Help networking running ESX (i) in the VM Workstation

Hi everyone-

Hope someone can help.

I have ESX (i) running in the VM Workstation on my laptop. My problem is that I can't move from my laptop to the domestic VMs. The route correctly on VMs inside and I can communicate back and forth with ESX just cannot access the internal VMs from my laptop. I can ping the default gateway of my laptop workstation VM virtual network editor implements.

-On promiscuous mode

-Tried several options with nic, vSwitch and VM workstation network Editor.

Any ideas on how to Setup network for this config? Goal is to be able to RDP to internal VMs.

Thank you

Jason

This should be pretty easy - please show a screenshot of your network virtual Editor settings.

Here is all I have to do on the ESXi vmnet0 for example ethernet card

the host can have the IP 10.0.0.1, the ESXi then takes 10.0.0.2 and the nested VM gets 10.0.0.3
I don't have to manually set routes at all

It should also work with vmnet0 and DHCP for three - assuming you have a DHCP server that is connected to the bridged the host network adapter

during troubleshooting, turn off the firewall host and the nested VM

  • Firefox does not open, and when I try to use the "run", it says that the file has been moved, etc. I use Windows 8 and I can't lose my favorites. Help?

Firefox has been great to work on my computer for months and then suddenly he could not load pages. So, naturally, I restarted my computer, but when it restarted Firefox does not open. The icon lights for a bit as usual, then it fades and never actually opens. When I try to use the "run" command, I get this error:
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer or on a network. Make sure that the disc is inserted correctly, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it can't be located, the information may have been moved to another location. »
I also tried the same thing for the file in the x 86 folder, but it gave the same error and I went and looked for the files in the given location and they were there.
Firefox is not to fall down, so he isn't there an other error message, I can give you.
The things that I had my favorites are really important, I can not lose those, but I am fine with anything else have to re-installed, etc..
    Help please?

I've never tried it myself, but the forum has a series of measures for a "clean reinstall" Firefox. Even if you do not delete the record of your personal settings (AKA profile) during this process, a backup of this folder is always a good idea in case something goes wrong.

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

  • Help: network access lost after relocation of the host

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 in VMWare Player. The operating system is Windows which I just reinstalled. Problem is that now the Ubuntu VM has no connection to the internet. In the virtual machine, network adapter settings, the setting was NAT. If I changed it to Bridged, that would not work either. In Bridged mode, if I check 'State of physical to replace network connection', that still does not work. If I click on "Configure adapters" mode bridged, it allows me not select any host network adapter.

I read online that a tool called vmnetcfg.exe could help, but the old ways to get the file (from the Setup file of Vmware) does not work for me.

    Your help is appreciated!

    Welcome to the community,

you see the virtual card 'VMware Network Adapter VMnet8' when you run ipconfig/all on the host? If Yes, are you able to ping IP address of the guest OS?

Did you install VMware Player by right clicking the installation package and run 'as administrator '? It is not uncommon that UAC or request a virus scan/point of endpoint protection prevents the VMware Player installation correctly. What VMware services see the upward in the control panel?

  • ThinApped application requiring a mounted network drive and get "Unable to connect to the sharedDbLibrary" when the application is running on W7 and the drive is mounted

We have an application that needs to have a specific network drive, mounted with a the letter I:\. This support allows the application to access some of the files that must be available for the application to run.

If the I: drive is not mounted then the application will not work and you get the following message if displays the runtime "Impossible to connect to the sharedDbLibrary.".

We have the application on an XPSP3 box thinapped and everything works fine as long as the drive is mounted.

The ultimate goal is to have the application thinapp running on a workstation of W7.

We have mounted drive I:\ on a post of W7 and ran the thinapp app by making the same error message that allows us to obtain under XP as drive I:\ was not mounted "impossible to connect to the sharedDbLibrary".

We checked that the drive I:\ is accessible and we also validated that the path is good. We were able to reproduce the problem in a Windows 2008 box, as well on the other hand the thinapp works fine on a Windows 2003 operating system.

So basically with the drive I:\ mounted on XP and Windows 2003 the app big short thinapp. With the same drive I:\ mounted on W7 and W2008 application does not run and we get the same message that allows us to get on WXP and W2k3 when drive I:\ was not mounted and the app couldn't find the mapped drive.

Anyone know how to start to solve this problem?

Have you had a look at this blog post? http://blogs.VMware.com/ThinApp/2011/04/making-Windows-XP-only-apps-run-on-Windows-7.html

It might help you to add necessary dll and get the app runs on Win7.

  • Search engines not available, except in mode "Run as Administrator". delete the parent.lock file profiles did not help

After the upgrade to 21 FF, search engines no longer appear in the bar at the top right of the screen, so no searches are possible. I can navigate to my favorites and apparently also to the links contained in the e-mails.

If I right click on the FF icon and choose the "Run as Administrator" option, the search engines are there again. I tried to delete the parent.lock in the profiles folder, that this solution was solved a problem I've had recently with the previous version of FF (not being not able to open FF and getting the error message on another version of it running, which had to be closed in the first place - but there was no other version running.) In this case, too, before I discovered the solution, I could open FF using the option "Run as Administrator"). However deleting the parent.lock file does not resolve this issue.

    Hi BSRC$, in stock

    1. You have security software installed on the computer?
    2. You receive an error message when you restart the computer?

Reinstalling Windows XP to the factory setting would not be the first option.

It is possible that some third-party programs or the services installed on the computer interfere with the installation of service pack 3.

I suggest that you try to uninstall service pack 3 from the computer by using the recovery console and subsequently ask the article below for what to do before installing the service pack 3on the computer.

Sorry, the only case I know not regarding this error is if you try to use Microsoft Backup to make a backup on a CD or DVD drive.

Because you said that another XP box can do a backup to the same location in the Windows 7 box, I assume that you do not attempt to use a CD/DVD drive.

Can anyone offer suggestions that could help me solve this puzzle?

    RangerDude

There is no LAN or wireless connections because the drivers are not installed for Ethernet controller and network controller.

If your computer came with a disk of driver installation, use it to install the drivers.  If it does not, use a different computer to access the web site of your computer manufacturer and download Windows XP drivers for your computer model.   Then transfer them to your computer and install them.

    Hello!
I am running windows xp sp3, the volume icon disappears from the taskbar on each reboot or shutdown/startup.kindly, help with any permanent solution known.i should go to the control panel and to recover it again whenever I turn my on.kindly advice, someone machine me a solution permanently this problem.i want to stay always on the taskbar the volume icon.
the honest answer is expected... Thank you!

    Hello

    Try this:

Control Panel - device - sounds Manager - note manufacturer device name and info on the graduating model.
Double click and get the date and version of the driver (if 06 are dates, you use the default windows driver). Now
Click the DRIVER UPDATE (this can not find anything because MS is far behind the certification of drivers). Now LAW
CLICK above and UNINSTALL - REBOOT - it will refresh the driver stack.

Now, go to the manufacturer of the system and recover the last pilot audio/Hi-Fi as a fall.

Download it - SAVE - go to where you put it - RIGHT CLICK top - RUN AS ADMIN - REBOOT

Now do the same for the manufacturer of the device (the one that made the device - if you were using the default windows
you might need to look in the Device Manager - his new driver).

Often, you will need to run the sound card drivers several times to get the latest version installed and will appear in
Manager - Sound. This is because they make back the drivers one at a time and then finally install the
most recent. Look in the Device Manager to be sure that you have installed the version of the driver is the one showing, if not
run the driver again (reset each time) until the shows a correct.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
