Horizon Access Point device - glibc patch

All,

I'm trying to get the fix from glibc installed (listed here: https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 2144090) on the access point device 2.0.1. However, I find that rather difficult since SSH does not work. The sshd is present on the device, but even after the service started, trying to SSH to the device does not work. I tried to fix PermitRootLogin Yes , on the/etc/ssh/sshd_config file, but the SSH connection prevents error'ing with the message "software caused the abandonment of the connection.

I found that iptables is not set to block anything on the device. Nothing is blocking the SSH on my internal network port to the place where the unit sits. How am I supposed to get the installed glibc fix if I can't get the rpm file downloaded on the device?

Thank you

Ended up using an internal web server (WSUS server) to host the rpm file and then used wget to retrieve the file on the device. It is now installed.

  • Of aircraft received fatal alert EUC access point: handshake_failure.

    Hi all

Does anyone know how to make local CA trusted root to view device Access point (AP)?

I do a new installation in view of the Horizon and replacement of all the as cottages bookmark for CA certificates signed. Now, I want to deploy AP and it points to a load balancer for the connection view servers. Load balancer and two connection servers all use the same certificate. I put this thumbprint of the certificate to deploy during the FVO AP and AP services begin. But I can't connect to view. In the bundle of newspapers in esmanager.log, I see an error:

[nioEventLoopGroup-7-1] ERROR utils. SyslogManager: HORIZON_SERVICE:CONNECTION_BROKEN: impossible to interrogate Horizon Broker: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: received fatal alert: handshake_failure

I did some google-ing and find what "handshake_failure" done often refers to the untrusted root certificate in java keystore. I can even locate java keystore used for the services of the unit, but can not import anything because it is password protected.

I also tried to register thumbprint of the certificate root during the FVO deploy, but error still in place. I have previously worked for installation of the view with certificates self-signed and everything worked fine (so it probably isn't an installation\configuration error).

Any ideas? Suggestions? Maybe for device keystore password?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mihhail

    Ok

    My question, my answer.

Location of the keystore, trust in the EUC access point device is

    / usr/Java/JRE-VMware/lib/security/cacerts

    Keystore password is changeit

Use keytool-import - trustcacerts-alias alias - file - keystore cacerts file - storepass changeit to import the root certificate. CERT must be X.509 format.

  • can I use a laptop to set up a wifi access point?

When I first received a laptop of opportunity in last December, a colleague tech at my night school mentioned that I didn't have to buy a 803,11 access point device to plug my switch, but I rather use a WiFi card on my computer to create my own access point. I told him I have such a card and put a little out of my mind.

However, I have someone outside to spend the night at my place, and he needs to check his e-mail. Unfortunately, it seems that the RJ-45 socket on his laptop is broken, I have tried several cables and impossible to get a connection, including the cable to connect the computer I'm using now.

Is it possible that I can use ICS on XP Pro (preferred) or Vista 32 bit Home Premium (really want to use it, I have never set the boot loader after the upgrade to XP on a separate partition, especially because XP has worked so much better) to set up enough connectivity for him to connect to the mail server?

Should I Windows 7 or Vista to do this? I know how to do the reverse quite easily (share Wi-Fi on the Ethernet port), but I don't know how to set up the SSID and others. I would assume same WEP or WPA2 (Yes, I know how it is easy to crack, but it's better that transmitting passwords in clear text because it discourages occasional interception) would too, so it will accept a connection open, unencrypted. I'll just close access once it does.

How could I go to set it up? I'm not spending money on software that is not free for one night, one-shot deal. Kiss, I just need a connection of bare bones for him. If its Ethernet port was working, I would leave him to plug my switch, but since it's not I need to create a gateway using what material I have on hand, and the only device with any kind of ability 803.11 is my own laptop.

I know it's possible, I don't know if this is something only Linux, or a solution that requires 3rd party software.

Yes, you can use ICS.  See http://practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/

    I forgot to include this--> http://www.home-network-help.com/ad-hoc-wireless-network.html

You will need to configure security manually from the properties of maps dialog box wireless (on both computers) and IIRC, you can use WEP in ad-hoc XP networks.

    Go to the correct place
Right click on the wireless adapter icon and select Properties
    Click the wireless networks tab
Click Add to create a configuration
in the 'Association' tab, set the SSID, network authentication 'Open' and WEP data encryption.
It's been so long that I made that I remember exactly, but I think you can use only the 10 digit Hex key.

