Help RV180W Cisco

So, I have read and read about the configuration up to the static WAN of IP connection and cannot operate. I bought this router to replace an older Linksys router (WRT150N) so that I could better implement VPN. All I need is 2 remote connections. The Linksys router has been a lot of work with a static IP setting, so I thought that everything I do is enter the same parameters IP, subnet, gateway and DNS in the RV180W and it should work fine. Well it does not any connection to the internet. As far as I can see, there all the same set of parameters including the linksys.

Is there anything extra I have to do for a static WAN IP setting configuration.  I even contacted the ISP, but they say that their modem is very well and, of course, that they will not help with the router. As soon as I connect the linksys to the modem, access to the internet.

I'm not an engineer, but something is not allowing to all Internet services.  LAN is very good. I have attached a W7 laptop to the router, and it says that it cannot access the internet because of something about the proxy services. There are no server proxy so not sure it is.

Anyone can shed some light on this?  Either way, I tried another router manufacturer just to make sure it wasn't a defective RV180W, but that this router did not connect either - same question. If I put in place on my home service, both work but only with DHCP WAN settings.

Hi Bob, which is the old Linksys router LAN IP address? The error returned when you connected your computer to your modem is a DNS problem. Which can be easily corrected if DNS is really the issue.

When you connect your computer directly to the modem, open a command prompt or terminal and ping 8.8.8.8. When any IP address that is supposed to answer ping ping, it should work without problem. But if you ping something like www.google.com it should fail if the DNS is broken.

You can assign static DNS to a known working server. On a Windows computer, when you change your network card to use DHCP or static, on the bottom there is the same option to specify the DNS servers. Go ahead and use 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.2 for your DNS servers on the computer during the test and see if it works.

    NAT is your problem, IE.

    NAT (inside) 0-list of access inside_outbound_nat0_acl
    NAT (inside) 0 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 0 0

    presumanly first NAT is fot your good VPN that acl looks a little funny, what exactly are you doing with that?

    The second NAT is the real problem but for outgoing internet access - the NAT statement, you said not NAT one of your addresses 10.10.10.x which is a problem as 10.x.x.x address is not routable on the Internet.

    You must change this setting IE. -

    (1) remove the second NAT statement IE. "no nat (inside) 0 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0.

    (2) add a new statement of NAT - ' nat (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0.

    (3) add a corresponding statement global - global (outside) 1 interface.

    This will be PAT all your 10.10.10.x to external IP addresses.

    Apologies, but these are some CLI commands that I don't use PDM.

    My question is, can I use Cisco ACS 5.2 (or 4.2) to authenticate using GANYMEDE + to these other than Cisco devices. Has anyone else done this or I have to use RADIUS? If someone has done this are problems of interoperability with Cisco CS and Junos or XOS extreme. Thank you

    We have a very large deployment of Juniper (T-series, series MX, etc.). We use Cisco ACS and GANYMEDE to manage these devices. The configuration of the ACS is fairly simple. You'll want to create users to connect and match them to the classes on your JUNOS routers. Here is an example:

    set system login user uid of engineering 2000
    Set system login user engineering genius-class class
    set the connection user uid to NOC 2001 System
    Set system login user AC AC-class class

    define the system connection Engineering-class idle-timeout 15
    define a connection system class engineering-class permissions all
    define the system connection AC-class idle-timeout 15

    Set connection AC-class permissions see the system configuration

    We use two classes of genius and NOC. One is defined as a read / write and the second read-only. This is in turn then mapped in ACS (in our case version 4.2) by user or group (preferred). First, you change the configuration of the interface and add a Ganymede junos-exec service and do not enter the Protocol field. Then, you change the attributes of the user group. I've attached screenshots for both on this subject.

    Since how long did you ask? I want to mention that CCNA/P DC was relesed in November, before a review as DCUCI was a full certification and it is now part of the CCNP instead.

    I couldn't find a link where it is specifically stated that you must follow a specific order, for example here:

    642-999 DCUCI (one of the basic tests I mentioned) & DCUCT 642-035 (one of the troubleshooting tests I mentioned as well)

    For CCNA, there is no choice, only 2 exams available, it does not matter for CCNP, but 4 you access CCNP, different combinations will give Add tax certifications.

    However, keeping in mind the names of examinations, which can give you an idea of what you want to learn first:

    The parts of the configuration you posted seem better than earlier versions of the config. The initial problem was that traffic was not in the VPN tunnel. That works now?

    Here are the things I see in your config

    I don't understand the relationship of these 2 static routes by default. It identifies completely the next hop and a mask the bytes of Middleweight of the next hop. Sort of, it seems that they might be the same. But if they were the same, I don't understand why they both make their appearance in the config. Can provide you details?

    This static route implies that there is another network (10.2.0/24) connected through the LAN. But there is no other reference to it and especially not for this translation. So I wonder how it works?

