HDD 2.5 "Caddy Optiplex SFF 9020

We ordered a couple optiplex 9020SFF systems with 3.5 "hd we want to replace the hard drives 2.5" HD of (ssd + small harddrive normal) can someone tell me the partnumber dell for the correct caddy? (2 * 2.5 ")

Stephan-thevalley
You have a dell refers to the "Optiplex 3020 7020 9020 2.5 inch caddy?

The Optiplex 3020 7020 9020 R494D 2.5 inch caddy fits inside the DN8MY 3.5 inch blue caddy for the tower.

Office and MFS have different parts for the internal 3.5 caddy numbers, but that's okay because the R494D converts the 3.5 on a medium that holds 2.5-inch disks and then snaps into the 3.5 caddy.

The adapter Silverstone has all a standard 3.5 HDD mounting points ", and it's only $8 with free shipping. She holds two 2.5 "stacked devices.

  • Double U2713HM and OptiPlex SFF 9020

We just got a Dell OptiPlex SFF 9020 and a pair of monitors Dell U2713HM. I connected a single monitor for now. The maximum available resolution is 1920 x 1080, rather than the native 2560 x 1440. The monitor is connected to the card (Radeon 8570, I think) who presents what I believe to be a DVI - D port and a DisplayPort. The connection is port DVI - D port DVI - D monitor via DVI - D cable, that I got with the machine. It is clearly labeled as a dual-link cable. How can I fix it?

  • OptiPlex SFF 3020, no Communication Port Serial

I have 10 systems Optiplex SFF 3020 and I can't get the serial to work. My rep does not know the model number of the serial port. I tried the following references, and they do not work:
    CN-Y9001
    CN-0Y73TJ

If anyone knows what exactly reference number please answer. There is also a patch of the bios for this model that solves a problem with the com port that I applied to a system and only allows not always. Also, the internal com port is in conflict with PCI - e serial port cards even if it is disabled in the bios. Pci-series cards work for awhile but then start to malfunction. I tried 3 brands of different manufacturers. Virtually impossible to use one of these systems for what they were bought, which is printing to a printer series.

I found myself then contact support technology guide on this issue. They had an internal bulletin to replace the will of card serial port Dell Part # 67 X 99 and that solved my problem.

    Howdy,

I have a couple of slightly older Optiplexes (740, 755) and several cards from Dell which came with these machines, but they are not much faster than the embedded video and I wish I had a somewhat newer video, something like a HD6450 or something similar.

Are there new video cards working in these machines?

  • Update the Bios OptiPlex SFF 790

I just bought the MFS 790 and the Bios A05 level; According to the website of Dell support for this pc, I should be in bios A18. But, read the instructions on several levels of the bios, I need flash to the A10 bios level until I can't keep A18. Is this correct or am I just read the instructions all wrong? This machine is the Intel I3 under @ 3.1 ghz and 4 GB of memory.

    Thank you... Larry

    Hi Larry,

Yes you need to update the version of the A10 BIOS on your system first and then upgrade to the A18 version on the system. Please find the links below.

  • Disk SATA of OptiPlex 9020 m and m2

All data sheets I can find for the Optiplex USFF 9020 indicate that it can withstand a SATA m2. Which non of them tell me what edge connector and the length should be, and whether or not an impasse is required for the end.  I contacted the technical support, who sent me to the line of factory parts, but seemed to understand what I was looking for.  They kept directing me to parties for the addition of a 2.5 "SSD, not a SATA m2 card.  Also, the manual download users was a link from the U.S. site dead for weeks.  Can anyone help?

Based on the research to the motherboard, I think I can use a 42mm card with a 'B' or 'B & M' edge connector.  But, again, nothing to confirm.

    Thank you.

    -Tim Reid

    Hi Tim,.

    Thanks for your question.

    I found some references that we've sold with the 9020 M m2.

    Dell support for reference numbers:

    331T 3 128 GB SSDR 3.65 MM, S3, SMSNG, PM851

    5612H SSDR, 256GB - SATA3, 2280, L9G Liteon

    PF19K 128GB SSDR 3.65 MM, S3, Toshiba, HG6

I analyzed the part number for Dell PF19K, to form M2280 - Toshiba THNSNJ128G8NU from Toshiba HG6 part number factor, 3.65 mm. This is a real picture of it:

    Specs of Toshiba:

    http://Toshiba.SEMICON-storage.com/us/product/storage-products/client-SSD.html

    I found a pic of a similar m2 installed in a 9020M:

Also, I tried the link to the owner's manual download and it works well on my side:

    http://www.Dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/OptiPlex-9020m-desktop/manuals

    I hope this helps you.

