  • Need help with internet access on a Linksys E1200 strategy

Hi, I have an a Linksys E1200 (Firmware Version: 2.0.01), and September 13, 2012, I configured the Internet access policy to deny access to internet for 4 devices between the hours of 22:00 and 08:00 on the evening of the school.)  It was working fine! I was very pleased.

Over the last weekend, the electricity was launched for a second, the power was back on in 2-3 seconds if. The router comes back online, and everything seemed in excellent working condition. Then Sunday evening (considered to be a night of school in our House) at 22:00 the router did not refuse Internet 4 devices as it normally did. I logged into the control panel admin via a browser web, and checked access to internet strategies, I configured last week was still configuration property.

Everything was always configuration property to deny access to the internet for 4 devices Sunday night/Monday morning between 08:00 and 22:00. I checked that the router has the date and time. But the router is not always deny access as it was setup to do. It worked fine before the weekend, and then after the weekend it stopped working the property. The only thing I can think of this month of may of the cause is 2-3 seconds, the power went out then came back on. The router is connected through a surge protection.

Then I set up the Internt access policy week last to deny access to 4 devices on the night of the school between 22:00 and 08:00. I waited 24 hours to make sure it worked, after that it worked, I got the router send me a backup of the config file. I tried to use it to solve this problem, but it did not help either.

This is a screenshot of what looks like my Internet access policy. I had to create 2 policies because the router has refused to create a policy where the end time was not later than the start time. Anywho, so political #1 is from 22:00 to 11:55, and policy #2 is from 12: 00 to 08:00. This Internet access policy is configured to deny access to 4 devices between midnight and 08:00 Monday morning. It was working fine last week, so I'm 100% positive that it is the router.

The following screenshot is the status information to show the date and time of the router is correct.

So the router was Monday morning @ 03:00, the router has an active policy of internet access to deny the device access to the internet, the router had recently worked flawlessly to do this, but for some reason any, that he could not do this morning?

Can you please explain it to me or provide me with free software to "lock" the internet for specified devices. I really want to have to stay until 22:00 5 nights a week, so I can help my daughter sneaking online when she should be in bed. taking his phone and the laptop is not an option.

Thanks for reading, forward a reply as soon as possible.

    ~ Tony

Hello. I think that Yes, too, that it is a router problem. Just to isolate it, try to update the firmware and then reset and reconfigure the router again and use the same policies that have worked before. On Cisco's Web site, the latest firmware for version 2 is 2.0.04. You can download it here http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/E1200. You can use the links below in the public KB site of Cisco.

  • Combining a WD N900 router and a Linksys E1200

Hello, I'm looking to expand my network. I bought a WD N900 router to replace my old Linksys E1200 (sorry linksys, not enough routher ports ).

The internet connection comes from the modem in router N900 of WD. The WD N900 has the printer hooked to it and 3 NAS, a computer, and our magic jack. I ran 30 feet of cable network and routed the cable through the walls in the home section. I want to use my old Linksys E1200 to extend my network. I want to connect consoles (PS3, XBOX360) as well as the receiver of entertainment to my Linksys router.

What is the best configuration? I'm looking to be able to access the NAS of WD N900 on our PS3 and Xbox360 for LAN - LAN looks like go. I tried to use the instructions on the Linksys website, but it doesn't seem to work. I have test the cable network, I ran across the walls, and it is a good signal. However when I plug the Linksys E1200 and connect my lap top Linksys E1200 to test it does not work.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Derek

We must look on your router for hardware version. It is probably below.

So when you tried LAN to LAN cascading, you disable the dhcp server on E1200?

In any case... try the bridge mode if your firmware on the router supports bridge mode.

