Seagate XT NCQ hybrid 32 MB Cache (SATA III 6 GB/s) $132

    SSD:

    -250 GB Samsung 840 SSD (up to 540 MB/s - write 250 MB/s SATA III - sequential reading 6 GB/s) $189

    -256 GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD (up to 540 MB/s - write 520 MB/s SATA III - sequential reading 6 GB/s) $239

    -512 GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD (up to 540 MB/s - write 520 MB/s SATA III - sequential reading 6 GB/s) $459

7200 rpm 1 t disc looks good, just for the storage of large, economic, but I wonder if I would be interested in the next two drives their cache and the SSD? How these factors are important in a tertiary player, especially in what concerns the first?

And is there a significant performance gain to climb up to the 512 GB Samsung SSD?

    John,

You still don't mention the type and duration of your project.

    Other thoughts...

    • You can ignore the 'noise' as one of your criteria for hard drives 2.5 "; they are hardly a sound, including the hybrid model of Seagate 7200 RPM. Your portable computer fan is sure to be what you mean when you use a laptop for video editing, not the reader.
    • If you do not require your optical drive, most of the time, he's seen as an external device is a great way to do.
    • Relatively speaking, what you would spend for the hybrid XT 750Go (approx. 135 dollars), would be something desirable though a 500 GB mSATA on board is sufficient for your main job. The HD would be so convenient for the boot disk image backups, backups of embedded data, etc..

I'm not determined to believe that you never want or need a lot of money for a 500 GB for your platform to speed mSATA, I'm simply suggesting a solution that makes as a springboard can complete turn out to be a solution for your needs and will be a great asset to your laptop in more 2 SSD isn't fast enough.

  • Hard drive options?

    T61 - Win7

I have a ~ 90 GB, 7200 RPM drive. If I had to significantly increase the disk size is the only realistic option, replacing the current drive with a new one? I think remember me the possibility of a second drive at the time of the purchase, but you had to swap with the DVD player and the larger internal drive option at the time was 5400 RPM.

Also, try to determine the type of drive since always a pain. All I can say is that it's a ST910021AS?

    1. Yes, but you can use both with Advanced Docking Station.

    2. you need computer laptop 2.5 "SATA HDD.

    I hope this helps.

  • T320 Server Enterprise HARD drive options?

I recently bought a T320 which I will incorporate a home server, to perform a variety of roles (Media Server, file / print etc.)

It is pretty basic and has the controller RAID H310 and 8 3.5 "hot-swap bays.

I would like to put together a reasonably robust RAID 5 array in the thing, using readers (4 TB) SATA decent sizes that will not have the RAID controller that is suitable.

My thought was something like 4000 HGST Ultrastar 7 K readers (model HVS724040ALA640 or HVS724040ALE640 - what is the difference between these?) or something similar.

Not interested in paying exorbitant prices Dell wants to their compatible readers, so I was wondering if people have suggestions for business readers that are certified to work in the box? HGST readers mentioned above are expected to be certified to work with the T320s, but a real experience/advice would be useful...

Note: This is not a critical production company and will be saved regularly (in a case of HP Microserver), so guaranteed Dell etc. is not critical for us.

Would appreciate some tips consumers more aware of these things...

Do not buy Dell Dell drives. Buy them from dealers (xbyte, serversupply, etc.)-even by car, half the price (or better).

WD has certified the RE4 on most of the controllers from Dell. If readers who are not certified by Dell or the manufacturer, then just stay away energy-saving, desktop/laptop or NAS drives (I.e. WD red, green, etc.).

In addition, using non-certified Dell discs don't no nullity of the Security server. Dell will not usually be solve storage issues if you have any non-certified records, but other problems are still fully covered.

When I bought the laptop, it came with a 120 GB HARD drive. I am running Windows Vista Business which fills almost half of the hard drive. I want to upgrade the HARD drive because I think the upgrade to Windows 7.

Is it possible to upgrade the HARD disk? If so, what are the compatible HARD drive options? If I do not change the HARD drive, this will affect the status of the guarantee of the laptop? for example, I currently have a 3 year warranty and the warranty upgrade HARD drive Toshiba?

    Hello!

Of course you can upgrade the HARD drive on your laptop and this doesn t affect the warranty. HDD upgrade isn't complicated and so it can be done by the user.

To swap the HARD drive, you need only remove the screws to the HARD drive Bay and remove the HARD disk cover. Then you can see the HARD drive and swap it.
I don t know you, look in your user manual. You will find interesting information and photos on this topic.

Theoretically, you can buy each HARD drive you want. On interface SATA there is no capacity limit.
I have good experiences with Hitachi and Seagate hard drives.

  • Format HARD drive, delete the recovery partition and recover with disc

    Hello

I have a laptop Satellite C660D-17F and want to format my HDD, remove the recovery partition and recover the preinstalled Windows 7 and other software. I don't want to keep my own data, which are all stored already, I just want to be sure I can safely restore preinstalled stuff. I have a few questions that I need help to clear up before I go ahead.

Am I right in thinking the dvd recovery disc I made when I got to my laptop has all the software and drivers that I need on this subject, the same that would have the recovery partition? If I do another room to spare in now just to be sure only will they have the out-of-box default stuff: OS, software and drivers on any of my data?

