Help with recovery disks CTO T500 2081

I'm creating this thread as Agotthelf adivced, one of the Mods here...

I am a happy owner of Thinkpad T500, I bought my T500 2081 U.S. CTO last Christmas.

I received the same on January 2010, and I had created recovery disks using Lenovo tool, IE the average start and support of information... As I created the recovery disks that I deleted the recovery partition (drive Q).

Due to several errors and problems that crept in, I tried to put laptop my setting factory using recovery discs...

But the recovery media seems to not work as expected. The average startup doesn't give an option of factory restore, it provides only two Win7 recovery option, that is to say

There is another thing that you could do that provide the Windows key is always visible on your COA sticker.  Since it was a multi-configurable system you should know it was professional, Home Premium or ultimate edition. Please be aware that what I propose will not contain the goodies HP provided with recovery disks, you will need to reinstall all your programs and data.

Go to this site and download the version of Windows 7 ISO which matches what you had initially and have your key ready.

  • Satellite P200-RT2 - need help with recovery

I made a Boo-Boo and need advice/help to get things fixed.

My husband has a Satellite P200-RT2 running Win XP 32 bit (included with Vista, but had been upgraded). The battery needs to be replaced, does not load and he made the mistake to disconnect while it was closing, but had not closed completely. Laptop computer would not start even in Safe Mode.

So, I thought to try to insert a disc Win XP Pro thought, he would work to restart the computer and start again. No, he took over and completely restructured the laptop. If great, now have Win XP Pro on it, but can not load all Toshiba drivers that I downloaded from the Toshiba site.

I was not in a position to know if there is a specific order to load the drivers... have been reading and wonder if the BIOS should be the first?

Needless to say that the Toshiba recovery software went on the P200-RT2, I can't find a separate drive that supposedly it contains, there are only two listed drives, drive C and D (for DVDs).

Toshiba tells me that Microsoft sells the recovery software, MS told me that Toshiba sells. There are sites online that have the recovery disc for Vista I could buy or download, but I'm not sure on those that are reliable/safe.

Have to mention that I have a Toshiba laptop latest (L675 - 40 X, Win 7) and have the recovery disc for it.

Is it possible to use these recovery disks for Toshiba software loaded on the old P200-RT2?

    I need help.

I currently own a Satellite A200 and I contain the recovery disc. I have 2 hard drives, 1 with vista, 1 with all the stuff not install as a music. I want to formatt the discs with the recovery disk. I formatted the C drive with vista before, but I don't remember how once again.

  • Problem Win7 HPE-150ff recovery with recovery disks

Hi - I have a desktop HP HPE-150ff under Windows & Home Premium computer which had the HARD drive go bad.  Original is a 1 to Seagate - I bought a 2 TB Seagate ST2000101, 6 Gb/s, 7200 RPM HARD drive to replace it.  I removed the old drive and connected the new drive and started the recovery using recovery disks that I made when the PC was new.  Like others here, things seemed to be going well until he completed the download and tried to restart.  Next, I get the dreaded "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer hardware.

After doing some checking, I have changed the setting to the Bios SATA to AHCI and also tried IDE.  just returned to the same installation point and is suspended.

I saw the reference to download updated Intel drivers, but I don't see a place in recovery to install.

What is the latest thinking on the best way to get this to recover?  I was thinking of doing a new 1 TB drive, but what I've read, the 2 TB should work correctly.

Any help is appreciated.  Thank you!

    Hello:

BIOS AHCI and just for fun, let's see if you make your own regular install of W7 disc works.

Use the product key on the PC to enter and do not activate.  Just to see if you do not get this error.

Here's what you need to do.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

    http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/14709-Windows-7-Digital-River-direct-links-multiple-languag...

If it works, I live just with that because I have no idea why do not have the recovery disks.

You have only the mouse, the keyboard and the monitor connected to the PC during the recovery, correct?

You are right, because a 2 TB HDD in your relatively modern PC should work very probably.

  • Need help with the disks 'unreadable' configuring software raid after the death of the startup disk and system restored.

I'm looking for some advice on how to restore a windows xp installation software raid 5 that was running on my XP system. I had a problem when the startup disk has failed, but I was able to backup the system before it can. I replaced the drive and restored the system and everything came, but I was not smart to do this and accidently left the readers connected when restoring raid. I don't know if windows has done something when I tried to install XP on the new drive, or maybe something else has happened when I restored the system from the backup, but my raid drives can not be used. There was a moment in the restaurant business I saw a message on the MBR, but I thought that was just for the drive being restored. I didn't have a single player who held any information on the other disks in the system, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

When the system boots the windows logo screen takes 10-20 minutes before you get on the desktop. Windows Disk Manager takes 20-30 minutes to fill the list of drives and status on the disks three raid is 'dynamic' and 'unreadable' is not reassuring. I suspect it's a problem MBR or partition table that must be corrected before trying to reactive the raid, but this is just speculation.

