Update XP or office 7, made my dumb computer

installed XP twice, lost his card after an update on XP or Office 7.  thinking it was my installation, I installed again.  Same thing happened that after the upgrade has been installed.  No sound system, not even from CD play.  My Manager diving equipment tells me everything is going well and all the drivers are loaded.  All sound systems are on.

Have you checked the volume control, maybe it's been cut off or something?

1. open the control panel in the start menu.
2. click on the Speech sounds and Audio Devices icon. (Or, depending on how your control panel is set up, click sounds and Audio devices.)
3. click on "Adjust the system volume."

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

  • Windows XP Installer does not not for updates or MS Office 2010. Error says Safe Mode, but I'm not in it.

Windows XP Installer doesn't work is not for the automatic updates or MS Office 2010. Error says Safe Mode, but my machine is not in Mode without failure.

When I try to run MS Office 2010, it starts a dialog box "preparing to install...." "even if I had used it for a few years. In the end, it fails and tells me whether I'm in Mode safe or I need to reinstall Windows Installer, I have done several times.

I can automatically download updates and they seem to be installed, but all fail at the end.

Any ideas on how to address this problem? Yes, I know that it is probably recommended to buy a new PC, but I need this machine operate fully for the next months. Then by reloading the operating system does not, either. He told me that my XP disc is the wrong version.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

First of all, try to disconnect from the internet and see if you can install the updates.

    If this isn't the case-

try to manually download the same and install.
You can search the individual updates here:

He just put in the KB number and then perform a search.

If this still creates one problem another thing you can try is disable the User Account Control first download before the update manually. See: (Guided Help: settings to adjust user account control in Windows 7):