  • NETGEAR D7000 - Mode Access Point - connection problems with iOS Devices

    Hello

Having a problem with my Netgear D7000 in mode access point.

My laptop (MacBook Pro) can successfully connect to WiFi and my PC connects fine cable using the D7000 as a switch.

iOS devices, however, hurt that is to get or maintain a connection - even if they connect to and then some time later they will fall the network. Go to settings shows the client attempts to connect, but seems to be stuck with an assigned random IP (not on the subnet of law), no gateway by default, etc..

iOS clients are an iPad 3, iPhone 5 & iPhone 5 c. All about the latest version of iOS.

Other access points by train (Belkin, billion) that's fine.

DHCP etc. everything is managed by my router which is a constant for all devices and access points - but I tried to change that, and he has not made a difference also.

D7000 is on the latest firmware (v28), I tried to reset it and setting up from scratch, but no joy.

    Any ideas?

Change the channel seems to resolved this problem.

  • Unable to find the access point or use any device to all wireless to connect to my BEFSR41 v4.0

Hi well the problem seems to be that whenever I try to use any type of device and try to connect using a wireless connection to my router, I can't find an access point or no signal at all of it, but when you use a wired connection, it works perfectly. For example, I'm trying to connect my Wii to the internet via a wireless connection, but I can't find any access point so that it can connect to. So I went to my router configuration and I didn't know what to do to allow a shown access point or wireless to all activity. Theres no wireless tab or whatever it is to install, so I didn't allow remote administration, but still I could not find an access point. I don't know if im just made bad or I need an update of the firmware (mine is currently 1.04.02) or what else. If the help would be nice

BEFSR41 isn't a wireless router... It is wired.

  • My Airport Time Capsule can act as a WIRELESS access point

    Hello.

I brought a Time Capsule with my Mac Pro. It worked well since yesterday.

I have set up the time Capsule as a WIFI, bypass at my local network access point. There is a router (cable) works at home.

It's my Mac Pro AirPort Utility and my iPhone, my Time Capsule is displayed with an exclamation point saying "device not found". I can't connect to the disk on this subject by afp share, or smb. Time Machine function is gone too. He failed trying to connect to the share drive from another computer connected to the time Capsule by cable network.

But at the same time, WiFi works well.

I tried to recycle energy. Sharing disk will be available. But if I start the Time Machine backup, it will not be a few seconds.

    Any idea?

    Thank you.

There are several posts here related the issue.

Luckily, you have set up your new Time Capsule for Back to My Mac (BTMM)?

If so, the 'temporary' solution is to delete/disable the option of the CCMM, as follows:

    • Run the AirPort Utility.
    • Select the base and then station, select change.
    • On the tab of the Base Station, go back to the section of my Mac at the bottom of the window.
    • If you have entries here, select it and click then the minus sign "-" button to remove it.
    • Click on update and allow the base station restart.

If you have not enabled CCMM, we have other options for you to try.

  • Time Capsule bridge and access point?

    Hello

I have a question about the network wireless of my TC. Our provider has installed a new router. These router can not work as bridge, telephone and TV are also connected to this router. Because 2 wifi networks do not work, I wonder what is the best set-up for the network? The Capsule is connected to the router by ethernet. It is configured as a gateway. Before I used the TC to connect to internet. Now, I have disabled the wi - fi function and use the ISP connection. It looks good, only backups are a little slow now.

-What is the best configuration for the TC in an existing network? So that I can put it off the wireless of the TC or the ISP router: can I use the TC-wifi (create a new network) or wifi existing ISP router to connect with wireless devices?

-Do I lose speed when I'm with 2 devices on my network: TC as the ISP as a router and Access Point.

(I always thought that 1 unit for router and access point is the best configuration.)

-Are faster backup copies using the TC wireless or it does not matter when I backup on the wireless ISP?

Some maybe stupid questions, but thanks in advance. Greetings.

Because 2 wifi networks do not work

Many people think that this is the case... but this isn't so.

You can use several wireless networks... all attached to the same router. There is enough bandwidth available in the channels wireless for the operation of 3 different wireless networks nearby each other... and using 5 GHz adds much more.

