  This could be a hardware problem, but it is always worth trying the following.

  Open windows control panel, open Device Manager, expand keyboards, "Standard PS/2 Keyboard" right click and select uninstall.

  When you are finished, stop the laptop - if you're running Windows 8 or 8.1, do it by holding down the button SHIFT left click Shutdown to temporarily prevent a hybrid boot.

  Then disconnect the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

  Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

• his Pavilion dv7-6b55dx suddenly stopped working

  the sound on my Pavilion dv7-6b55dx has suddenly stopped working. External speakers work not at all and has failed the test tone. The headset works sometimes - for ex: I can play the same youtube video and audio work once and then again not at all.

  HP support system had run the updates from the previous night (I turned off computer later) so I wonder if this could be a problem?

  Go into the Control Panel, programs & features - software uninstall IDT. Reboot the laptop and install using the downloaded file.

Here's my problem: I always use a maxed out Macintosh iBook G3 with Mac OS 9.2.2 for office, internet and games.   I have recently re installed Windows 7 I got Trojan Virus cause serious problems, that has now been eliminated and the computer is fine. Before re install I had the TV connected to the computer via a HDMI cable with no problems.

  It shows in his change map settings speakers PC as work and the default ok. It also shows the headphones and TFT TV. All these I can use independently but am not sure how to run them simultaneously.
