    8 Windows Defender found nothing...

    9. laptop rebooted in normal mode, so I could create a restore point and that's when the RunDLL window errors popped up twice

I've exhausted myself looking on the net and the answer I get is to download Regcleaner to fix dll errors.  I've always learned not to mess with the registry.  I'm also not sure what I pay for if it's ligit or not.

Should I run AVG Free, Windows Defender, and Trend-Micro all at the same time

Should I just start Trend Micro, then when I want to scan virus in safe mode Windows Defender and AVG free?

As I sit here typing this on my laptop not affected, the Trend-Micro on my laptop infected started a scan for virus/Malware on its own.

    Thank you

    Hi Fit4lyf8,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.  First of all, thank you for providing so much information in your message.  It really helps to solve the problem when we have all the information we need!  Because AVG found so many Trojan virus the likelihood other files are damaged seems quite high.  RunDLL error is also a good indicator.  I think that the best starting point is to try to run the System File Checker.  This tool (SFC. (EXE) check files in use windows and, if problems are found, restore a good version of the file.  When running Windows Vista in Normal Mode or Mode without failure, you can use the following steps:

    1. open a CMD window as an administrator. (ORB start, all programs, accessories, right-click on command prompt, and then click Run As Administrator)

    2. run this command:
    sfc/scannow

3 monitor the results returned by SFC.

Watch carefully the result of present SFC in the command prompt window. The three possibilities and their conclusions are:

    o SFC found no problem
This means that versions of the correct system files are used by Windows Vista, SFC.exe can determine. If you're still having problems in Windows, it could be questions of registry (SFC checks the files, not the registry), software installed on Windows or equipment.

o the SFC found and fixed the problems
This means that the SFC may have solved your problem. Try to reproduce the problem again. If the problem persists, it may be that there is unrelated to system file issues. But the presence of these questions could indicate that corruption

o the found but SFC could not fix problems
This means that there are more important issues with the Windows system files. It could be that you have corruption in the SFC store uses for recovery. In this case, you may need to reinstall VIsta.

Before you decide to reinstall VIsta let us know the results of the analysis of the system files.  There may be other measures we can take before reinstalling.  I hope this information is useful.

    Thank you

  • Error at startup. Need serious help.

I am not able to perform a search on Google.com and especially all the search engine, it's evidence of a connection not approved and if I get complete site then it works some time (for example www.facebook.com). I tried to configure the real clock timings. In addition, even after download ad-blocker, I always face problems ad.

What is the message of the error at startup? Is it in the page itself or a pop-up?

There are several potential causes of generalized certificate errors. It's Firefox is not completely set up to work with your security software (or using Firefox's Reset feature, which means that set up again). But the malware is also a potential culprit.

You have added all the exceptions (using the Add Exception button in the section "I understand the risks" of the error page)?

You can check that your Firefox connection settings have not been changed:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced > tab mini network > button "settings".

You can try 'No proxy' it.

  • trayyapp error at startup

I downloaded a few Assistant s/w and hp driver printer for my dv4 and maybe a few other s/w HP.  Now, I get a Trayapp.msi error at startup.  I don't see no trayapp s/w can I specifically reinstall or remove.  How can I tell what s/w must be reinstalled to get rid of this error?

It is likely a piece of software which it was installed or uninstalled recently. You have installed an HP printer on this computer?

The Realtek RTL8101 PCI Ethernet v 1.02 (060510) gives error during startup. The error is to run is as follows

PXE - E61 Media Test failed
    MOF: Left PXE ROM

Can any help with this problem

    Concerning

    Hello

Hmm you ve you have a problem with the Vista boot! :|

Usually, this message appears because the BIOS can not find a source of start-up as ODD or HARD drive and then try to boot from LAN.

Perhaps the BIOS can not find HARD drive due to a hardware problem.

Hmmm. First of all, you should try to change the boot order in the BIOS. Put the HARD drive as first boot device.
Save the settings and try to restart the laptop. If it is not possible to start the Windows Vista I guess that HARD drive is dead!

