  I have ESXi 4.0.0 installed on a 1 TB drive. The system also has a 3ware 9690SA in a RAID5 configuration with 4x750GB drives.

  I go through the steps, it displays 2.0 TB of capacity, but when I get to "Current disc layout" it only 47GB available!

  What gives any suggestions/ideas? Why can't I get the full 2 TB?

  I guess that there is actually 2 TB + 47 GB. You must create 2 TB-512 b LUN, not even one more byte.

  I have a Dell 2950 with 5-750 GB drives in a Raid 5 configuration. With a new installation of 3.5ESXi or 4.0ESXi, I try and create a data store. The disk shows the system with 2.73 TB but only 743 GB of free space. How can I make ESX using the capacity of the disks?

  Welcome to communities,

  Currently ESX (i) only supports volumes with up to 2 TB less than 512 bytes. What you see, is your "full size" modulo 2 TB.

  I would recommend that you create a RAID set with all disks and presenting it as several logical volumes.

  I create a logical volume with 10 GB for the OS/hypervisor and divide the rest into two logical volumes that you can then use as data stores.

  To change the language for a response on your watch: Press answer > firmly press the screen > press on choose language > select Spanish.

  You can try to log in to your old account and then sign in with the ID again.  Your applications will be always related to the original account - you must use the old account to update.

  You are also looking to taste to 1 Hz data acquisition?

  My approach would be to use the DAQ acquisition to time your loop display reading each acquisition, then use the loop counter to control the logic of your writing to file.  For 1 Hz and 10 minutes write I would use 'quotient and remainder' I / 600; If rest = 0, then write the data point.

  For the date and time, under Calendar palette use the time get in seconds food a DateTime Format to a string.

  I studied the whims of the various raid options and I was wondering if anyone has any practical idea using tables PS5000 SATA?  Basically, the table will backup disks to virtual machines as well as Raid would be preferable for the performance and capacity?  I was thinking 50 Raid or Raid 6, that the table is at a distance of my office in one data center so that there could be 2 failures before the disaster...

  Hi Eric,.

  'best' depends entirely on the expected I/O model.  Small random writes should use R10.  RAID50 is usually a good compromise on space and performance.  But it has the risk of a double RAIDset faillée down.

  Another factor is that the PS5000 is end of life.  No support, firmware or parts of long term.  Help to off the shelf drives add uncertainty to the reliability of the table.   I would never use one of these for primary production so data.  To provide the best protection in this case, I would use only RAID6.   R10 would be down, but may suffer and failed with two failed disks in the mirror of the same value.
