  • HOt sync - Tungsten E2 for Vista

I had hot, synchronization successfully for some time, although often when I turn on my laptop Vista out, the dates on the calendar disappear.  But as long as I could hot sync with my handheld, it was a minor inconvenience.  But now, apparently, something's wrong with my Pocket PC, because it won't hot sync on my Vista laptop or on our XP desktop (which we used to do).   He gets to the extent of the '2' on the date of transfer of book and then freezes.  When I cancel, also well on the computer and your handheld, it freezes and I have to turn both of them off the coast.  I tried a warm reboot, then a partial hard reset without success.  I hesitate to do a hard reset because I have years of dates on my handheld it is essential to keep.  I'm not aware that I changed the settings on the handheld when it used to work. What can I do?

I don't know what happened, but when I went in Palm Desktop, this time, my schedule is back!

Thank God!   Maybe the dbfix doing something after all.   Thanks for your help.

  • Tungsten T3 Hot Sync in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and WIndows XP mode

I've upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and now my Palm T3 will not be synchronized.  I downloaded desktop 4.1.4e 6.3 and 4.1.4. I tried all three in both windows 7 and windows XP mode that tells me is a 32-bit o/s but I'm really not sure.  I tried to hot sync in bluetooth in windows 7, as the T3 and laptop connect but he always tells me that the port is used by another program? Does anyone know what I have to do to get it to sync or am I've sentenced to throw my faithful T3 out? Any ideas?

Hello eaglesfan723 and welcome to the forums of Palm.

The Tungsten T3 HotSync driver is not 64-bit capable, this is why you can't get the T3 to HotSync.  Please read this thread to learn more about your options with Windows 7.

Why can't you "enter again the software disk"?  What does that mean?

  • So, not Hot Sync

Hot Sync decided to not to work this week, after a year of no problems.

Starts to work and then gets to the calendar and freezes. Computer has lost most of the calendar information (but some remain), PDA has reproduced some. Fortunately, my contacts all that remains.

I use a Tungsten E2, Palm 6.2.2, Hot Sync Manager 7.0.2 Windows XP Home Edition.

Have you tried re-loading of software, soft re - configure etc. Looked at the other entries on this site, but none saw exactly the same problem. Cannot open a session on the section of CAT on the Palm web site (off screen).

    Help!

You can contact the Palm Support by clicking on the Support link above and navigate to your device.

If Hotsync is stalled at a particular conduct, you can try to diagnose the problem is defining what in particular leads to doing nothing, same handheld computer replaces Desktop (or Desktop replaces pocket... According to which one is more current).

In addition, these Hotsync problems can be caused by corrupted or damaged files.  A remarkable (and free) utillity called DbFixIt is available for download on www.pimlicosoftware.com.  He works for free to detect and allow you to delete the corrupted records.  For a registration fee of $13, it can also repair damaged documents.

If you don't the have not already done so, I suggest also that you go through the Palm Hotsync troubleshooting, linked below support article. It covers the causes and the and of solutions for the vast majority of Hotsync problems.

    Are what update you referring?

To perform a hard reset: (Palm Knowledgebase article #887)

By now the power down button, press on and release the Reset button on the back and continue to press the Power button. When the gray Palm logo is displayed, you can release the Power button.

You should now see the warning in 5 languages page. Press the direction upward on the 5-way keypad to perform the task. The Palm restarts several times as it re - install the original programs and erases all data from your previous.

  • Try to get my Centro to Hot Sync with my new Dell with Vista!

I just bought a new computer and assume everything I had to do was download the latest version of Palm Desktop 6.2 and outlook 2007 and plug it in with my USB and click on the hot sync button. I get "driver software for your Palm Treo 680". My phone is a centro (I use a palm Treo 680 USB cord, but it worked on my last computer). It is said, insert the floppy disk provided with your phone, but the disk is not moving the problem at all. Any suggestions?

What version of Vista?  32-bit or 64-bit?

If 64-bit, you cannot synchronize via a cable.   There are number of threads of instruction at the top of this section relating to synchronization with Vista64.  One possible way is via BlueTooth or Infra-red...

I am hving wrong when I try to sync (Tungsten E2) to my computer.  My computer has Windows 7.  Anyone know a solution for this problem?

Probably, the problem is that you have a 64-bit version of Win7.

At the top of the list of the messages in this section, you will find a title "64-bit Windows USB drivers for Palm Desktop."

Please read this post and follow the directions to install the drivers of the company Aceeca.

