heat of cpu xps8700

I have an 8700 xps which gets warn a bit when you do a large C++ compile and compile an unreal application.  About 70 C.  The CPU fan can be upgraded to produce a greater volume of air?  Or is it another way, reduce the temperature?

Mathprofessor

Have you cleaned the accumulation of dust inside the case recently, the case and radiator fans, cooling the radiator fins, as well as the air intakes located in the front panel?

  • Satellite P300 - 219 PSPCCE - what should be the optimal heat of CPU?

    Hello there;

I use for my laptop Satellite P300-219 (PSPCCE) newly bought about a week now. When you type I can't help noticing, the place where I put my left hand, I want to say the empty space to the left of the touchpad, feels much too hot. I looked for the manual and I have learned that it is where the CPU.

Then I searched for a way to measure the heat of CPU, and after having tested some programs with too many different measures, I led to believe that the 'CPUID hardware Manager"gives the best results, after you set the correct value TJUNCTION.

Here are the steps I get today while typing this message:

    ACPI hardware monitor
    Temperature 0 45note ° C (112 ° F) [0xC6E] (THRM)

Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T6400 hardware monitor
    Temperature 0 56a ° C (° F 132a) 0 x [31] (Core #0)
    Temperature 1 54a ° C (° F 129a) 0 x [33] (Core #1).

Monitor hardware ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
    53A temperature 0 ° C (° F 127a) (GPU Core)

    Hardware Hitachi HTS543232L9S monitor
    Temperature 0 37â? Â ° C (98A? Â ° F) (0 x 25) (Assembly)

From now you mind, windows taskbar indicates that I use roughly about 15 & 35% CPU. After a little use, I even though the CPU heats by a maximum of 69a ° C.

The truth is, I don't know what to do with these readings, is my laptop which works very well, or he has problems? Could someone please tell me what should be the optimal level of heat for a P300, or where I can learn?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

In my opinion, everything is ok with your laptop, buddy and the temperatures are quite good. Don t be to worry about this!
If your laptop could overheat, it would have to close or freeze immediately. If this isn't the case, everything is ok with the temperatures.

What you can do is to change the cooling method in Windows power management. Here, you change between performance and battery optimized cooling.

By the way: you should also clean your laptop at any time. I clean my laptop every 3-4 months using a jet of compressed air. This blows the dust from the cooling fans.

  • Heating of CPU for no reason?

Laptop: HP nx6125, running Windows XP Professional

Looks like it was the fan after all. I used a vacuum cleaner, but only from the outside of the laptop (there are too many screws to open, so I finally just used the vacuum cleaner on the areas where the air comes from). It worked absolutely.

  • My cpu fan runs very fast

My laptop is HP 430.I bought a month ago. but now m facing a problem that my left side of laptop heat & the cpu fan turns very quickly, and issued to hot air. Although I don't run any proggram when I start my windows.i checked for Task Manager and saw that my ram is support 1.44 - 1, 62 moy. now what can I do now?

Theedude Hello.  I understand that your laptop runs very hot.

First, follow the steps in this document to ensure that the cooling area is free from dust and debris.

I suggest also that update you your BIOS.  Here is a link to the latest BIOS.

Let me know the result.  Have a wonderful day.

  • My Qosmio X 870 - 14 d heats up in 10 minutes

    Hello.

I myself Qosmio X 870-14 t. It heats up in 10 minutes, even if I play most basic games and stops. Heat the CPU reaches 90 and it closes. I have send to warranty 3 times in 2 months. They update and simply send it back. Toshiba just don't like.

What can I do guys? I really need to fix it. But in my country, the Toshiba support is horrible.
What can I do about it?

    Hello

Generally, the laptop overheats because the internal parts produce too much heat or cooling modules internal don t work properly and is unable to cool internal parts.

