Help, please. My HP Pavilion Entertainment PC (laptop) won't start.

It worked perfectly fine the day before.

But when I pressed the button "Activate" this morning, nothing happened to her.

Problems I've noticed recently with my laptop:

-Whenever I tried to open 2 PDFs at the same time, my computer laptop lag and the screen would be white and fuzzy graphics and static-like.

-It makes funny noises high frequency when turned on.

-It has a very short range, it goes to 80% to 40% battery life in a time of 15 minutes approximately.

I really want my laptop back, it contains a lot of files and important memories.

Note: I'm not that savvy with technology, so please keep your tips! Thank you!

Thanks for your help

Electrical components sometimes must have all the food sources removed and reintroduced to work properly.  Try to perform a hard reset first, if this does not work then we will move on to the next step.

To perform a hard reset

  • Shut down the computer by going to the menu start and select shut down. (If you have no display, hold the button for 5 seconds); (if the computer don't market, go to the next step)
  • Unplug the adapter from the laptop.
  • Remove the battery from the bottom of the laptop.  There will be a switch/battery eject button.
  • Wait at least 1 minute with all sources of power disconnected.
  • Reinsert the battery and reconnect the power adapter, and then try to turn on the laptop.

    Hello

    This backup after pressing F11 is a HP backup option, not a Microsoft option.

    I suggest that you contact HP or ask their Support Forums.

    It's the normal advice I'd give to record data; but we have no idea of the State of your hard drive.

    Saving your files:

    You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.

    Or, you can download Knoppix > make a bootdisk to > start your system with it (IF your material is all work) > and copy your data from the hard drive like that.

  • Help! Laptop won't start up. BSOD "Stop: c000021a {fatal system error}...". »

    I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 1750. Since Sept 09.

    Starting from Saturday, may 8 my system won't start up

    I turn it on it loads the Dell logo, loads the windows logo, and then flashes a blue screen for a split second (the blue screen flashes so quickly that it is difficult to read what he says, so I recorded it and it comes up with "STOP: c000021a {fatal system error} the verification of a knownDLL failed.") system process finished unexpectedly the status of 0xc000012f (0x0007c220 0x00000000) the system has been shut down.) and restarts after the dell logo loading again it goes to a black screen with the options to launch start up repair or start windows normally.

    I have Launced the Startup Repair, after loading files and checking for problems it says then Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically. I made the diagnosis and he says there is no problem, I have contatced dell as it is still under warranty but they said this isn't a hardware problem, it is a software problem and infact NOT covered by the warranty and I have to pay £60 to have the support of the software. I don't have a recovery disc and tried to restore the system to an earlier stage. But no luck!

    Was hoping someone here, perhaps a solution. Please please please help!

    Thank you very much

    Status 0xc000012f is "STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_NOT_MZ" - "the file specified image did not have the correct format, it did have an initial MZ." (anecdote: binary windows start with MZ - the initials of Mark Zbikowski - who was a promoter of the MS-DOS product)

    That, with "a knownDLL verification failed."  Basically telling you that you have corrupted files on your system.  Any chance you are able to boot into safe mode or safe mode with command prompt to run SFC/scannow?  Can you somehow shoot out of the system event logs and check the events worthy of attention?  Are you all able to run chkdsk on the drive through the command prompt in the System Recovery Options?

    I suspect that your HARD drive has a problem, generally, it's like that, it won't start if the HARD drive was fried on you, try a key recovery to restore as long as day 1. Otherwise, buy a slap of casing 2.5 drive your hard drive inside, save the files after reinstall windows 8 or make the one key recovery.

    my laptop attempted to restart - exceeded the screen with the Green loading bar, and then he stopped, leaving a black screen.

    so I forced a stop, restart and vista suggested 'launch Startup Repair' I did. Several times. Sometimes it ends and suggests what to do a "system restore." so I press 'ok' - then it tells me that it cannot restore the system.

    I know that's not a problem with the memory because I managed to run the memory-default-checker tool

    What happens ____?

    I reallly need to my laptop to continue my master's thesis.

    Help, please!

