Windows XP 32 bit ceased to recognize plug and play devices.

Recently, I had a virus and had to reinstall windows. After installation, I've updated all the drivers and Windows updates. My mouse, keyboard, monitor, and wireless adapter to work correctly. After about 3 weeks, I went to install my printer. I installed the hardware, but it could not connect to the printer. I followed the instructions of the manufacturer again and again but it never connects. His grateful sound because when I turn on the printer or offshore, I hear 'bing', but it doesn't connect. I used the "New hardware found" Wizard with the disc in the drive and it looks right and research, he never does the program on the disk. I tried to use the camera to Windows and the scanner Wizard with no luck.
After that I gave up, I tried to use my camera, that has worked well until I reinstalled it and it happens "New hardware found" and the "new hardware detected" appears, but it does not recognize the CD, just look and watch for hours. I got fed up and finally bought a "plug and play" card reader SD and the bubble appears in the toolbar "new hardware found", but then the "new hardware found" stands and asks a disc! Its a PLUG and PLAY! There is no disc! The material is on the device! It's not my USB ports because he DOES not see something trendy and I checked Device Manager and he said his work without no problems found, but it does not connect to it. Does anyone have any info on what this might be? ANY help with this is greatly appreciated! Thank you

Hi pressure,

Peripheral Plug n Play need driver for the operation.

PnP means that you do not have to restart the computer to install something.

I suggest to update the drivers for the chipset of your motherboard and see if a firmware update is available for your BIOS.

I have a Satellite A100 with Windows Vista Home Premium. This is the second time I try to install a plug-and-play device, but the computer asks me the driver without finding her.
The first time I tried to install an external hard drive (Packard Bell store and save) and the second time I tried with a modem that works with Mobile SIM cards.

    Hello

Do you really think that Vista has obtained all the necessary drivers? I mean, you will need to install the driver files when Vista could not find anything. That's just logic and no mistake. It s more a mistake of thinking. :)

So, go on the Web site of the manufacturer of your hardware "plug-n-play", download the drivers for Vista, install them and be happy with "plug-n-play" when you attach your devices.

    Welcome them

Recently, I noticed that my CD/DVD stopped working. He turns, but nothing happens; the disc is not read.
I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit on an HP Touchsmart tx2z.

I ran the Microsoft FixIt program through http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116 and it has identified the following problem: 'HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20L periph. CdRom SATA has a driver problem. The driver faces a problem of Plug-and-Play device. »

However, FixIt said that he was unable to solve the problem and discs are still read.

I manually uninstalled the driver in Device Manager and then scanned for the hardware changes. The driver was reinstalled, but with the same problems as before.

    Any ideas?

Also, try following the steps for Windows Vista, which should also work in Windows 7, in the MS KB article:

These measures, to remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters, values if they exist, in the registry key named can help.

  • What is the reliability of Plug and Play in Windows 7?

What is the reliability of Plug and Play in Windows 7? I mean he came in windows in Windows 98. Sometimes, when you plug a USB device, you may need a set of 60 seconds to restart your computer. Our company become lazy 60 seconds is too long to wait to use a USB device? It might be a good improvement in the next generation of Windows operating systems, but is it reliable, Plug and Play in Windows 7? Any ideas?

There is a finite amount of drivers that can be incorporated into Windows such as Windows recognizes the device. In addition, device manufacturers must submit the drivers to Microsoft to incorporate into Windows at construction time. Out of the box Plug and Play does not work for all possible configurations of hardware.

Windows 7 Service pack 1 is released in 2010, the last chance for drivers to be incorporated into the build. Devices with their own hardware ID, which were released after the construction cannot be identified automatically and must, by definition, provide the required drivers for the start install but after that, they should recognize the device automatically. Although the USB 3 specification has been ratified by little around the time of the release of Windows 7 more material supporting this specification came out that shortly after. Windows 7 does not natively support USB 3.

Windows 7 of Plug-and-Play support works very well, but depends on the hardware manufacturer provides drivers reliable and other support files when it comes to new hardware. Your problem is not with Windows, but your reception units. Windows 7 is now disabled standard support.

  • Problems with Plug n Play device drivers

I try to manually install drivers of Plug-and-Play devices for my Aglient 81104 A pulse generator, and I'm having a little difficulty. I found the instructions to know how to manually extract the files, but the instructions say to paste the folder (which contains two files .llb and about 10 files without extensions) to "National Instruments\LabVIEW\instr.lb", but the thing is, I do not have a folder under \LabVIEW\ \instru.llb. All I have is 'MAX' 'NOR-DAQ' and 'shared '. I tried the search function for a folder called instr.lib, but I couldn't find one on the computer. I made a new folder instru.lib and run one of the files .llb, which opened in LabVIEW, manually, but they gave me ten mistakes most read like this

    "-VI should happen to ': \hp81110a\hp81110a.llb\HP81110A Reset.vi' has been charged with"C:\Users\Lab\AppData\Local\Temp\Temp1_hp81110a.zip\hp81110a.llb\HP81110A Reset.vi"

I tried to manually navigate to the folder \AppData as to move to the folder where they were expected, but I did not see this .vi when I opeend my user \Lab\ folder.