Have you tried to reinstall Windows Vista using the Toshiba Recovery CD? Check this box!

If all this procedures don't help I recommend you contact the ASP in your country.
The technician must check the laptop and if necessary, it should replace the HARD drive.
Your warranty is valid so that everything should be done for free.

    Good luck

    Hello

    1. you remember to make changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. What is the full error message you get started?

    3. what happens when you try to start in safe mode?  You get the error message?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Run a virus with Microsoft Safety scanner scan to check if the computer is clean.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Method 2: Perform a clean boot and check the issue.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Once more, you can check if you are able to get into safe mode.  Refer to this article:

  • Error at startup of disc

Whenever I boot, I get the message

"Read a disk error has occurred."
    Press Ctrl-Apt-del to restart. "

The only changes I made were resize the partition about 60 GB with gparted (remember, the windows partition had about 260 GB free in any case) and installed ubuntu on this very place, I released. Basically, now everytime I try to boot Windows I get this error. It's only a few minor drawbacks at the moment, but I'd appreciate something to help me get to use my application. [b] on ubuntu, I can mount the complete file system, browse and correct it. [/ b] The file system is very good, the hard drive is fine.

If you can help at all, please, I have an Acer Aspire M1100 with stock hardware installed. Do not run Windows 7 my Dell Dimension 3000 shit goes, that's why I have Windows XP installed.

Hi Mike - I found this thread through a search - I hope this is OK to post here...

I now get the same error message on my PC (Dell Dimension 4100) after the x Sockets in my house jumped - off the PC - and then back on later. PC has XP Professional on it. I looked through the XP CD Recovery Console - chkdsk reported mistakes - I've also run fixboot and fixmbr but I get the same error at startup. I don't seem to be able to start using the XP CD.

Have you advice? In addition, my partners laptop has Vista and a DVD - RW drive - I would be able to make a disk bootable CD to start XP?

    Thanks, Nobby

    Chris,
If you put a different HARD drive in your current machine with existing XP is installed, you can have a bit of a problem.  If XP has been installed on the drive in another machine then it will search for the material of the other computer.  So if you put another drive in this machine, you may have to reinstall XP on it.  Or you can put this drive in another machine as a slave drive and save your files.  Anyway I think that you will be able to recover your information since you were able to do an installation to and able to navigate so that in the Recovery Console.
Once you have your data safe, I would check with Western Digital for a disk utility that can test the drive completely.  At this point, he may be able to format and mark bad sectors and make it again completely usable.

    Hello

Google who provides virtually no information that suggests it might be the malicious program or a start remains for her entry search

Download update and scan with the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/MBAM.php

You can also download and run rkill to stop the process of problem before you download and scan with malwarebytes

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill

If it does not remove the problem and or work correctly in normal mode do work above in safe mode with networking

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

If the error persists after scanning use this program to out startup

Immediately followed by an error (event ID 137) that says "on the C: volume default transaction resource manager encountered a one-time error and could not start. The data contains the error code. »

I am running windows 7 ultimate in any way to solve this problem?

    Hello

This problem occurs if the Windows file system transaction log is damaged. The Windows file system uses the transaction log to retrieve the system transactions when a file error occurs. The system of common log (CLFS) transaction logs may be left in an inconsistent state. When the CLFS transaction logs are in an inconsistent state.
To resolve this problem, delete the files .blf and .regtrans-ms in the folder % Windir%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine.
After you restart the computer, the registry regenerates the deleted files. These regenerated files are in a consistent state.
    1. click on Start , type cmd in the Search box, and then click cmd in the list of programs .

    2. click on run as administratorand then click continue.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

    3. at a command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
    fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\
    Note
these steps assume that Windows is installed in the default location, drive C. If this is not the case, adjust the drive letter of the path of the folder to match your configuration.

    4 restart the computer.

    I hope this helps.
