Hard Reset Factory - Vista problems

Hi all

Since I reset my laptop back to factory settings (& I can't cancel this reset), Firefox and Vista were not making the long (I'm not having all the problems in one of my other browsers).  I noticed that when I'm trying to upload a photo or something on the internet, when the window opens to select where to save the file, save as Type box is still empty.  This was not the case before I reset my system.

Can someone please help?

I have:
Windows Vista Edition Home Premium
Service Pack 1

Thank you.

Hello, if you have all the files *. * option shows already it won't affect you the file you are saving. If you press the drop-down menu, you can select another extension... but you don't actually have.

For example, when we upload an image on the web, by default the name of the file will already have the extension added to it for example FileName.jpg, FileName.tiff, FileName.svg, FileName.png, NomFichier.bmp

When the option Save as file type (all files *. *) is enabled, you say Firefox is not to change the default extension of the file that you download, and automatically detect and save the file in its original form. It would continue to operate in this way.

When you select Save as file (.jpg) you say only explicitly Type Firefox to save it as a JPEG file. But it still works even if you had (all files *. *) chosen because the file name already has. JPG. It makes no difference unless you want to change the extension.

The option all files examines the extension at the end of the file name and automatically detects the type of file and stores it in its original form.

If you want to change the type of file it records slot, simply rename the extension while you save the file.

File name: TheFileName. Jpg and remove the extension.

Save As Type: all files (*. *)

change to whatever you want...

File name: TheFileName.png

Save As Type: all files (*. *)

The all files option automatically recognize the new extension and save it as you wish.

You have quite a few plugins installed, obsolete plugins are known to destabilize the browsers. Remove or disable those you don't use any of those outdated or not.

Troubleshooting hardware and software with a Hard Reset

Recently, I have been see a large number of issues that can be resolved, or at least try to be solved with a hard reset. A hard reset is one of the major steps in troubleshooting for a wide variety of issues. Issues such as a none responsive, computer keyboard do not start properly, software frozen, etc.

    Why a hard reset works:

By performing a hard reset, you must remove all power from the computer. This will not occur when you restart or shut down the computer. Even by removing the battery briefly, there may be still some electricity stored in capacitors. When you do the hard reset it deletes the last drop of power from the computer. This clears all the RAM and basically force the computer to re-establish a connection between the BIOs and hardware. It will solve some problems wobbly a majority of the time, and therefore, why it is a great troubleshooting step base.

If this does not resolve the problem, you are seen be sure to create a new thread and lists all the troubleshooting steps you have tried and also to give a detailed explanation on the issue that you are experiencing.

If you encounter this flicker, then the next troubleshooting step is to restore from a backup. If the behavior persists after the restore, then the last step is the factory restore. If after the factory restore and adding no additional content, you see always this problem, then you must make an appointment at the Genius Bar to the nearest Apple store or service provider authorized Apple to have the material examined. If the behavior goes after the factory restore, then sync again your content manually, without using the backup. It seems to me it's corrupted content in the backup.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: While running scan on the hard drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when scanning try to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

  • Activation problem with hard disk containing Vista deleted from a computer dead and installed in a work computer.

Problem: HP laptop with Vista installed suffers an untimely death. The installed hard drive with Vista is still OK. Hard disk has been removed from the HP laptop and then installed in an old Dell laptop. Windows Vista is complaining that Vista is not valid and must be activated. I get the activation from valid product key and the activation utility responds with an error 0xC004E003 code and will not activate. Microsoft does not support chat or e-mail for Vista and I can not even a phone number to talk to a human being. I think I should be able to remove Vista from a computer and run it on another without Microsoft having a problem with it. What should I do for this? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Property to true. An OEM Vista license does "die with the computer. Conditions of licence for the version of Windows 8 have changed compared to the terms for the most comparable Windows 7 or Vista or XP. In my opinion, the terms are now even more restrictive, more or less.

Good luck exploring alternatives to the BONE. Some Linux distributions are well worth a visit. Ubuntu, Suse and Mint are quite simple to install on a wide range of material. I'm not familiar with the Apple/Mac or Android offers, but many speak well of them.