Why the internal parts would produce too much heat? Well, this can be possible if you want to use graphics drivers that are not designed for mobile use.
For example the drivers from nVidia or ATI don t support GPU overheating protection. These drivers allow the GPU to run with the best performance (if necessary). This could lead to more heat dissipation and finally overheating.
Published on the pages of Toshiba GPU drivers are changed to the use of the laptop and support this kind of protection.

Why cooling fans can cool the parts?
Especially because of the dust inside the vents to laptop. It would also be possible that cooling vents and fans are clogged with dust and don't twist not properly and air can circulate properly. In this case, the laptop must be cleaned.

Finally, it might be possible that the thermal grease that is placed between module of cooling CPU isn't good enough or parched. This would also affect the cooling of the processor and would lead to a higher temperature.

So, as you see, there are many reasons why cell phone may overheat.

  • How can I reduce thermal excessive CPU in a dc5100sff with a 651 office 3.4 GHz Pentium 4?

I have a desktop dc5100 Small Form Factor (sff) PC.  Processor: Pentium 4 651 TDP of 86 Watts, Windows XP Pro, 80 GB SATA II (3 Gb/s) hard drive and a heat sink CPU upgrade / fan with 3 copper heat pipes h/p p/n: Rev.D 36449-001.  He ran ~ 60 when I bought the OEM 2 copper pipe heat radiator and fan, and the addition of the new radiator/fan assby. with heat copper 3 pipes had no improvement OEM.  I noticed when the temperature of the processor even reaches 65 ° C; the fans never accelerate.  I went into the BIOS and triggered the setting (under 'THERMAL') to 'level 5' comes from the idle processor fan to maintain temperatures at the SC 50'.  I also removed the heatsink heat from the processor and applied new thermal "grease", and that did not help.  Anyone have any suggestions? or have I missed something?  I have all the downloads firmware BIOS installed.

    Hello wfejnieh2,

You should do a few things when dealing with the heat inside the computer.

1 clean the entire system and make sure there is no excessive amounts of dust inside the computer. Over time dust accumulates in the system so that's to be expected, however you want to ensure that dust does not start clogging up the system.

    2. check all your fans. Make sure that all fans are working properly and look. If a fan does not work, it must be replaced.

    3. make sure that none of the fans blocking the air flow. This will also include ensuring that the fans are either blowing or depending on need fans.

    4. If your processor is running hot check the heatsink and make sure it works properly. If the heatsink is not or do not do is then the processor will fire and do it quickly.

  • Doesn't let me change the Cpu fan!

    Hey guys,.

My cpu hp craped out fan and I tried to buy another fan I removed the old an and replace now the new fan will only work 830 RPM compared to the former which took place in 1800 as soon as the computer I tired about three different fans, it seems that he wants only foxxcon fan to work right so my question is How can I change the cpu fan with a one outside the foxxcon aftermartket because I can not find the same! model is a P6000 P6741f series!

really want your help, I won't heat my cpu!

    Thank you!!!

    Ryan. D

Therefore, replace the fan with a new and new thermal interface materials.

Check the time against the maximum allowed for your CPU. Temperatures 10 degrees cooler (in degrees C) thean max when you run a game requiring high graphics so stop worrying.

  • Satellite M70-164 don't seam to work at all

I have an old M70-164 which was daily used (windows XP SP3 Home) as my work machine (not to mention the usual stuff of MSoffice and webbrowsing, I use molecular modeling software, Python interpreter and some software of image rendering, as well as be used to access a network of Linux machines).

It has been used this way for the past four years or so! Battery of died you long ago, and I never use it.
PS died too, and I use a newer version (with the same exact specifications).
A week ago, the computer wouldn't start. I noticed that the hot water heat exchanger (he found to be turned off when the Windows logo has showed - about 5 to 10 seconds after pressing the power button) and who offered to throw a poor circulation of air heat exchanger.

I backed up my data HD connect HARD drive in an external enclosure Sata USB HD and backup on my desk at home.