  • Reserve an IP address on a router from Linksys E1200

Hi, I'm putting our Outback Mate 3 controller with a fixed ip address and the port forwarding on a router Linksys E1200.  So we can check on our wide network remotely.  I put in the DHCP reservation page and enter the ip address and mac address but when I go to save, it shows the hexadecimal value is incorrect.  Configuration of the IP address on the 3 Mate, it can only 192.168.001.xxx and reserving the address on the Linksys, it only allows reserve 192.168.1.xxx.  These are not values?  Any advice?

Yes, they are the same. If it shows the hexadecimal value then most likely there to talk about the address.which of mac is in hexadecimal. Make sure the format matches and no additional spaces etc.

  • Linksys E1200 with Verizon Fios Actiontec

Hello. I bought the E1200 Linksys because it is Wireless N and the guest account. Please help me configure my new router Linksys E1200 to use for Wireless N instead of my Verizon Fios provided Actiontec (model place M4124-WR), which is only G wireless, and so that I can use the guest account. I have an ethernet cable from one of the 4 ethernet ports on the E1200 to one of the 4 ports LAN on the Actiontec. I have the wireless off on the Actiontec and have the E1200 defined as 192.168.1.200.

My Wireless N signal seems to work very well in the E1200 and I managed to activate the account invited on the E1200 and 'connect' on my iPhone 4, but then when I open Safari I can't connect to the internet.

Thanks for trying to help, but I had worked after a phone call with a cisco/linksys support person. I had to make the following changes:

The default gateway on Linksys E1200 after a hard reset is 192.168.1.1... I had to change the default gateway on Linksys E1200 to 192.168.5.1

Connected to port LAN 1 of the Actiontec to the Internet on the Linksys E1200 port.

Connected to the computer to port LAN 1 Linksys E1200.

Off the Linksys E1200 and the modem (Actiontec) for 30 seconds. Then, back on the Actiontec until what the internet light turned on, and then turned back on Linksys E1200.

Made sure that the wireless security page has been set to WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode because apparently the acct comments not use WPA WPA2.

  • my laptop has completed the automatic update of vista and after that I can't access wireless router with an ethernet cable only

My sony vaio laptop running windows vista has completed an automatic update and after that, I can't connect to my wireless network, I can access the internet with an ethernet cable.

It worked perfectly fine before the update, I know that there is a problem with what I had the same problem in the past. The way it's been solved previously was to restore the laptop to an earlier point before the end of the update. Unfortunately I can't do that and the laptop has been completed, wiped and there is no backup where I can go to restore.

I know I can remove some updates but don't know what 1, me it is another way to solve the problem.

Your help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Nadzarif,

You can try the following steps and check if it helps:

    Method 1:

Because the wireless stopped working after windows update, you can check the Sony support link and try to install the latest version of the drivers for the wireless card and check if it helps:

    Sony support

For more information, see the article:

    Update drivers: recommended links

    Method 2:

Updated version has a problem in the history of the update.

    Step 1:

You can check in the history of the update for the updates that are installed recently or before the show.

    a. open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.

    (b) in the left pane, click view update history.

    c. to display more information about an update, double-click it.

See the Windows updates are installed

    Step 2:

Uninstall recently installed updates and install the updates one at a time to understand what update is the cause of the problem.

  • Linksys E1200 disconnects a computer all in game.

Heya. I had a problem with my E1200, we bought yesterday to replace an old belkin wireless-G, we thought was the culprit of our questions.

Recently, we moved to a House to an apartment. In our old House, we had no problem of internet connectivity at all. We used a wireless router (not sure what kind) and had a great connection for streaming and playing video games as League of Legends. The router has belonged to a roommate, however, so we had to use an old one that we had in stock when we moved into our new place.

The wireless G router was unreliable and had to be reset constantly, as the internet was often slow or disconnected. We picked up a new router yesterday, Linksys, and I set up the wireless network. Our internet seems to work very well, a speed test, that we ran with speedtest.net was beautiful. But we will still have a weird question.

When my boyfriend play LoL, it's always get lag and connectivity problems. Everything in his computer is the same as it was in our old House, when we had no problem, and this problem started when we arrived on a new network. The weird part is, when it is unplugged, my internet is still very good.