The Capsule is connected to the router by ethernet. It is configured as a gateway. Before I used the TC to connect to internet. Now, I have disabled the wi - fi function and use the ISP connection. It looks good, only backups are a little slow now.

The configuration of TC in bridge is correct.

Do not turn off the TC wireless... Provide a different name for the ISP wireless router and connect your computer... then you can get internet and make backups on the TC without overloading the ISP router wireless.

-What is the best configuration for the TC in an existing network? If I disable the wireless of the TC or the ISP router:

Turn on Wi - Fi in both.

A physical configuration, it is recommended to have say separation of 1 M (3 feet) between the ISP router and the TC to a min. But it would be even better to have the TC at near the Mac who performs backups TM and related to the ISP router with ethernet.

  • Card wireless INTEL PRO 2200 BG - don't find any wireless access point

I just try to run internet with the internal PRO INTEL BG 2200 wireless card.
The driver version is just updated to 9.0.4.39. The problem is, I can't find any wireless access point.

I also use a D-Link card, with this card, I found the available access points. What could be the problem with the INTEL PRO card. I'm sitting right next to the router/hub.

Also, I thought that I might need to activate the wireless with additional keys Fn function, but they do not work, I guess. Maybe I need a driver for this tool also. Do anyone know where I can find drivers to use the Fn keys?

    My system:
    TOSHIBA Tecra
    WINDOWS XP (SP 3)

See also: The INTEL internet LAN works.

    > What could be the problem with the INTEL PRO card. I'm sitting right next to the router/hub.

For me, it seems that the WiFi network is not enabled.
Usually, you need to activate the WLan switch which is placed on the side of the laptop. Then, you'd see an active WLan led.
If you n t see the light, then the WiFi network has not been activated.

In addition, choose the WLAN using FN + F8!
You can also activate the Wlan in Device Manager-> card Wlan-> properties-> Advanced tab.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L300 Wireless does not work in mode access point

Satellite L300 with built in wifi Realtek device.
Internet is coming from an external USB device, and I want to make wifi internal working as a router/hotspot/access point, just to connect with my cell phone.

I try to create the ad - hoc network in Windows 7 and Linux Fedora.
New network is listed in the OS cmdlets, but no SSID appears on my laptop.

Also tried with hosted network (virtual wifi adapter) and app named Connectify in Win7.
SSID appears, but is unable to connect or link broken after a few minutes without any data transfer.

Now, I came to ask me for this built in hotspot wifi device support mode at all?

If so, is there a setting I'm missing?
Or some utility runs, to check if the device is broken or have a driver problem, or something...?

I put t know who don't L300 you have exactly and can't say what WLAN card is inside but the audit model in Device Manager and try to find the specification exact Googling autour.

To be honest I really don t know if your problem has nothing to do with Toshiba directly.

    Hello

Please note that your notebook is WLAN standard card B and if your router is set to 54G only it's possible this laptop is not able to see WLAN network. I recommend you to check the settings of the WLAN router.

  • Connection of comments on the second WNR1000v3 as access point does not connect to Internet

I have a WNR1000v3 (firmware V1.0.2.68_60.0.93NA) connected to the WAN and it works well. His IP address is 192.168.0.1, subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.0.1, mask and DNS servers are on 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4. DHCP is configured to 192.168.0.10 to 192.168.0.100. I have a guest connection configured and it works well.

I have a * second * WNR1000v3 (same firmware) bound to the first as access by using these instructions: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/23784/~/how-to-automatically-configure-a-netgear-route...

I gave him the IP 192.168.0.2, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.0.1, and DNS servers again the value of Google. It has the same SSID wireless as the main router and I can move seamlessly between the two. The devices connected to the LAN ports on this access point work very well. Wireless connection works fine.

I then configured the connection even guest on the second router (the one running in access point mode) and I can get an IP address when I use it. However I can't access the Internet. Ping 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.2, and 173.194.33.137 (the IP local google.com) all fail.

Guest connection is not supported on a router functioning as an access point? Or am I missing something really obvious?

    Thank you

    Bill

@storm1985 I suspect that your configuration means that all the second router LAN ports will also forward only to the Internet. But this gives me a good idea to use another router just like an access point wireless for the connection of comments. (I seem to accumulate old routers.) Unfortunately, I don't have the time to try this out until late in the week, but I'll certainly do and report. Thank you!
