(Redirected) Dell OptiPlex SFF 7020

We just bought a Dell OptiPlex 7020 in June 2015.  He spent the diagnostic tests to include the full test, but it restarts after the message of Windows and display the colored dots (Windows 7 SP1 32 Bit) and he gets the hit text back to the screen.  Anyone know what causes this problem?  Thank you.

  • How to disable a GPU dedicated to Dell Optiplex 960

I use an ATI Radeon HD 4550 with Dell Optiplex SFF GX960 (BIOS A08), sometimes I want to save energy by opting for the Integrated GPU (Intel GMA)... My question if there is a way to disable/enable the GPU dedicated without removing the motherboard.

I tried to disable in the BIOS in the category of video settings I found 2 modes Auto and Onboard/add in card, when I use Auto and set the display the Intel GPU it causes a "unsupported video Configuration interrupted system!" and asks me to fix the screen to the dedicated card, while the other mode ignores the totally integrated GPU.

    Thanks in advance

No, the only way to turn off is to remove it. This isn't a laptop.

But there is no power gpu switching.

  • More big power supply for Dell Optiplex 7040MT - please help

    Hi all

I recently bought a dell optiplex 7040 mini lathe and it came with a 240 watt power supply. I want to update and would like to know what my options are.

    Thank you

The 7040 could use the same wacky scheme that uses precision T1700.  If this is the case MODDIY has an adapter to convert the 24pin connector 8 pin. Suitable for Dell OptiPlex 3020 / 7020 / 9020 / T1700 so I think the 7040 is the same.

  • Dell optiplex 990 SSF video / graphics upgrade

I have a dell optiplex 990 ssf with a processor i5, 4 GB ram and 240w psu, my aunt made me for the school this year.  It is perfect to write the Lord's prayer and surf, but I also like to play video games.  I'm sure that the integrated graphics card is not much for games.   As I searched the forums here, I came across a factor of this card as mother to a 25w to the potential limiting pci-e slot limit.  This motherboard has only 2 16 x slots pci-e size and nothing more.  The documentation is clearly what motherboards of the 990 series optiplex has this limitation and that integrated video system is included.  Could you please help me as to what video cards I can use in this testbed?

    Currently my 2 considerations are:

    Radeon HD 6670 1 GB GDDR5 128 bit PCI Express 2.1 x 16 HDCP Ready Low Profile

    or

    Radeon HD 7750 1 GB GDDR5 128 bit PCI Express 3.0 x 16 HDCP Ready

Both are low-power and low footprint.

I'm not on overclocking anything just to use this system for the games moderate occasionally.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, personally, I have a Dell Optiplex SFF 990, the upgrade you are looking for is the Sapphire 7750 Single Slot low-profile. It performs much better and draws less power (7750 55W 6670 TDP 68W TDP) compared to the 6670.

    Beachmark 6670 and 7750 - http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-7770-7750-benchmark, 3135.html

To add on, there is another additional advantage to free other 16 X (4-Wired) expansion card 1 X Pcie 4 Port Usb 3.0 PCIe slot.

All the less is the configuration that I use and it's perfect for my use.

    I hope that helps!

  • Double U2713HM and OptiPlex SFF 9020

We just got a Dell OptiPlex SFF 9020 and a pair of monitors Dell U2713HM. I connected a single monitor for now. The maximum available resolution is 1920 x 1080, rather than the native 2560 x 1440. The monitor is connected to the card (Radeon 8570, I think) who presents what I believe to be a DVI - D port and a DisplayPort. The connection is port DVI - D port DVI - D monitor via DVI - D cable, that I got with the machine. It is clearly labeled as a dual-link cable. How can I fix it?

  • Add the second hard drive in the Dell Optiplex 780 SFF

    Hello

I have dell Optiplex 780 SFF (Small Form Factor) PC. It has 3 options of SATA. I want to add 2nd hard drive in it, but I see no power for 2 hard drive cable.

At the present time, I have a SATA Hard Drive and a SATA Super Combo. But the power cable from the SATA Super combo is very unique, I can not able to give the power of this cable to my 2nd hard drive.

Is it possible to add 2 hard disk in the PC case?

    Best regards

    Dani

    Hi Dani,

The SFF is using a drive slim lens that does not have a standard SATA power connection. You will need to buy an adapter or a SATA power cable splitter to power a second hard drive.

  • Windows XP 64 bit will run on a Dell Optiplex 780 SFF or Optiplex 980 SFF?

I intend to buy a Dell Optiplex 780 SFF or a Dell Optiplex 980 SFF, but I would like to know which one will work with Windows XP 64-bit.