I took the machine apart and clean all the components (there was actually a lot of debris restricting air flow). It was in pieces, I also replaced again had heat on CPU (without removing it from the socket) and on the GPU). Put everything together and it worked fine! Can it run much cooler it is used for :-).

I decided to reinstall the OS using the cd Toshiba provided (including Windows XP and all hardware drivers), as I already had all of the saved data. No problems!

By updating the operating system (to SP3) after being prompt to restart, it did not.
I used the system restore cd, once again, and installed Windwos XP normally.
I stopped the machine and planed to do the updates the next day!

    And it's my problem now!
The machine is not sewing to work at all! The LCD screen is the lightup (completely black as if its judgment).

I have to check it connected to an external monitor, but even if the LCD screen is faulty, I expect some HARD drive that is not present activities!

Did someone faced a similar problem? any suggestions?
I'm going to hook it up to an external monitor tonight and will display the result!

    Best regards

    Hello

    I m not very well what happened, but you should first try this;
Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Then wait some time (1-2 hours)

After that, connect the battery and plug in the AC adapter.
After this attempt to turn the unit

If this will not help, remove the RAM module and try to power the device using an alone module RAM

Hope this helps if not the laptop developed a serious hardware problem

  • Satellite L750 turns on and turns off by itself using Linux

Today, I had some strange behavior on my laptop. It closes unexpectedly, after showing a dialog box saying "your computer will stop in 60 seconds". And then when I turn it back on, it stops just before the start and it turns on by itself after a few seconds.

It not too much heat, the CPU temperature is normally between 50 - 60 c (I constantly monitored using Conky). In addition, someone told me to upgrade the BIOS, so I did it, but the problem persists. I also tried to replace the RAM and run a memcheck, but everything looks good on the side of the memory.

I use linux and had a look on ' / var/log/syslog ", but I'm not sure that I know exactly what to look for. Messages saved before you stop do not seem to describe something suspicious.

I use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, but it seems that the problem is more hardware related and I would like to study what are the causes stop randomly. The same thing on Windows, but there is no warning before stopping.
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L750-11w.

    Clues would be greatly appreciated.

    > I use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, but it seems that the problem is more hardware related and I would like to study what are the causes stop randomly. The same thing on Windows, but there is no warning before stopping.

You have verified the functionality of the laptop using the Windows system, but have you used the Toshiba recovery disc and have you tested with factory settings?

I m wondering about the message: your computer will shut down in 60 seconds

If this would be a hardware problem, then the laptop would be closed without any warning messages.
So I guess there must be a software problem, I guess that some triggers for setting this automatic valve downwards.
But to be honest, I have no idea of what parameters can be

If you think that its hardware problem, I guess only a laptop computer technician would be able to help you.

  • Satellite A30 303 overheating and random stop.

Well on this laptop, it came out over a period of 20 months ago, the last year I had an overheating problem, I temporarily delayed by buying two desk fans to him but this summer I sent him far from being 'fixed' then after 1-2 months to be fixed the problem slowly began to re-occuring more often most of the time when I run the games.

Then I talked to some friends and they said on the incompatibility of the RAM somehow another ram of 256 in and it was not compatible with the original so I removed it and purchased a new 512 to go with 256. ALWAYS the laptop turns off, so RAM incompatibility was not the cause. I also bought a cooler laptop yesterday, that actually made it worse my computer now turns off a few seconds of a game being loaded.

I went into a store model, and they said to the ventilation systems for laptop as if they were defective when creating, they will continue to be faulty even when 'fixed '. What can I do about it? I'm looking for the cause.

I also had the computer under warranty for a year, but now the problem that was supposed to be fixed reappeared, but im now out of warranty, can't that ask something since the same problem they're supposed to difficulty is still there?
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi Bill,

Overheating and random power offs are surprisingly common on this model of laptop. The problem arises because the debris and dust is sucked into the grilles of the fan on the bottom of the laptop and is then trapped in the heat sink CPU effectively blocks. A thermal cut-out will work when the CPU temerature becomes too high and turns off the phone to avoid any damage.

