Highlight string and boolean set on front panel

I feel like this should be very simple, and I did a lot of research and can't find an answer

In my program I get channels and see if they are active or not. If they are active, it is a Boolean that turns on.

What I want to do is display with a shared scroll bar to quickly view and edit the.

The only solution I have to this problem is to carefully match the size of string of Boolean size frontage and tell then the façade that if Scrolls one side then the other on should do the same (with a slight delay). Get the Boolean and string to coincide perfectly is very tedious.

Is there an easier way to do this?

  • A way to group controls and indicators on the Front Panel and that they can be made Visible or not as a group?

I would like to combine several orders and LEDs on the front panel in a group in a way that allows me to do the whole group Visible or not.

I tried to use a Cluster, but it has a side effect that all elements must be inside the controls or indicators, but not mixed.

Is there any graphic element, like a panel that can contain other controls and indicators on the inside and make them Visible or not as a group regardless of whether they are commands or the LEDs?

Good suggestions on how to do this?

    Thank you.

The tab control is still not my favorite, appearance but it's a way fast and effective to show and hide groups of controls and indicators.

  • Locking of Boolean controls on front panel - suggestions

I have a Structure of the event within a while loop. Inside of any of the events, I have a Subvi, which acquires data from a card for the acquisition of data and displays it on a graph on the Panel before (update of reference). I want to give the user the possibility to stop the acquisition when it runs, but my attempts do not work 100% of the time.

I have a dedicated Boolean (when you press the switch) with a reference connected to the Subvi.

Before that the Subvi is running, the Boolean value = False, Disabled = 0.

Once executed, the Subvi Boolean value = False, Disabled = 2.

in all other cases and on the initialization of the sewttings program are:

    Value = False, Disabled = 2.

When the Subvi is running, the button is enabled, (it's the only one who is active), but I can't rely on it. The code is too big to attach it.

Ideas please, currently program thr stopped only after the acquisition of a certain durartion.

    Hello

Right-click on the Boolean event and select Edit the events managed by this case, and then at the bottom of this window, there is an option for this. Thus, you can uncheck it and it should work fine.

  • How to create a GUI and reuse on a front panel

I have an app that will define data several times (15 times). The same data options are available (repeated) but it's a simple screen that shows the same options 15 different circumstances.

What I want to do is to create a Panel (void / vi, or.) CTL or what is the best) I can then fill 15 times on the same façade.

That way if I make changes (i.e. move a control etc...) I do it once and not 15 different times.

How is the best way to do it?

    Thank you

Thank you. I tried this morning and I think it will work.

  • Front panel locked, but not due to the structure of the event

    Hi it LV community.

I did a staemachine program that executes an oscilloscope (screenshot of a provided below... the State of the problem). I ran my program yesterday and it worked very well. Then, like a model, a dialog box opens and I just clicked on it in a hurry. now my front hangs as soon as I move the above-mentioned State "the Oscilloscope settings.

As indicated, I have go a repeat loop that collects successive impulses of my oscilloscope and displays on the front panel (it works fine). In parallel, I have a structure of the event that makes the tail for the real-time feedback of changes to parameters that I placed on the façade (exodus of state change).

Here's the problem: as soon as I State 'Oscilloscope Settings' using a Boolean button on the front panel for get me there, the front hangs... No event triggered by this point, and even if it did, I already deselected the "Lock panel until the end of the matter for this event" checkbox in the case where the structure menu.

So WHY is my front lock now? Thoughts anyone?

Read the detailed help for event structures.

He urged that a single event structure serve in a VI. There are moments where more can be used effectively, but caution and a thorough understanding of the structure are needed.

The problem is that you have several structures of the event in the various cases of the state machine and they are set to respond to the same events.

When the button Set Oscilloscope, the structures of the event in the purchase Menu and home screen States receive the event. The two lock the screen, but only one of these cases may work. It can transfer control to the State of the Oscilloscope settings, but the other event responding to this same event structure maintains the locked Panel.

The solution is not not to release any of the event. The default value is usually the best setting. The best solution is to spend on an architecture of producer/consumer (events). Who uses two parallel loops. The producer has the one and the only structure of the event and passes orders to consumer loop through a queue.

Probalby want as the mechanical action on the buttons to lock when you press. Put kiosks inside the respective case of event changed value and local variables becomes unnecessary.

  • Switch Soft Front Panel, active device classified

I have a with PXI chassis modules, two switches PXI-2350.  Using the Soft Front Panel switch, it seems that the names assigned to the list of active device (both 2350's in this case) are backward, what to expect.  Is there a way to reassociate those names to the 2350's physics?

    Thank you

    Confustus,

It's an interesting question that I've never seen before, your devices in a Soft Front Panel should be linked to features like labels in MAX. I was wondering, when you say "we can select using MAX, a road that connects the power supply to the digital multimeter using"Switch 1"(for example), and we can see the voltage reading show on the Soft Front Panel 4071 as planned", what you mean exactly? If you had to choose your hardware device, and then click test panels, the NI Soft Front Panel load switch. Are you saying that when you choose test panels and loading Switch Soft Front Panel of max works as expected, however the application outside opening MAX does not work?