    In this pair of static routes, the second route is a specific subnet more and would be included in the first and routes for the next of the same break. So I wonder why they are there are. There is not necessarily a problem, but is perhaps something that could be cleaned up.

  • Support stand not provided my replacement WRT-ngn350 - need help with Cisco contact

    I'm starting to feel like Michael Douglas in the movie Falling Down and need help.

    History:
    Finally, I sent to my bad WRT-ngn350 router and when I got the replacement of all but the plastic leg support has been included. I want to have my router stand up to save desktop space, but now I have no foot.

    "OK, should not be difficult to get Linksys to send me the missing foot stand" was my thought. Now, I called the online RMA and also emailed them and I get a similar response as Michael Douglas took with a smile

    I hear that I can't get the part because it is not on the list the content of the product. As this is * my * problem. I want the part and do not care if it's on a list or not. It is the part on the router in the image. I even asked the representative of Linksys to Google a little bit WRT-ngn350 and there are foot stands on almost all of the images and it is certainly included in the box. I was told that I could go nowhere elsewhere to help with that. I really some doubt but fail to find a channel of Linksys, which may be able to help.

    If some representative of Linksys sees this please help me!

    I had my WAP54G for about six months... works very well, but I accidentally pressed the CISCO while wiping clean logo and now it does not work! I tried to reset and nothing not past, .the installation disk keep saying that a wireless access point is not found... and modem/router from my phir no longer sees the WAP54G connection.

    Now what?

    I agree with Fredz... As reset you the router, now you must re - configure WAP from scratch. Try the link provided by Fredz and you will be able to configure your Access Point.

  • Help: Customer Cisco VPN & Split Tunnel but not Internet

    Hi Forum.

    We are faced with this problem: after having successfully open a VPN connection with the Cisco VPN Client to a router Cisco, the rest of the world are not properly available more.

    This is what has been verified / so far attempted to identify the problem on a Windows Vista computer:

    -Router: Split Tunneling is allowed according to sysop

    -On the VPN-Client: "allow Local Lan access" is checked

    -On the Client (statistics): only STI VPN-rout configured listed unter "guarantee routes." "Local Lan routes" is empty.

    -Calling 'http://www.google.com' in IE fails

    -Call ' 74.125.232.116' (IE IP) IE works / ping the IP works.

    -nslookup properly lists the current DNS server

    -nslookup www.google.com resolves correctly the name of intellectual property

    It seems that it is not that the connection with the rest of the Internet is deleted, but DNS resolution fails somehow, even though all signs point to the appropriate DNS server is in force and although the command line can resolve the name.

    does anyone have a tip how to debug this correctly?

    I have the Starter Pack of VCS Cisco implemented in my office with double network interface but I'm using only a single port network and his teeth to one ip address public static address and endpoint of c60 who is regesterd for vcs I have, and I can access my VCS on the internet via the public ip or domain in any case FULL name address I have a cisco MOVI installed in my house, I have followed cisco vcs starter pack deployment guide and I managed on the basis of rigester my movi of VCS, but when I try to call C60 endpoint I see the call is connected, but I get no audio and video.

    Please note that I am not an expert here, is there any other configuration as CLI commands that must be there please advise I only followed the Deployment Guide

    Commissioning doesn't have an internal external model like you would with TMS.

    You must therefore also a split DNS if you do not use both interfaces with commissioning.

    But when you deploy it appropriate also a model with the external ip address (with or without NAT, but always

    to connect to the external ip address) and the second interface on the network internal.

    I just use the public IP directly on the first interface and connect with all customers to the public ip address.

    (If your router supports to connect to IP using NAT outside that should also work).

    Please remember useful frequency responses and identify useful or correct answers.

    What you are looking for is not available using interface show orders but would be available using the show log command. You want something that could look like this

    view Journal | include 1/0/23:0

    Note that this is the search through the buffer of logging on the router. The amount of memory allocated to the record buffer and the volume of messages generated will determine how far back you can go. If the router sends syslog messages to a syslog server (or another feature of management that archive messages) then you can search the logs it and to go further back. Also note that the logging buffer is cleared when the router reloads.

    I needed to download the latest firmware for E3000 router wireless.  I started on Friday evening, went to the E3000 support page, then to the download section.  Here you will enter your version.  But to my page that I had, he would not allow me to enter anything.  I made this Saturday several times and Sunday several times but get the same results.  To see if the E3000 page was bad, I tried the WRT610 (my old router) download page and got the same thing not allowing me to enter anything.  I'm doing something wrong or is there a problem with the help of Cisco?  Can anyone give me any help would be appreciated.

    I went to another computer in the House and was able to download the latest firmware without any problems.  It tells me that I have some kind of problem with my main computer.

