  I just encountered this error for the first time since I started using AE about 6 years ago.

  I use a PC (windows 7 pro), i5 2.90 GHz 64-bit OS, 16 GB of RAM and 1 GB graphics card, dedicated 1 TB HDD for the Cache. Creative cloud subscription.

  I had no problem until the update 'after effects CC 2014 ", since this update, I can't generate a RAM Preview. I read many forums and I followed proposed solutions previously (serving, remove VCReflect plugin, AE started as administrator, etc.), does not.

  Thank you for your answers, I found the source of the problem. My anti virus a (for some unknown reason), blocking Adobe Dynamic Link. As soon as I unlocked this, it works perfectly.

  This problem started from nowhere for what I consider to be without reason. Average size of the compositions of 720 p with modest animations working.

  I tried all the proposed solutions on this forum, but nothing has worked. I'm under cool comps in AE CC with absolutely no plugins, freshly purged memory, clean the cache, rebooted comp, no other applications running on the computer and 13 GB of memory allocated to the AE... etc.

  I can't solve this problem.

  The After Effects team are investigating a bug in after effects CC 2104 (13.0) where a memory leak during audio cleanup (hold CTRL or command all rubbing). This leak memory can possibly consume RAM everything is free, which can cause the warning message "after effects error: Preview RAM 2 or more images for reading needs" when you try to open a RAM Preview.

  I now have this problem - as soon as I updated to Adobe after effects CC 2015. In fact, when I press play or start a ram preview, it gives the error. No plugins, totally clean model. If I wait 30 seconds or more, I press play and the problem disappears. I think it has to do with the new live preview in 2015 of CC.

  In recent days, After Effects has been giving me the most frustrating error. Almost everytime acronym, I try to RAM Preview, it is said 'After effects a need two or more frames to read' and will be ram not preview.

  I'm on Mac OSX 10.9.3, Mavericks have 8 GB of RAM, 2.2 GHZ i7. This problem seems to persist despite the amount of RAM I allocate for After Effects (AE currently has 7 GB, leaving 1 GB for other applications) it also happens with multithreading enabled and disabled.

  In addition, do not know if it's related, but everytime I open AE, it is extremely fast and responsive, which allows me to drag the layers around the model at full resolution without lag. After be opened for half an hour or so, solid flow 2 second behind every action, and any time I touch any layer in the comp, Adaptive resolution brings my screen down to 1/8th of quality. It is to be expected on a computer with my listing?

  The leak memory scrub audio that leads to this error has now been corrected. Try After Effects CC 20141 or later version (internal version 13.1).

  Hey all, I recently had this problem with my Adobe after effects (Version 13.2.0.49) CC. I had this on my previous version and after the update to the latest version of the software, I always get the 'After Effects error: Preview RAM needs 2 or more images for playback' each time I try preview RAM. I also have completely uninstalled and reinstalled AE and attempted to purge the of memory, but I still don't have the same error.

  
  

  Another question (not sure whether or not it is related to the error of RAM Preview?), is that when I press the play button, the green bar that is usually created at the playhead appears for 1 frame, then goes immediately after the playhead moves to the next frame.

  Hey guys I need help with my RAM Preview and how to get it back on the default setting. I don't know what happened, but now my RAM Preview is divided on two screens.   These views are used for 3D to show the different perspectives and views spelling of a 3D scene. When they have no use in 2D. If you clicked on the option to display 2 views or more they will appear unless you change it back manually. even when you reset your workspace, they will appear - so I understand why this can be confusing.

• RAM Preview is perfect / export all messed up! Help!

  So I basically a novice AE but I did several exports with what little I that I know and never had this problem. I did a small project for my child (Saber, blaster bolts etc.) about 5 total comps in the project. RAM Preview is perfect, everything is aligned. I used my mobile phone camera and have done similar short video with masks and never had this problem. (video source fps is 30.070 and each model is the same). As I said preview Ram is perfect, but when I export all effects are off center from where they should be. I have check the rendering settings and made sure it was the same fps as the comp... same problem. I tried different fps just to check (30, 29.97,24) even treat / tried h.264, mpeg - 4.same thing. tried the queue of rendering and Adobe Media encoder. the same problem.

  Thanks for the reply... I actually thought about it. I had moved the final model of the time line to do a cleaning of the screen with a black layer to reveal the images... This has messed up the layerst in the other masks.

  I just exported the movie finished and reimported it and did wipe the screen in a new project. This fixed it all.

  It's wonderful to have the right people on the forums that meet well... once again, thank you.

  I'm on Yosemite using CC 2014. RAM Preview spends about 1 to 1.5 seconds, where is the playhead, and then starts playing.

  How to get a preview of the video with sound (when I press 0), more than 30 sec long? If it is possible at all the... It wtites I don't have not enough resources for the RAM to listen to... seconds audio, even when I select a range on 2-3 minutes...

  If you need more time with your ram previews adjust the Zoom Ratio factor or to 25% magnification and resolution on Auto or set a resolution of 1/4. If that always gets you not what you want to set ignore frames at 1 or 2 in the Preview Panel. It is the only way to measure in the preview.

  If you use AE to edit you do not work effectively. AE is for the creation of pictures and short clips. A project of more than a few seconds may be better served by break up in scenes or short sequences, to make the pieces, then editing and polishing in Premiere Pro or your NLE of choice. I even cut animations of dynamic text (often improperly called lyric video) upward in one or two phrases or sentences, then do the final cut in first. It helps me to do in about half the time.

  Every time I try to get an overview of my project, in the exact same task, my computer hangs and a popup empty adobe pop-up OR after just accidents affect. This CERTAINLY isn't the graphics card in my computer or ram as I just bought the Razer Blade 14 with 16 GB of ram and one of the best graphics cards on the market. Literally... 3 days old... and all other applications works very well. But in the middle of my project, when I try to preview them in the ram preview, or add display Quebec, it crashes or "cannot create image buffer". What should I do? I really need to get this working. My mid-term depends on it.

  Yes.

  What could be even easier would be to take a sequence of images out of AE. Then, when it crashes, pick up rendering of the frame where it crashed. Then you can import the image sequence resulting in the first, After Effects, or Adobe Media Encoder as a single video file to add sound and render in your delivery format.

  If After Effects is not a problem with this specific framework, but breaks down just in general after a number of images, maybe enter in 'secret' of the AE preferences and change these settings might help. (A simple Google search will be a ton of information on this topic.)

• Slow bed RAM Preview

  Hi, my RAM Preview plays my video file (.mov) slow. It renders at the appropriate speed, then it is certainly a problem for RAM Preview. A few others have had this problem and fixed it, but none of their fixes worked for me.

  I tried to restart my computer, purging my cache, and ensuring that the frame rate is in the composition settings, video settings and RAM Preview settings "film". None of them have worked for me.

  Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  You will need to provide more details, System specs, video codec, etc., but many users have had this problem with Mac OS El Capitan.

  Try the AE 13.6.1 update that comes, it solved my problems of RAM Preview.