Or are you talking about the Test panels you open in NI Switch Executive? The test for NI Switch Executive panels refer on behalf of virtual device NI Switch Executive, not the DAQmx device name. If you had named the name of the NI Switch Executive virtual device in the same way, that could be part of the confusion of the problems that you see. See the images below:

NEITHER DAQmx Test selection panel that leads upward.

Test NI Switch Executive Panel allows this. If these names are similar, I can see how that might be confusing.

  • How to make non-visible control on the Front Panel appear at Design time?

I have a few controls on the front whose visibility is changed (on or off) at run time. The problem is that if I stop the Run time, the visibility of the control remains in the running in design mode state. So I am not able to see or find the control to make changes in design mode.

How can I make all the visible front-panel controls, or find and make it visible to a control on the front whose visibility has False?

    Thank you.

It is documented in the help of LabVIEW.

    Hidden front panel display

Perform the following steps to display a hidden front control or indicator. You can also hide the indicators and controls on the front panel.

    1. Find the terminal block schema for the object. "If you have multiple devices with the same type of data, right click on the terminals and select visible elements" Label in the context menu. Find the object with the label that corresponds to the object hidden façade.

    2. Right-click in the Terminal, and then select Show Control context menu if the object is a control or indicator to show if the object is an indicator.

You can also use the Visible property to display the controls and indicators by program.

You can also view all hidden front panel controls and indicators.

Path: Fundamentals-> build the façade-> how-to--> configure the objects-> display on front panel of the façade hidden object.

  • Using the 'current default values do' as a control on the front panel

I'm building a VI that uses a lot of digital controls. I want to use "do current default values" as a control Boolean on the front panel for the user.

  • Enter the number of samples to simulate signal vi on front panel

    Hello

I need to change the number of samples in the simulation of signals vi without manually going through properties. Is there a way to change this pattern-block or front panel?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ragmo

Yes. You can convert the Express VI to a normal VI by right clicking on it and selecting Open the front panel and then you can change this vI and change the # of samples of a control constant. You can also use the functions non - Express VI as a base generating function.

  • Front panel FPGA Boolean mechanical action is important to control the actions of a host RT?

When a host RT controls an FPGA VI shipped through Boolean values on the face before of the FPGA VI, no matter what setting the mechanical action is used by the Boolean front panels?  For example, they all just act as "Switch When you press on" or the law "lock when you press on" as one-shots?

Okay, it looks like I have a little bit of clarification to make.

First of all, the patterns of waveform above are correct. As soon as the handshaking signal Host_Write if high, the data is written to the next clock cycle. At this point, "Lock" options are equivalent to eachother, and all the options of 'Switch' are equivalent to the eachother. Each takes 150ns to receive the signal of Host_Write.

The only thing in my post above that is misleading is when I said that transitions occur at the same time. This is not true, as the writing must be serialy, 150ns apart.

In case anyone is interested, I enclose the test and the test bench project. On your host machine, simply generate the files for the simulation construction-spec, then replace the tb_NiFPGASimulationModel.vhd generated by the one I've attached (this is the test bench). This should be at "C:\NIFPGA\simulation\FPGA_Boolean_Mechanical_Action\FPGA_Target\MechanicalActionTest\user". Given that forums don't add .vhd files, please rename the .txt in .vhd.

  • Boolean front panel disconnected from the block diagram

It is very strange behavior I've ever seen elsewhere.

I opened a program that I have used before that works, after the replacement of some dll which is called.  I don't know if it's relevant, but just in case.

In any case, I have a structure of the event in a loop.  Events are to turn certain values of output in a bitmap and update some of the entries.  As you can see in the screenshot of the time-out loop, the values of the input bitmap are fed directly in the Boolean flags.  The problem is that even if the thread is true, the façade is not up-to-date.  Also, when I click on the button stop, the Boolean value on the wire is not up-to-date.  You can see on the screenshot of the probe and the front panel.

At no time have I stopped explicitly updates from the front panel.  Indeed, the status indicator updates correctly.  But he only makes a Subvi.  If you pass a reference to a front panel indicator in a Subvi, it locks the front for some reason any?  I thought for sure, I had done this several times in the past without problem.

I'll post not rather the VI publicly without more deletions.  Just the stuff company owner.  I wouldn't mind sending them to someone OR, however.

    Thanks for any help.

It was apparently a transient state.  I arrived, open LabVIEW and the VI, and everything is fine now.  I don't know what that looks like, I am back and found a few nodes property overwrite values.  I promise you that I will not change anything.  I should have tried this yesterday, but it was the end of my day at that time and I had a place to be.

If you want, bradyAE, you can send me your email address and I'll send you the VI, if you think it is useful to investigate it.  Like I said before, I would rather not post it publicly.

  • How to set the default value for the digital control on front panel?

How to set a default value for a numeric control of LabVIEW 2009 Front Panel? I have several input values that are actually configuration settings I want to settle with the default values of zero. I want them to be the values displayed when the façade first appears until the code is executed.

I really want to use the Minimum and Maximum limits by default for this because I still want to be able to define acceptable limits for values.

I would not be able to specify a default value of zero for these entries?

Enter the desired value, then "right click...... of default data of value to operations. Save the VI.