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:
    1. a System Restore to before the updates:
    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next
    If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.
    If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:
    Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.
    System restore steps according to the info above.
    Also:
    2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window
    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
  • Acer laptop won't start
    Hello, I'm new here... In any case my Acer Aspire E 15 won't start. All I get is a small box blue message which said: lack of default boot device or startup failed. Insert the recovery media and press a key. Then select "Boot Manager" to select a new device boot or Boot Recovery Media. " So I press on enter a couple of times just to go back to the same blue message dialog box. I tried to go and wait five seconds to launch a kind of recovery, but it did not work. Then I activated the f12 boot sequence, and this alteration has nothing. My laptop did not come with a CD/DVD player, when my father bought new last Christmas. I uninstalled Microsoft Office Spotify and Amazon the last time that I logged online. The 64-bit Windows 8.1 is built in. Maybe that remove some files. IDK. What should I do? Do I need some sort of media recovery USB device? Your help is appreciated. Thanks, Neil
    It was a hardware problem and now it is fixed. Back to zero once again.
  • laptop won't start not
    my HP pavilion laptop is not start properly.  We conducted a diagnostic test HP and its entry to the top with the following error messages:
    -check dst short of hard drive: failed.  ID of congestive RLW004 - 7027 has 6-MFPWWK-60VU03
    -optimized hard drive dst check: failed.  ID of congestive RLW004 - 7027 has 6-MFPWWK-61VC03
    Any ideas?
    Laptop is less than years so presumably under warranty...
    Hello
    The two error codes 24 characters for the drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the startup problem.
    As your laptop should still be under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the replaced disk - you can check the status of your warranty here.
    If you live in the United States, contact HP here.
    If you are in another part of the world, begin here.
    As you probably know Evesham closed to the public in 2008.
    I think that your computer is a portable computer. I can't access a free copy of the manual, but I imagine that you have a copy of the operating system on the hard drive in a recovery partition. Am I wrong?
    Before attempting to repair your computer, you will need to back up your data files on removable media. If the computer does not start, you need access to a second computer at home. Do you have a? If Yes is it a desktop or a laptop?
    I would also ask if you comfortable using a screwdriver to remove the hard drive of your laptop Evesham, put it on an external support which can be purchased via Amazon and its connection to a USB port on the second computer. These are not difficult tasks, but not everyone wants to take on this task. If not comfortable take your laptop to a local computer repair shop.
    As for the repair of your laptop once you have recovered your data files, restore the operating system to factory settings using the copy of Windows XP, which I think is more than likely in a recovery partition. It will be activated by single key, perhaps the F10 or F11 key or you can have an option in the menu that appears when you press the F8 key during the boot process. It also seems that Evesham commonly supplied recovery discs.
    If a factory restore does not work I would then test the memory.
  • Help, please! ... Overheating laptop v3-551-8883 Aspire?
    Hi, in Christmas mental disabled sister, I bought a laptop Aspire v3-551-8883. She loves him and he allows her to stay in touch with the people and face. She called me last week because she had problems with her. I am far from being an assistant tech but I can usually work my way through the computer problems without too much trouble.
    The computer seems to be...
    (1) bogged down with malware or a virus
    (2) overheating and shutdown
    It was not easy with it overheating and turn it off, but I managed to erase the hard drive and do a fresh install of windows 8 (which it came installed with). According to me, which would have eliminated most of the malware and viruses.
    Initially I thought that the overheating could be due to the malware or virus, but even after I reformatted it maintains power off after 15-20 minutes.
    I've seen several videos and messages on the problems of fans and I think that's probably the fan. I can see the rotation of the fan when the computer is turned on but it nevers seems to go fast enough to cool the machine (and the 'exit air' area move same tissue, when placed in front of him).
    SpeedFan will not identify the fan if this program does not help.
    The laptop is less than 1 year - would it still under warranty? (I did not buy a good scope)
    I don't want to make a history of sobbing, but my sister was in tears when I told her that I couldn't still attached to his computer.
    Can someone please offer me some advice or assistance?
    Thank you
    Hello
    How can I get my system running with a large number of documents I have to deal with this topic
    Hello
    Try the following.
    If you do not, use another PC to create a Windows 7 recovery CD.  Download the ISO relevant among the links below.
    Windows 7 32 bit
    Windows 7 64 bit
    You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  One time created, or if you already have this, insert the CD and restart at the start of it.  Select repair.
    Select 'Repair your computer' and follow the guide here to run the Windows system restore - Option 2 choose a restore point at least 24 hours before installing the Blackberry software.
    Kind regards