  • IPhone SE lights not after an appearance at the screen frozen, faded and an attempt to hard reset.

I just took the new smartphone Iphone SE in April 2016. It worked perfectly fine for the months that I had it until last night. I was recording playing me the guitar, when I put the phone down with the camera open for a few seconds. When I went to get the phone upwards, the screen was frozen and colors have been melted. The multicolored lines appeared as well. I tried to close the application by pressing the home button, and when I tried to press the sleep button to access the lock screen, the phone went black. When I went to press the sleep button to access the lock screen, the phone opens the same screen frozen, multicolored as before. I panicked and hard reset the phone. I turn on is no longer the phone. No apple logo appears, as well as logos 'connect to Itunes '. I tried to restore the phone to factory via Itunes, but it was without result.

Surprisingly, when I went to restore the phone, the second time, serial number has changed from a game of numbers and letters invalid "s/o," as if Itunes is no longer permitted to detect it as an iPhone. In addition, the phone is now considered as a completely new system on Itunes, which I don't know is normal.

Your phone is not hacked and all the malware only you could catch is malicious cookies in Safari or other browsers that are removed easily by clearing their cache. I suspect you have a hardware problem, nothing more, that should solve the Apple store.

    Turn off the phone.

    Wait 5 to 10 seconds.

Press and hold the POWER and VOLUME DOWN keys until a screen will appear with a "!" inside a triangle and a little Android standing next to him.

Press both VOLUME keys at the same time to display the menu.

Use the VOLUME keys, navigate through the menu to select Factory Reset / wipe and make your choice with the POWER button.

Once the reset is complete, go to the system to reboot and make your selection with the POWER button.

Your phone should now be reset to the factory settings.

  • I don't see the entire hard drive under Vista. When I try to shrink a volume, I seem to lose space.

Original title: I see all the hard drive under Vista

I see on the C drive properties
    "space used = 143 GB ', and"
"494GB of free space.   But, when I try to do a third partition to install windows 7, using the disk management tool, after I click on
shrink the volume on drive c, I don't see that: ' available shrink space: 79, 917 MB ' and I also see 'total size after shrink in MB = 573891'.  I expect all the free space 494 GB available shrink.  I'm wrong.    Why all the 494GBs are not available to reduce or at least half of it, I guess that instead of only available to shrink 79Gs!
In addition, currently, I have three partitions.  For vista, office and other programs and data, C D like Factory Image of HP, a 11.3 GB and yesterday I made a partition for windows 7 with 48.83GBs and installed windows 7 Professional there.  Then I realize, I need more space to install office and other programs and data.  This is when I tried to shrink the c drive and encountered this problem.
    Can you please help me
    Thank you

    Hello

you do not shrink the C: drive and then expand the E: drive back in the space that you did

You cannot extend a drive backward

and I gave you a link to read and use on the problems of shrinkage

If as a result of the information on how vista disk management work does not fit what you want to do, you may need to buy 3rd party partition software

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

While Microsoft says there is no risk in the upgrade of Win10, because they allow you to believe that you can always return to your BONES and the original installation program within 30 days, the ugly fact of the matter is that the Win10 GoBack feature turned out to be unreliable - and when she fails, she can let machines in a State corrupted - that does not always happen , but it happens often enough to be a problem and you will get no warning beforehand that he goes to the trash your PC!

If this is not enough, the Win10 upgrade is known, in some cases, corrupt partition recovery stored by the OEM that built the original machine. It's pretty much guarantee that no HP recovery will work: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Recovery-Manager-Blocked-After-Windows-10-Upgrade/td-p/5170752

This means that RESET no longer works on your laptop through your do the upgrade of Win10.

To really restore your PC to its original state, you need something known as HP recovery media.

HP recovery media is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs. You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update". If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entry and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

If you have difficulties to find a phone number, then try: 1 (800) 474-6836
    ---------------------------------------
However, HP customer care is generally not available on weekends, so you will have to wait until Monday to contact them.