The router is in the same room that the computer, with no cross road of walls. It is set up next to the modem and is behind the TV. We have not all wireless phones and the microwave oven is in another room. I tried to clear up the wireless by activating the router to another channel (channel 2 which has 2 other users, rather than channel 11, which has 9 other users). It has improved our speed, but he's always disconnect when it is in a game.

We have only 3 devices running off of the router: my laptop, my PC and the PC. We aren't torrenting or anything streaming when this problem occurs. I can't reduce the problem. Anyone know what can possibly be emphasizing the connection?

    Thanks for your time.

Others will be overlap 1,6 and 11.  As I said, try some other channels to see what may work for you.

  • With E1200 slow download speeds

I have an E1200 that will work very well for a while, then suddenly the download speed for all wireless devices will be reduced to between 20-30 KB/s.  It happened last night when we were watching videos on Hulu.  We were explosive along the end, when all of a sudden the connection was pretty awful that it had to stop watching.  We have no idea of what has changed – there is only two of us in the House and we were both passively watch Hulu.

It's already happened, and generally change something like the wireless channel fixed it, but not this time.

The computers that we have connected to the router via Ethernet gets stuck between 1 to 3 MB/s, so I know that's not the modem or the access provider.

The intensity of the signal is good (4-5 bars).  I tried to reposition the router and the wireless receiver, but that did not help.

I have the latest firmware for the router, as far as I know (v2.0.02).

I tried all channels available (including the ' Auto').  I tried to change the width of the channel between Auto and 40 MHz.  I tried to reset the router to factory settings and re - download my configuraiton.  I tried to set QoS.

    Any other ideas?

Hmmm I have a router E4200 and had the same problem. But when I disabled it Support WMM and I was able to make it work properly.

  • I forgot the password for Linksys E1200

I tried following the instructions of Cisco to reset my password but I still can't access the router.  What can I do?

during the E1200 RESET button located on the bottom of the unit. It's a tiny hole and you will need a paper clip to press the button with. Hold the button for 5 to 10 seconds. the Cisco go flashing, indicating that the device is restarted. No power NOT turn off the router. wait until you get the Cisco solid fire instead. the router should be ready for the installer from there!

  • Linksys E1200 Compatible with OSX 10.9.4 v2?

I've been a PC user all through, and today we opened the present family - a new iMac. I'm trying to set it up today, including being able to administer the wireless router.  I bought the router in January 2014, on the back it says it's model E1200 v2.  However, today, I tried to download the Cisco Connect software (for version 2), the message was that the V2 software, I downloaded was compatible with: MAC OS X 10.5.8 or later, MAC OS X 10.6.1 or later or MAC OS X 10.7 or higher.

In the list of the "minimum requirements of OS' with a lower number (10.5.x, 10.6.x, 10.7.x), if she mentions not even Mac OS 10.9.x, it means he would be ever compatible?  Alternatively, as 10.9.x is a number larger than the other, this means that it exceeds the minimum requirements and I should be fine?

My friends at Apple told me that my new wireless router work with my new iMac. Less than 2 hours in this new computer, certainly I'm fumbling my way around the iMac, so I assume I'm doing something wrong.  I'm not speaking the language of Mac OS, so I'm not entirely sure that I correctly interpret this message (or by downloading the necessary software).

I need a new router if I want to admister this iMac?  Or I'm just downloading the wrong thing?

    Thank you.

You should be able to configure the router using a web browser such as Safari or FF or Mac and connect to the web page of routers to 192.168.1.1...

  • Linksys E3000 - connectivity - can't access Admin setup, etc.

I had some connectivity issues. I have Cox and a cable modem connected to an E3000 wireless router. Both wireless and direct connections are normally working on my Windows XP computer.

