Have lost access to remove or run. Registered owner am.
Using XP Pro. Have installed new backup programs and removed those that I didn't like. Also disabled the other day of fast user switching.
No longer can install something again or remove old programs. "Access is denied. File in use or protected disk write error".
I don't know what has changed. Should what settings I see to retrieve access rights?
I can log on 'owner' or a user, and it makes no difference.
Any help would be appreciated of course. I wish all re - install everything from scratch.

I some how lost access to the C: drive, everytime I try to get to it I get a message "C:\ is not Accessible access denied" and when I try to manage on the computer I get the access denied message. any help would be great.

You can probably fix this by using the system restore. Here we go:
1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
2. select Repair from the menu.
3. Enter the administrator password when you are prompted. It is often empty.
4. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
5. set Windows to a point before this problem occurred. -

2. the data are not available for your Microsoft TV Listings service provider location.
3 Media Center has identified existing data on your computer to be outdated or damaged

I have a weird with my Vista Ultimate problem when I try to read some files and folders on my NTFS partition: I have full access rights and I am an owner of these objects (controlled by the editor of access rights), but when I try to play the files in these folders (play videos, listen to music or simply copy these files)-windows get an 'access denied' error box. All the content of these files normally appear in the Solution Explorer and I even to able to delete and move these files - but this isn't for playback/copy. This problem even when I have logged in as the built-in "Administrator" account. I don't know why. I had even checked all this disc via 'chkdsk /f' (reboot) - no errors found and still no effect.
Please, help me - maybe u already had similar problem!

Error 1402 could not open key HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft Windows\Current Version\Run\Optional Components\IMAIL. Check that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support team.