  • Need help to set up voice VLAN in SG300

    Hello

    I spent too much time on it now and need help. I'm trying to set up a voice switch VLAN on a SG300 - 28 p. I need to charge a phone Cisco 7965 connected to a port on SG300 - 28 p to use VLAN 100, and a workstation connected to the phone to use Cisco 7965 on VLAN 101 by SG300 - 28 p. In the common Cisco IOS switches, this task is configured as follows:

    interface gi25

    switchport mode access

    switchport access vlan 101

    switchport voice vlan 100

    Trying to achieve this scenario with a Cisco SG300 switch turns into a nightmare. You will have to deal with a Dynamic of VLAN voice Auto Voice VLAN mode. Then, you must have a configured trigger and activated Automatic Smartport . I tried to do this in CLI nothing helps. Cisco 7965 receives an IP address of the access VLAN on Gi15 interface, which is 101 VLAN. I need to receive an address IP of the VLAN 100.

    The current configuration under Gi15 interface is as follows:

    interface gigabitethernet15

    activate the storm control

    broadcast storm control level kbit/s 10

    Storm-control include multicast

    port security throw trap 60

    maximum port security by 10 points

    port security mode max-addresses

    Now, I don't know how the macro auto smartport dynamic_type unknown $native_vlan 101 $voice_vlan 100 command in the config, and I do not know how to remove it.

    When I try to enter the command macro auto smartport type ip_phone_desktop under Gi15 interface, I get the following error message:

    The $voice_vlan macro setting is not configurable by the user

    It seems that the auto attendant smartport macro ip_phone_desktop can not apply the setting $voice_vlan with a value of 100. In fact, I explicitly does not use this parameter to everything in the order of macro auto smartport type ip_phone_desktop ; However, the SG300 switch knows that the voice VLAN VLAN 100, and he's trying to use this VLAN ID as the value of the $voice_vlan parameter, the macro fails.

    I tried statically configure the voice VLAN on the switch SG300 using the command id of the vlan 100 voice , but I couldn't get the ip_phone_desktop macro to configure interface Gi15 correctly. Then, I removed the command id of the vlan 100 voice and obtained SG300 to learn his voice VLAN ID of UC560 connected to the SG300 through a trunk port based on the port configuration (connected to SG300) for the trunk of the next UC560:

    switchport voice vlan 100

    Cisco-switch macro description

    This is the command switchport voice vlan 100 who announces to SG300 via CDP VLAN 100 is a voice VLAN. When I run the command show vlan local VoIP on the SG300, I get the following result:

    Thus, it is clear that the SG300 receives information from UC560 via CDP in port Gi28 VLAN 100 is the voice VLAN. However, I can not always apply the ip_phone_desktop macro to SG300 Gi15 interface.

    Also, I tried to set up vState ofoithis vlan auto-déclenché as well as the commands in global configuration State vlan automatic voice activated mode. Or setting changes anything view voice VLAN announced at Cisco 7965 where Cisco 7965 continues to use VLAN101 (access the VLAN assigned to the interface Gi15).

    The Macro just get in the way most of the time. A default state on the switch a user will set the id of the vlan voice with orders

    * This will create the vlan 100

    State of vlan (config) enabled automatic #voice

    (config-if-range) #switchport trunk vlan 101 native

    trunk (config-if-range) #switchport allowed vlan add 100

    * This function will define the vlan native on the trunk to 101 for the data port and vlan tagged will be 101 for the voice.

    CDP is enabled automatically and should learn the features of the phone and get on the phone to the vlan 101 on this port.

    CDP of the UC should automatically fill in the switch of the SG. You may need to upgrade the switch to the latest firmware however. Also make sure that the DHCP server for the voice if the CPU must be configured accordingly.

  • ceiling of 75 Mbps Wireless-N

    I have a laptop dv6-3040us with Atheros AR9285 wireless LAN.  I can connect to my Linksys E1000 using Wireless N, but caps out at 75 Mbps speed. At first, I thought it was the router since my dv6 connected to a Netgear wndr3700 at 300 Mbps.

    An hour with the help of Cisco, however, could not solve the problem.  They suggested that upgraded the Atheros driver on the laptop.  After I did, I could only connected wireless G!  So I rolled back the driver.  I then tried a router D - Link DIR - 665 Xtreme, and speeds were also capped at 75 Mbps.  In both cases, I put the laptop in 4 feet of the router (5 bars of signal strength).

    My wireless desktop computer doesn't have the same problem.  It can connect to over 100 for the Linksys E1000 Mbps, even if it is further away.

    I was also careful to only use the WPA2 encryption based on some previous posts.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Is this a driver problem?  Why it limits on 2 N Wireless routers, but not the Netgear?  Thanks in advance.

    Atheros AR9285 work with N - 2.4 GHz only supports a single stream of data... If the max you out of this 150 Mbps Wireless card...

    Now to achieve 150 Mbps, you need to set the linksys E1000 or any router 'Automatic Mode '...