Regular clearing of debris in the heat sink is necessary (I do mine a week). Usually a domestic pipe against the bars of fresh air fan will be sufficient, although in severe cases, it may be necessary to remove the radiator (accessible by removing a panel of access at the bottom of the laptop) and manually clear the debris.

  • Z240 HP SFF: HP SFF Z240 random crashes, blue screens and crashes

    Hello

My work machine is a Mini PC Z240 from HP. Last month, the machine began to hang randomly and display blue screen errors. There is not much in the way perceptible models, but it tends to happen when the machine is in use, rather than the idling, and I can reproduce it systematically using the constraint of Prime95 test utility. When I put it to maximize the heat of CPU, as soon as I stop the test, the screens of the blue machine, which indicates a cooling issue.

Fan of the machine is very quiet, although occasionally he becomes very strong after a reboot and then quieted down.

I think the fan to get a louder as the CPU gets hotter during the stress test, but this does not happen, so I wonder if the fan is defective, and if it is a known problem with these machines, or if there is no possible resolution.

Please see below for the output of BlueScreeView, which displays error codes produced by these last blue screen errors.

  • HP z800

No one answered yet, so I'll add my opinions.

It will be extremely difficult to put a Z820 motherboard in a Z800 chassis.  Z820 and Z800 motherboards have the same physical size, but there are a lot of problems by using the same chassis.  Here are some differences between the Z820 and Z800:
-Z820 power cables are different and need to be replaced.  The side panel must be removed to replace the cables by the Z820 ones.
-L' Z820 food is different.  It has the same appearance as a PS Z800, but has different voltage rails.  They are not compatible with each other.
-The Z820 motherboard has a notch in a different place for the PS to move the cables.

-Several Z820 motherboard mounting holes do not mach the Z800, and chassis are different to accept the various holes and slots spacers.
-Z820 rear i/o connectors are different, so they will not match the cuts in the chassis back I/O area.
-The Z820 CPU and memory are found in a different situation from that of the Z800.  This causes other problems:
-Z820 uses the CPU passive radiators and a big fan of CPU/memory with 6 fans in it.  The Z800 uses CPU heatsinks with built-in fans.  Times the CPU fan and sinks thermal assembly must be replaced to the Z820.
-Z800 memory fan will not work with the Z820;  The Z820 is the big fan of CPU/memory.
-Façade Z820 cables have fewer pins and a different pinout than the Z800.  We can't cable Z800 P5 in the motherboard Z820.
-The front I/O cables of Z820 are different.  The Z820 has 2 USB 3.0 ports before requiring different cables.
-There could be other differences that I know not glib.

So, to put a motherboard Z820 in a Z800 chassis and the power supply, PS cables and connectors, heat sinks, CPU, CPU fan assemblies, as well as memory, I/O cutting back, changed PCB mounting hole locations, front power and I/O, and perhaps other elements need to be replaced.  The chassis Z800 and Z820 look the same, but everything about them is different.

My satellite P100-347 maintains close instantly then restart. All the solutions because its still new and very expensive for a replacement.

    Hello

It seems that your machine is overheating and then he made a stop for reasons of physical security.
You said that it happened when you play NFS carbon, it is a good sign for a cpu/vga heat problem.

I suggest you to clean your fan and your cooling system, because when it s clobbed with of the dust of the system cannot be properly cooled and it is stopped to avoid serious damage to your valuable equipment. Just be a can of compressed air and clean your cooling system (but gently, otherwise you may damage the fan who convey the air that is heated from cpu/vga)

Just a question: what drivers are installed for your vga? You have the original toshiba display drivers? If this isn't the case, then the problem is self explaining because schedules of the original nvidia/ati drivers are not suitable for laptops.
