  So to answer the question quite simply, there is no additional benefit using mini GBIC (SFP) compared to a CAT6 cable to connect the switches in a stack.  Copper fittings or fiberglass can be synced to 1000 Mb/s.

  The only advantage of the use of mini-GBIC SFP or; s if the connection between the switches are more than 100 meters, or 328 feet.

  But I'm more happy to connect switches with CAT6 cables for cumulation purposes, is it more cost-effective.

  I have a Satellite P10 722. It seems to be ready wireless (it has an LED to show the WLAN activity). I would use an internal Mini-PCI card in it. Ideally, it would be a b/g card.

  Anyone know what model/part number Mini-PCI card will work with this laptop.

  Sorry, but this kind of information can give you just the authorized service partner. I don't know if the P10 722 is ready WLAN but you can check only. In the lower corner of the unit, you will find WiFi coverage. Remove it carefully and check if there are two antenna WLAN (black and white) cables. If so, the device is definitely ready WLAN.

  Contact the Service partner and ask them for you to adapt to your model of laptop. As far as I know, the consultation is free.

  I'll buy two switches Cisco SG200 - 26 with a TRANSCEIVER MGBSX1 for each and connect with each other via fibers.  Am I right to assume that the fiber port is configurable for VLAN?  So if I set up four VLANS (1-4 on two switches, port 1 in VLAN1, VLAN2 2 port, etc.), I can configure the fiber port to be on all four VLANS so that traffic for all four VLAN moves between the two switches?

  I guess that some terms with youir question might be a bit confused with the people.

  Are you talking about the SR224G, who's a switch of end of life with p/n SR224G;  or are you referring to the model more recent switch refreshed the p/n SR224GT-NA ?

  That p/n 30-1301-02 is not a GBIC but a mini GBIC or SFP.  It is actually better recognized by most people as a Ref. Cisco GLC-SX-MM.

  The old and the new version of the switch should work with the following SFP

  SFP transceivers or mini GBIC
  MGBLH1	Transceiver Gigabit Ethernet LH mini-GBIC SFP, for distances up to 500 m or 40 km
  MGBSX1	Transceiver Gigabit Ethernet SX mini-GBIC SFP, for distances up to 220 or 550 m
  MGBLX1	Transceiver SFP 1000Base-LX, for the single mode fiber, wavelength of 1310 nm, for distances up to 10 km

  But I cannot say that the SR224G or SR224GT-NA have been tested and validated with the GLC-SX-MM (30 - 1301-02).  It probably works like switches usually work with any base 1000 FPS.