The raid drives are on a promise ide/scsi disk and make it appear to start correctly with names and sizes. After that I get nothing. I do not have another scsi controller (or), but I thought I'd try active @ partition recovery to see if she can find information on the disks.

I hope someone has some experience with recovery like this, because this is a first for me. I thought I was pretty sure running a raid-5, but wouldn't you know, the tech gods have found a way to crush my plans...

Thanks in advance for any help!

I have recived a message error (error bios 501) was one that says windows could not start at this point I did a system restore, it worked then it instaled updates and when I turned it off it seamed ok a few days elapsed before I go back and it didn't start so I tried to do the same restore point who had worked but im guess I chose the one bad because after that I could get in the bios for the test command and start system and info windows recovery tool not forbear even so I am really crazy and just ordered the HP recovery disks have tried a couple of times he says it didn't I saved a copy of the details , but I don't know how to open it so I can copy and past I also tried putting it in a windows disk because I realized that one problem I had is a new hard drive my boyfriend out the HDD without asking and wiped it and put it in his laptop, my friend was helping me with the laptop, but cannot stop now can someone please help

Assume your drive recovery is ongoing demand... because the 501 error has not might be related to your operating system... or the hard drive...

Maybe think I didn't read clearly on your description, but it seems that you already have recovery files broken, or the HARD drive is on form, no? Suggest that you call service help find someone help on data recovery. If the HARD drive has already been fomatted, it will take a few HARD drive recovery professional technician to do this action, using special equipment or tools. Sometimes it can get the restored data sometimes it breaks down, according to the State of the HARD drive. If he's already got formatt low level, it would be very unlikely to recover data... Then... you'd call better help service. Hope you can recover data.

If you have already saved data I just re - install the operating system. It is easier. Alternatively, you can call the service provide the recovery disc number (printed on the label on the disc) see it's the right disc for your device. And try to use the right disc for re-installing.

I have a 5380qd All in One Omni 200 old 2 years with windows 7 home premium, I7 CPU 2.9 ghz, 8 GB of RAM. The problem started when I noticed that my fan was all the time. So, I cleaned the vents and such fan indicated in the How To section. This has not solved the problem. Soon there after, I received a form of high utilization of the processor Norton error. I opened the task manager a saw that my cpu was fortification to 100% every 10 seconds or more. The next day, I turned on my computer with a blue screen which introduced this error: 0xe0ef000

From there I put my repair disc then shut down the computer then restarted and to perform diagnostics and noticed that he was trying to repair my D: drive which is my recovery partition. Therefore, I have concluded that the POST works very well and all the activities before are very well until the operating system loads. I then used the comand of msconfig to disable all the services initially upwards and always had the 100% cpu problem. Then ran the provided AV startup disk from the MS site and found no virus. Also ran my Norton who has not found a virus. So I decided I would make a recovery of the system with 3 recovery disks. Hello

Assuming that it's just a problem with the recovery media, here's another solution, you can try.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation of Windows 7 retail disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( that must be the same version of Windows that was originally supplied with your PC ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

  • Need help with replacement disk on port 0 in Raid1 desktop machine

I have a HPE 380 t. I have has a RAID1 (mirror) with 2-500 GB Western Digital. When I boot it says the raid has deteriorated and an error has occurred on the player connected to port 0, port 1 player shows ok. It's in the Manager of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager, (Ctrl + I on startup). The machine starts again, but I want to replace the drive on Port 0 with another disk of 500 GB.

How can I go on that so I don't toast all data on the drive Port1?

I searched links and other places for help on this but nothing helps! Is there a tutorial or step by step instructions somewhere that I can go?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Mike,.

Lucky for you that you are using non-RAID 0 and RAID 1 or your table would probably unusable.

You can determine the status of your RAID configuration using the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) software.  If you do not have this software on your PC, then you can Download IRST from the Intel web site.  I recommend that you use the latest version available from Intel.  General information can be obtained from the TSRI User Guide.  When you launch TSRI, help topics are an excellent source of information.  You can access TSRI by going to the control panel and select Intel Rapid Storage Technology. You can also access TSRI from low location of the taskbar.  TSRI should resemble a hard disk icon and it normally has a green check mark.  By default, TSRI is defined as delayed start, so don't expect to see active immediately.

    1. Launch the IRST while under Windows
    2. Click Help
    3. Click on troubleshooting
    4. Click on gradient volumes and follow the recommendations. Scroll to RAID 1.

    Hello

1 hard drive error message you see when you start the laptop would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the problem to start your recovery disks.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.