    What happens here?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Does not, XP 8176 controller plug-and-play

I have a system controller 8176 under XP. OR PXI-devices are not detected plug-and - play. Last XP and OR corrections updated. The system has 512 MB of ram and > 10 GB of free space on the disk. No "yellow marks" ion device with the exception of the PXI advice Manager.

I have several different devices PXI, 6608 timer, 4461, etc. 5406. None are detected PNP.

This works: => Control Panel Add material etc.

Device Manager-online-online 'New Hardware Detection' data acquisition devices does not work

Whenever I put to update MAX, all PXI devices date back to be undetected, with a yellow exclamation point in Device Manager and MAX the device has an 'X' mark and a symbol of the plan.

Repeat Controll notes-online hardware etc add the hardware and then things work very well from there once again.

I tried to remove all cards except the 6608 timer, but it is still not detected.

Any ideas? Is it possible that I miss some of the software components?

  • Windows 7 does not recognize my Dell 2407WFP monitor - only as monitor not Plug-and-Play credits.

This monitor is able to execute the resolution 1920 x 1200 and it worked well on the same laptop Dell Latitude D820 under XP Pro SP3. However, Windows 7 does not recognize the Dell Monitor (shows as non-Plug-and-Play monitor credits) and will go no higher than 1600 x 1200. The monitor on the laptop will run in 1920 x 1200 and also 1920 x 1200 poster XP running inside a virtual machine, so the problem is with Windows 7 not properly recognizing the Dell 2407WFP monitor in VGA mode. All other operating systems work very well to support the material properly.

The laptop is running a NVidia Quadro NVS 120 M map. I tried several versions of Vista Dell drivers (do not have for Windows 7 - therefore Dell is not to follow). NVidia has no drivers for this card because it specially designed for Dell and all pilots must come from Dell (new Dell doesn't help here - I know that Windows 7 was just recently released but there are important suppliers for some time. Thought Dell was big by taking charge Microsoft with their business line of products but I think that even they cannot follow.

It seems that the problem is also Windows 7 is not correctly identify the Dell monitor and many other monitors as well. Unfortunately, I doubt that this issue will never be resolved by Microsoft. I have yet to see that all the issues MS resolved long. I begin to see the truth in the last pub in Apple vs MS on television. Well the time to upgrade the new hardware.

If anyone has a suggestion or a solution to solve this - I'm all ears!

    Don

wait until that Dell publishes drivers for win 7 or you can contact them for the same thing.

  • HARD drive external, Toshiba PX1395E, not plug and play in Windows XP

    Hi all

    Thanks for reading this.

Just bought a number of HDD 2.0 USB 750 GB external PX1395E.
I want to use to back up files from my old computer to my new computer.
In fact, my old pc recognizes the HARD drive (plug-and-play) and I already copied the required data.

BUT: my new computer, with Windows XP Professional, Service pack 3. Does NOT recognize the HARD drive.
I used several (versions 1.1 and 2.0) USB ports and everything is connected to the way that it should.
Windows tells me that I have plugged 'something', but is unable to recognize what it is and I can't use the material.

I think I need a driver to make this work. Site Web de Toshiba does not provide this particular driver (I checked, but it cannot find).

Is there anyone with a solution?

    Thanks in advance.

Do you see the HARD drive in the disk management?

Another way is that reinstall you the chipset driver. Look at the Toshiba site to download and choose the right one.

  • Windows 7 printer and HP1120c using gigaware usb, a parallel printer cable is not recognized by plug-and-play

I can't get my printer recognized by plug-and-play.  I have installed a printer manually, but still can not get to work.  All boards

    Hello Kirk,

I'm not sure what you mean by "manually installed", but you need a print driver for the printer recognized by Windows. Go to this page to download the driver you need for whatever version of Windows you have: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=14497&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=25522&prodTypeId=18972&lang=en&cc=us .

Once you have downloaded the right print driver, I let the computer do the installation.  NOTE: you may need to completely uninstall what you've done "manually" so that the correct driver is working correctly. See the HP Web site for more information (I'd do it, but I do not know what operating system you have and its depth of Bit (32 or 64)).

Post here if you need further instructions or assistance (be sure to include your OS and Bit depth). Let me know how you fare.

    Kind regards
