Hinges of the screen broke on Satellite L650D-102

Hi all

I work in a computer shop doing repairs and sales. We are big fans of Toshiba laptops and very rarely problems of experience with those we sell. I see, however, that the Satellite L650D-102 seems to have a design defect with regard to the way in which the display is anchored to the bottom of the laptop plastic. I had half a dozen computers laptops that were brought back to the shop with a display of 'loose '.

After disassemble the laptop I noticed that where it screws into the bottom plastics it is really broken since the bottom plastics. I was wondering if this would be covered by warranty Toshiba or if someone else has this problem?

I m wondering really you have noticed this on Satellite L650D-102. General design of laptops and the hinges of the screen in particular should be the same or identical on the series L650/L650D.

As a result of this forum, I guess you're the first person who claims on this subject. In any case, I recommend you contact the closest service Toshiba and pick up some info on this. I hope that the guys at Toshiba will be able to give you all the necessary information.

Return to warranty. If this broken hinges are the result of some defect or Design materials failure I m pretty sure replacement will be covered by the Toshiba warranty. Of course cell must not be already dismantled by an independent service initially. This will void the warranty of Toshiba s.
Only authorized Toshiba service provider is allowed to disassemble the laptop.

    Someone knows a distorted envelope around the power button, mine is triggered a good 1-2 mm.

    If you really think that there is a serious problem I recommend you to contact the nearest authorized service provider. They should take a look and give you advice what to do.

  • Satellite L885-122 - rear left of fixing of the screen broke

    I recently bought a laptop Toshiba L855-122. And it works really well.
    But ive noticed something whenever I try to close the screen, a small part of the connection between the screen and the main laptop stands, ive already tried it rebonding with a screwdriver, but does not seem to solve the problem.     Hi, I bought a new Toshiba Satellite P100-160 of Currys today.

  • A technical problem concerning the replacement of the screen on a Satellite Pro

    The original on my laptop screen is a screen with the following reference: NTL154X3 (made by Samsung). Two weeks ago, that I replaced it with a matte screen with the following PL154W01 (made by LG_Philips).

    The laptop works very well since then, but the screen is roughly half as bright as it should.

    Play with FN + F6 increase brightness and FN + F7 decrease. The F6 and F7 works in reverse order compared to what they use to be after replacing the screen. In addition, I have to press these buttons to change the brightness intensification or step down.

    The first time I push the buttons come from the wheel of the brightness on the screen and the watch moves a bit, but brightness does not change. When I push them again the watch moves again a step upwards (or downwards) and this time the screen illuminate upwards (or downwards).

    The replacement screen is not at fault. I think I need to change the inverter on my laptop because it does not provide enough voltage for the matte screen.
    I searched the web for days, but it is impossible to find a reference for the inverter be used with the matte screen.

    To be honest, I put t know if it s a UPS or problem if you simply used and replaced by a screen is not compatible. Who knows?

    But the fact is that all devices (also the FL inverter) and compatible parts can be ordered from the service provider authorized in your country.
    Guys might order the parts directly from Toshiba.

    Call the technicians and ask a compatible converter for this laptop. In addition, you could ask if you used a good LCD.