This morning there was no internet connectivityt. I decided to try to access my router admin page. I couldn't get him. I'm positive, I entered the correct DNS number because it works now. I even turned off wireless to make sure she's trying to connect by ethernet b/c admin wireless access is disabled. This is my main question. What possible reason could I login on my admin page. The router is o. It is plugged it. I even restarted and I still couldn't connect to it? I did an ipconfig/release and / renew and which did not.

Ok. So I connect my computer directly to the cable modem. My internet is now. It is still a little buggy, but. (In other words, as soon as I open my browser, my google.com homepage says the same thing... without connecttivity. Ok. So, I'm trying to update... It says the same thing. Ok. Then I try another link. It works now. I try google again. It works now. I repeat again and again close and reopen my browser and it's like he's not only the first page you are trying to open.)

But, I digress. It's the router. So I set about how it was - Internet through the router to the computer. Now, magically, it works, and I can access the Web page and admin?

So, why couldn't access my router page before. Cox is this coming Tuesday? Does this sound like something is wrong on their end or is it the router.

Router about a basic configuration, but I don't change the IP start and the range of IP addresses to include only 6 possible connections.

Yes. I tried everything but now the buttong reset for 30 seconds. Instead, I just unplugged. Nevertheless, there is STILL NO REASON I wouldn't be able to connect to my router a minute and the next minute I can? And the only thing that changes is that I disconnected 1 Ethernet and then plugged it back it later. Unless it was a bad connection or a cable, but I checked that already.

    Forgotten. No help here.

  • Port Linksys e1200 Internet does not.

I have my router e1200 plugged into my ethernet connection going into the internet port on my router. I can't get internet connection so that on both my wired and wireless clients. When I plug the internet connection directly into one of the ethernet ports, customers don't you address private but share a public address among all hosts. Can someone help me?

The router must be defective because it is a very simple configuration.

ISP modem => E1200 (Internet Port) (Lan Port)-online PC

Unless you have an ADSL PPPoe connection that must be configured in the router.

Have you tried another Ethernet cable to connect the WAN E1200 to the ISP Modem?

  • Linksys EA6400 slow speeds

    Hello

I have a Linksys EA6400, and lately I've been making autour 13Mbps via my router speeds. Just as I was going to guess it was my ISP and to call them, I decided to connect my pc directly to the modem. When I connect directly to my modem I got speeds around 65Mbps.

Having found that the ISP was not at fault, I press reset on the back of the router, re-tested the speed and got nothing else. So I power cycling it, same speed. Today, I was going to be gone all day so I unplugged the router to see if a long shutdown would help, but after 12 hours to be disconnected, still nothing. Until 2 weeks ago, he works very well with no hicups.

Can anyone offer any help to solve this problem? New firmware? I can't find a link to the firmware update anywhere in the configuration of the router to try it...

Thank you to anyone who is able to offer their help.

    The firmware update:

    http://downloads.Linksys.com/downloads/firmware/FW_EA6400_1.1.40.160989_prod.img

Reset to factory settings after the firmware upgrade.

    If no improvement:

    Try:

    • Connectivity-online Administration-Online cutting in the middle of transmission => uncheck
    • If IPv6 is not required by your ISP; => Connectivity-online Internet-online-online Edit IPv6 settings uncheck enable
    • Prioritization of media => Enable-Online Check
    • Prioritization of media-online settings and apply just downstream and if available upstream values; Initially to keep all devices and applications priority normal
    • If you have problems with throughput in Wifi try support WMM disabled; If no difference is noticed reactivate WMM
  • [Linksys e1200] Is there a way to change the IP TTL packets

    Hello

My internet provider has TTL = 1, so I can not use router here.

Is there a way to get around this?

    Thank you

You can't do anything except maybe to install 3rd party firmware and try to mess even more with your IP packets. Would not recommend that.

And I don't mean just talking with them. I guess the reason for them to do that is to prevent exactly what you're trying to do: install your own router.

So check with their policies first and if they do not allow you to install your own router do not start arguing...
