Hard restart of the blackBerry Smartphones on the keyboard?

Before my last OS update I could cold/hard reboot my 8330 to the keyboard via Alt-Right Shift-DELETE. This has saved battery tire several times. But since V4.5.0.175, the reboot is much faster and I hink it's more like a warm reboot that cold. Is it possible to force a cold/hard reboot of the keyboard with my OS level?

TNX.

The ONLY way for a real hard reboot, in any OS, is with a battery pull.

Some say that hitting Alt-Right Shift-Del a second time, immediately after the first reboot then to see the first glimpse of the white screen looks more like a battery pull.

Your mileage may vary.

  • Can I hard restart during the disk check?

I had a few friends and customers who had annoyed long check discs, which some have not read the menu and cancel the check before he started. I was wondering if do a hard reboot (holding the power button down) would cause any irreparable harm for disks being checked.

If chkdsk is run with options to fix file system errors or to investigate and fix bad sectors, and the program has found such and is be in the method of determining when the hard reset is complete, the files will be damaged. However, there is no physical damage to the disk. How that the effects of the system depends on what file (s) is/is damaged.

If chkdsk is run without parameters, the difficulty value system errors or scan file and difficulty of the sectors, audit only the disc bed and do not write on the disc. No error not desirable by putting an end to arbitrary test.

If the system goes in chkdsk on startup, which means that during the last use of the machine, before the last stop, one or more file i/o errors were detected and therefore the "dirty"indicator disc has been defined and chkdsk scheduled for the next boot. He should be able to complete, errors fixed. If it recurs, the cause must be sought.

As part of this, download the software for reader to check on the website of the manufacturer of the disk. Download the version that is burned to a CD or DVD. Do this. Boot from the CD/DVD and run the tests.

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones! No keyboard or the battery

I just got my new storm, and the battery supported for several hours at first until I started using it. I let the battery die down to 25% before turning on the charger. The device operated by the application of the clock and the power of lightening bolt came the battery symbol as if he were in charge. I left it overnight and this morning there are more than 25% power indicated on the symbol. Any ideas?

    Problem #2

In addition, the battery indicating not that she is in charge my keyboard has disappeared. I used it yesterday evening to send messages, and it worked until I put it on the charger. This morning I tried to respond to text messages, and the keyboard does not appear. I opened the other applications that use the keyboard and each load without the keyboard.

Help! I'm all new to Blackberry (only 3 days veteran...) and have no idea how these problems!

Thanks, I did the reset (remove the battery and let it sit for 30 seconds) and he brought the keyboard and the phone is now charging on my computer charger.

I hope that this will be the last of my blackberry problems and I can finally enjoy this thing!

Thank you guys for your help!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Help: Text/keyboard problem

I just got the storm yesterday and when I text now now more passes the keyboard when I turn the phone on its side.

    Maybe I hit something?

    Help, please

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello and welcome!

This has happened to others (and there are these threads which discuss). So far, the best fix was the hard reset battery-pop. With the unit powered on, open the case back and remove the battery. Wait for about a minute then reinsert the battery and replace the back cover. Running and wait patiently through the long long long restart the process (as long as 10 minutes). Try again and see if things have cleared up. Like any other computer device, sometimes things are watered and only a reboot it will clear up.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones retro lighting keyboard turn on and off by itself

I got a new Verizon BBTour today, I had no problem to transfer my BlackBerry Storm 9530. I typed my first email tonight and found that the backlight of the keyboard is disabled while I was typing, I was about to get up to turn on the light of the House, then light keyboard turn around himself, then a few seconds later to stop again. He was turning on and off itself.

Anyone have this problem? or does anyone know if there is a problem or that I need to set up somewhere? I checked the configuration on the screen/keyboard, this is exactly the same as the storm I. Help, please

    Joseph

The backlight on the keyboard is automatic and the sensitivity does not always fire when you would like to.  But, if you are in low light and keyboard backlight does not instantly, place your hand on the keyboard and he rip off and the light.  If the sensor captures a bit of light, albeit indirect, it turns off the backlight.

There is not currently of an option to change this behavior and it is battery.  It is not an irregular operation of the device.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Password Lock/keyboard Lock on Blackberry 8520

So I have updated my curve to the new version 5. I noticed that there wasn't any more keyboard Lock/Password Lock. My previous software, it was named keyboard lock and I put it as one of my convenience keys. After the update, I noticed that he had ceased to exist. A friend of mine bought a new Curve 8520 with the update already installed of course. She had the locking of the keyboard, but he was named Password Lock instead. I have been looking for ways to get this feature to my Blackberry because I think it's more practical, rather than the button ' silent mode / mute "located on the top of my unit. The shortcut to lock my phone which is the 'A' on my keyboard quickly "locks" my keyboard only. I would like the feature set to be blocked if.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

The keypad lock is the A"" key. To unlock press on and hold the Mute button on top of your Bay for at least half a second. If you set a password under Options/Security, a new padlock icon appears. This can be set to a touch of comfort.

Hello and welcome to the community!

From what you describe, I would recommend a clean OS reload.

At the top of each forum device, there should be some 'sticky' threads dealing with the level of the OS available for each model. Please use those as a reference as you go along.

From a PC, you can install any compatible OS package (for example, for your BB model exact number) of a BB via this procedure:

Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

    • KB19915 How to perform a clean reload of the smartphone BlackBerry using BlackBerry Desktop Software application software

You can also get the BBSAK (BBSAK.ORG) utility and use it to completely erase your BB (the result will be a 507) and then properly reload your operating system.

On your torch, with the help of hard slide on the keyboard, press and HOLD the desired accented letter or a special character and do scroll the trackpad horizontally (on the side) and you will see the special characters.

On the touch keyboard, simply touch and hold the contact for a few seconds and the replacement characters will be displayed, to choose.

When I put my blackberry on the mass storage mode. A pop up on my blackberry according to ECEPTION EXCEPTION: JAVA. LANG. NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION... What does that mean? and how can I fix that so I can put music on my phone.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Whenever this kind of mistake happens, the best thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, this one suffers memory leaks and other... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

As for what the error means, well, it means that some events were held for which there is no stage of the program to deal with - as a result, an untrapped exception. It of kind of a 'out' final in programming code and says that something is inconsistent with the device with this hard restart being the best advice to fix (at least temporarily).

    Hope that helps!

My BB Curve 9320 is constant restarting.

-connected to the laptop via USB, but the computer will not come to get the camera to access

I actually got on the screen and in the second 3 window was able to click on the set of networks to see that Bluetooth is more "verified"-any, yet what have the 3 seconds before the reboot cycle.

How do I on my device in safe mode?

I already posted this article Knowledge Base, always check the KB17877

If possible to start your device in Mode safe to remove this application, it will solve your problem.

Or if you are unable to start Safe Mode and then follow this Knowledge Base to reload the operating system:

KB10144 : How to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader

But please note that this method will erase your data from the device. If you have a previous backup or using BlackBerry Protect you can restore your backups.

  • PROCESS of RESTARTING of blackBerry Smartphones IS at the point of DEATH

I tried to reboot my device by removing the battery and reinsert. The restart process gets to about 60% of the way through and then stops. On the screen, the white line, showing the progress extends just to the right of the touchpad with about 1 cm to complete.  I tried to connect to the Fund Manager, but it does not detect the phone in this State. Any ideas. Can it be linked to the level of battery power?  Clearly a software problem. Is it possible to go beyond this crash?