For Windows XP 64 Bit its better to use the somewhat hidden (old ftp site):

    http://FTP.Dell.com/Browse_For_Drivers/desktops/OptiPlex/OptiPlex%20780/

    http://FTP.Dell.com/Browse_For_Drivers/desktops/OptiPlex/OptiPlex%20790/

    http://FTP.Dell.com/Browse_For_Drivers/desktops/OptiPlex/OptiPlex%20980/

This has the old drivers listed in multiple versions, including XP x 64 drivers not mentioned on drivers and downloads. The new ftp site is currently slightly broken.

  • Need a video card compatible for Dell Optiplex 745 (SFF) - help, please!

I have a Dell Optiplex 745 SFF. The details of the standard can be found here: http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/optix/en/opti_745techspecs.pdf

(even once, look at the MFS)

I want to get the best possible video card for this PC that I can find, and I was hoping someone could help me with my options. I am aware of my options are limited, but I'd like to work with what I have here. Thanks much for any help.

Sapphire 7750 is the best low profile card I know. There is no need of current auxiliary and is compatible with your power supply.

SA makes a 7750 as well, but it requires more space and I don't know if it is compatible with your frame.

No, the OptiPlex 745 LTS has a Dell exclusive power and cannot replace it with a larger unit with more power, they are has no third-party power supplies available.

I have a Dell Optiplex 755 SFF, and I would change all my materials for the best components that I can use.

Is it possible to upgrade my processor Q6600 to a Q9550 / Q9650?

I know there is no Q9550/Q9650 on the compatibility list, but I saw someone put the CPU into this motherboard, and he said that he works very well with this motherboard. So, what is your suggestion? I would like to give it a try? Will it work? Or is it just a complete?

Is it possible to put a primary HARD drive and a secondary SSD in the system?

If this is the case, what is your suggestions? I thought about a 120 GB SSD system and a 1 TB Western Digital HARD drive, it's a good combination? (7200 RPM, SATA)

Who is the STRONGEST Videocard for its price, which can adapt to this mobo?

Many people say LP 7750 HD is the best of what you can get, but I checked ebay and other Web sites, even sought a 7750 HD LP "pre-owned", but I could not find. What video card do you offer me?

    ((Current))

    Q6600

    RAM 2 GB (1x2Go)

    INTEL GMA3100 (: C)

    150 GB HARD DRIVE

    PSU 275W

    Thank you!

7750 (now called profile low 250 R7) uses more than 25W you run the risk of damaging your system.

Low Profile Fanless Silent ASUS EAH6450 to 27W is the max I would use.

  • Dell OptiPlex 755 SFF rear disc HARD fan Press F1 CORRECTED an error!

EDIT: Fix for F1 error is on the #2 post. Try only if you know what you are doing and don't mind not having is not a HDD stupid fan. I now only use a SSD and it needs no power noisy fan to waste.

    ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

I removed the fan hard drive dying on the Dell Optiplex 755 SFF (fan is built in a hdd cage) and modded the side of the case to include a Yate Loon 120 mm fan. I removed the hard drive in its entirety and then used cage the where the floppy drive has been to place my SSD 256 GB of free space. The system is much more pleasant that way, and now he has place for 120mm fan (already modded).

However, at startup, there is a rear fan error and it asks you to press F1 to continue. It disappears when I connect the old dying noisy fan (has more room for it). Because I don't want the hard drive cage (or his fan also) and I can not put the fan back in, I want to use the connector and the son of the old fan dead and hang it in my nice new Yate Loon, which is the ideal solution for cooling (used as a suction fan).

    The color codes are:

    Yate Loon (D12SL-12): Red = 12v, black = mass, yellow = Tach (I think)

Dell drive HARD fan (STROKE BN06015B12H): Red = 12v, black = mass, yellow? Blue? (PWM or tachometer)

What are the blue and yellow for the Dell HARD drive fan? Can I just plug the Red of Dells Yates red and black wire on black? This should give me a 12v fan work, however I wonder if the loons Yate flying over red wire could be used for the sensor.

Any help would be great. Really sad that Dell did not include a fan setting ignore in the bios.

    Thank you!

    SkOrPn

EDIT: Ok, Yate Loon do not light up when it is connected to the fan header. What is missing? The old fan of Dell is rated 12v A 0.36 and the YL is 12v 0.30 A, less than the old fan so the fan header would seem like the logical place to get needed power as it provides much. When the old fan is plugged it provides 12v, but does not provide power when Miss the blue and yellow wires?

Edit2: Ok, understood as the Yate Loon uses the Red wire as the 12v fan (somehow, I thought it was yellow). Now, I think that the yellow must be a son of tachometer for rpm. Now I'm wondering if the Dell system can monitor the number of TOWERS to connect the yellow wire without prejudice to the system without the connected blue. In fact, I wonder if the controller monitors just RPM to warn of the fan failure. If so, maybe I can connect the yellow and get rid of this error from the BIOS at startup screen.

    Hello

I've linked yellow pine of wire of the connector of the fan HARD drive on yellow pine of the CPU fan connector and no fan of F1 more at startup error -correction

I have no need for my SSD disk drive hard noisy fan.