  • Cannot use my Satellite L350 with ODD caddy

    Hello!

I have 6 years of cca laptop Toshiba Satellite L350.

Now, I decided to get SSD for the OS HARD drive instead. So I bought MX100 Crucial SSD 128 GB and place it where was the HARD drive. For the HARD disk, I bought DVD SilverStone Treasure TS09 caddy.

On SSD, I install Windows 8.1 Pro MSDNAA (without HARD drive in the laptop). After that, I put HDD in DVD caddy and start portable computer. For now, Windows is not working properly, when it comes to the desktop it freezes, only thing I can open the Task Manager.

Why now computer laptop is not working properly?
Problem in DVD caddy... is not suitable for my laptop?
    What can I do?
Do I have to change the properties of the Bios?
    ...?

Thank you and sorry for my English...

In the past, many people have reported on this. Problem is that Toshiba does not support these additional adapters and all people use some third party carts. In your case, I think that there are some compatibility issues.

If you have time to use the option of advanced search on this forum and try to find similar topics.
I use additional HARD drive, but as the external one.

It is unclear to me that some BIOS settings can be changed in this regard.

  • What type of disc hard caddy should I buy Envy 15 laptop computer 3040nr?

    Hello world

I plan to replace my optical drive with an ssd in my 3040nr feel like 15. Given that I don't have much experience would be nice if someone can share on this topic. What I need is the full specs on the caddy should I buy and measures.

    Thank you!

Some models Envy 15 came with the second span inside aleady but need to reference your model against the downloadable repair of hp on the link to support this site.

If you do not have model with the second drive Bay, then indeed a caddy for optical Bay is the easy way.

Your optical Bay is 9.5 mm Sata interface & they are so simple to buy standard inustry.

    Hello

I prefer to use the SSD as drive and move the secondary hard drive of origin to the hard drive compartment. Is the part number for the hard disk hardware kit: 681976-001

I found some on ebay or amazon, but it's quite expensive (about 50-60 pounds). Support (caddy) could be of any laptop I have used a support from a Dv6 laptop on a Mini 210 netbook and it works as the size of the hard drive for laptop computers is the same. However, the sata cable is another story (cannot be abbreviated).

I would try the cable secondary sata and caddy for Dv7-6000 (Dv7 or want 7 use the same textbooks) laptops series of ebay.

In case that you use the ssd as primary drive you might have to perform a new installation by using the product key on the bottom of the laptop. I did that myself several times and the only thing is not active online but wait until an activation message comes up and activate by phone. Use the same version of the original operating system installation disc. Borrow one from a friend, download from the internet (partly illegal but not if it is used with the legal product key) etc.

  • How to disable a GPU dedicated to Dell Optiplex 960

I use an ATI Radeon HD 4550 with Dell Optiplex SFF GX960 (BIOS A08), sometimes I want to save energy by opting for the Integrated GPU (Intel GMA)... My question if there is a way to disable/enable the GPU dedicated without removing the motherboard.

I tried to disable in the BIOS in the category of video settings I found 2 modes Auto and Onboard/add in card, when I use Auto and set the display the Intel GPU it causes a "unsupported video Configuration interrupted system!" and asks me to fix the screen to the dedicated card, while the other mode ignores the totally integrated GPU.

    Thanks in advance

No, the only way to turn off is to remove it. This isn't a laptop.

But there is no power gpu switching.

  • The yellow light OptiPlex 990 / 2,3,4

I have a two Optiplex 990 who stopped to boot the system. They light... fans spin up the DVD player turns... but then Diagnostics lights 2,3,4 and show the power button turns orange instead of green.

The system then just guard road and stop with the constantly diagnostic lights.

I tried to remove the HD, CD drive, graphics card, CMOS, both fans. None seem to solve the problem. On one of the two, I replaced the motherboard. That did not help also.

I have also reset the memory on units

    Grateful for any help!

I have the same problem with dell optiplex SFF 990... There was also a previous optiplex 790 with the same problem, but the two, I was able to fix... I opened the power supply and discovered curved 2 capacitors (2200uF 10V) and replaced both.  Now the two systems work well.  It of a cheap cap and should be replaced with the quality of those like nichicons, etc...

It might be possible to also find caps curved on the card mother esp on the area of heat sink.

If you are not technical then, go to an electronics store and have your powersupply be summarized / renovated... Note: before you fix it myself i tried the built-in self test for the power supply (press small black button located on the back) and he said the PSU is good and also I measured the voltages of each individual output (5V, 12V, 3.3V) and all gave good reads but you cannot be sure because there is still no load.  So as I suspected I opened the power supply and discovered the bulging caps / leaks...

Hope this will help you all.