I found [this post | http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/items/faq/71] which explains the recovery process. If I select "Erase the hard drive" (so I can wipe my hard drive and delete the recovery partition too) what happens after that? It will restore the OS and the software for the backup of dvd drive? Will the process after that recreate a recovery partition (which I don't)?

    Added SIDENOTE:
I actually prefer to be able to choose what programs preinstalled settle after that I have format, but I'm guessing that probably isn't possible and will settle for install everything and remove what I'm after. Or is there a way?

Sorry, I know that was a long post, but I want to be sure of what will happen BEFORE I'll and spoil things! :) If you got this far, thanks for reading. :)

    Hello

I will try to offer help. ;)
    > Am I right in thinking the dvd recovery disc I made when I got to my laptop has all the software and drivers that I need on this subject, the same that would have the recovery partition?
Yes. Saved on recovery discs recovery image contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, specific Toshiba and utility tools and some additional software.
    > If I do another room to spare in now just to be sure only will they have the out-of-box default stuff: OS, software and drivers on any of my data?
Preinstalled Toshiba Recovery creator make recovery disc that includes the recovery image only. It has nothing to do with your personal data.
    > I found this post that explains the process of recovery. If I select "Erase the hard drive" (so I can wipe my hard drive and delete the recovery partition too) what happens after that?
After that, you should use recovery disks created for the recovery image installation.
    > Will the process after that recreate a recovery partition (which I don't)?
When you use the recovery disc for your laptop recovery image installation will have factory settings which include the recovery saved on the HARD disk image. To be honest I do not understand why you do not want to have this recovery image on the HARD drive. This allows the installation of recovery using recovery of HARD drive option. But of course you can delete it later for more free space on your HARD drive. Installation image that you can always use created for recovery discs-recovery DVDs.
    > I'd really rather be able to choose what programs preinstalled settle after that I have format, but I'm guessing that probably isn't possible and will settle for install everything and remove what I don't want after
    Fix.

  • Satellite L650-11F - how to access HARD drive recovery?

    Hello!

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L650-11F.

The other day I had a huge massive Goner virus (lol) and the computer is turned off. Whenever I tried to turn it on, it started to load Windows, and then restart. I tried to start Windows in safe mode but the same thing happened, just keep restarting. I tried to repair Windows (by pressing f8 and etc.) and without success, he kept restarting.

So I tried to put it because it came from fabric and when I press 0 or F1 happears just 2 options: choose an opperating system to start or press tab to select a tool: Windows 7 tools: Windows memory diagnostic

Can you help me please? Is there another way I can access the hidden hard drive recovery partition? Please :(

    Hi dakova,.

Ist it Toshiba's original OS is still installed? I ask this question because it of necessary for the recovery of HARD drive. If you have installed another OS, you can access t HARD drive recovery option.
In addition, recovery of HARD drive option is available if you press the F8 key before Windows starts. In the advanced boot menu, select fix my computer. The exact procedure is described here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

Alternative, you can take the Toshiba recovery disc. This will also restore the original settings. :)

  • Worried about HARD drive recovery deleted files

    Hello

Recently I deleted files recovery from HARD drive on the second drive hard partitioned on my laptop so I could melt in a hard drive.
After doing so, I realized HDDRecovery can important.

But I'm a little confused if you backed up to DVD/CD I did in any case the same utility?

So I have nothing to fear?

    Hello

HARD drive recovery is a nifty feature that would allow you to recovery of the laptop without the use of the Recovery DVD.
You could simply recover the laptop using the recovery of HARD drive option.

But now it's not possible because you have modified, deleted the partition of HARD disk and therefore, you can only use the recovery disc.

I think it will not copy the files from HARD drive on the new partition recovery, because the previous HARD drive recovery contained some hidden signs and flags that advocates for HARD drive recovery settings

  • SMART short self-test - on the second hard drive

    HP Pavilion Elite e9270t - 3 yrs old, Win7.

Became the error SMART self-test short the original drive so I installed a replacement and transferred files.

I get the same error on the second h/d. I have my doubts that the second disk is having the exact same error and wonder if the s/w test is actually the problem.

It could very well be the connectors that gives you the question instead of the HARD drive itself. I would run the HARD drive test in BIOS instead of the short test.

    Try this:

    1. Plug the AC adapter into the computer if it is not already connected.
    2. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
    3. Press the power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS Setup menu.
    4. Use the right arrow or left arrow keys to navigate the menu selection to find the Auto test primary hard drive option. Depending on your BIOS, it is under diagnoses or tools.
    5. Select self-test primary hard drive, and then press the Enter key to start the test.

Figure 1: Example of a primary hard disk self test screen

The hard drive self test performs a Quick Test , followed by a complete Test. During each test, the window displays a status bar and a scheduled for completion

That means there is nothing on my hard drive?

    Hello

It looks like the master boot record was for damage caused by the departure of the HARD drive recovery procedure.
I think you can get the laptop works only by using the procedure of recovery of HARD drive again.
You must press F8 after turning on laptop. Then choose fix my computer, then choose recovery Toshiba.

    I hope it will work
By the way; Why you didn t create a recovery disk? It is strongly recommended in case something goes wrong with your HARD drive.