  • HP Pavilion 14 inch laptop: Palm M500 hot sync with 8.1 Windows 64 bit

I have installed my software Palm Pilot M500 (from the original factory CD) on my HP Pavillion Lap Top. However, the hot sync fails and I get the following message: selected The COM7 Port is not available.  Hot Sync Manager will open port when it becomes available. »

Suggestions, how can it clears and the hot sync enabled?

It is a system of exploitation of 64-bit Microsoft Windows 8.1.

    Thank you

    You will need to:

    1. install Palm Desktop 6.2.2 (search for one of Wyrenut sons, where he links to it, a recent reshuffle of the forums by HP removed the stickied thread that kept the top of this forum where it was easy to see);
    2. Install the Aceeca 64 bit drivers (also doing a search here for synchronization with windows 64-bit); and
    3. install PalmHotsyncSetup of www.pimlicosoftware.com , which should make your M500 more compatible with the latest Palm Desktop.

    Good luck.

  • Sony clie hot-sync with Palm desktop on Vista (32 bit)

I got my Clie TH-55(Palm OS 5.2.1) for some time now, say 2 years, but recently, I made the switch to Vista (not by choice, I got a new laptop for free). I had been synchronize my CLIÉ Palm Desktop and so when I got my new laptop, I went and download desktop 4.1.4e in the hopes that I could continue the sync on vista. The installation went well, it is, I can do a hot sync but none of my data transfers. If I create a new contact on my handheld, it will not be displayed on the desktop and even vice versa. When I check the hot sync log, it says that there are no errors. I didn't know if I should go to the forums of Palm or Clie forums so I apologize if this is no longer a Clie problem which should be in the forums of clie. Thanks in advance...

I found the problem, it had to do with the running of the Office to palm as an administrator. Once that I thought that was the problem, I put it to always run as administrator.

  • Hot Sync does not

    When I try to Hot-Sync, that's what I get:

HotSync operation ended up. Some of your data was NOT saved.  Out of storage space during the update of database-MemosDB-Mmtp-abandonment sync.

How can I fix it.  The Palm OS system is BEST done planning, I can't live without it.  Thank you, Michael

One thing you might try (if you have not already done, sorry if it has been discussed in this thread and I missed it), is to make a "uninstall own" Palm Desktop, followed by resettlement.  Then Hotsync.  Take a look at this thread.  It is to change your computer's registry, so be very careful.

I don't think that the amount of data in your calendar is the issue, despite any errors that you have found.  It seems more likely that there is corrupted data.  But it is handheld against his memory capacity?  Check by typing the time in the top left of the main screen of Launcher to open the Menu, and then tap Info which will tell you how much free space is on the device.

Try to hard reset the device, and then restore from NVBackup.  HotSync and see what happens.  Data in NVBackup, as long as you don't accidentally erase good backup, you're always minutes from restoring your data and try something different.

6 appointment of Pimlico Software will allow you to purge calendar events more than any date you choose.  So you can unload on the handheld calendar events that have more than, say, four years and keep everything that is more recent.  6 appointments is (was) probably the best, most versatile and most awarded third-party Palm OS application.  Last time I looked, they were offering it at a discount.  There is probably also a free trial, but I've not really looked at who lately.

  • Double list appointments on nursery hot sync

For some reason, my hot sync hangs up on the Agenda because it is listed twice and therefore allows to synchronize the first and stuck on the second and I have to finish with the Task Manager and unplug the Centro to break out of a loop is in.  It comes from start so not sure what is happening.  Worked fine at first. If anyone can help... I have a Centro and am using Windows XP Pro and try to sync it with my Palm Desktop.

Only a configuration option for each pipe in the hot Sync Manager so I can not uncheck.  Finally, I went in the chat room and ended up after a lot of time to do a hard reset and it seems to work at the moment but double pipes still show in the hot box sync so it can reproduce.  Thanks for all your help.  I can just pay for the dbfixit and try that again.

  • ZIRE 21 hot sync is not compatible with vista 64-bit program

ZIRE 21 hot sync is not compatible with vista 64-bit program - apparently it will work with 32-bit vista.  Is there a way to create a 32-bit only for the Zire 21 program without compromising the rest of my 64 bit OS computer? That's what Microsoft sent me. The help for this program was created in Windows format help, which was used in previous versions of Windows and it is not supported in Windows Vista.

For more information, see Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe) is no longer included with Windows on the Microsoft Web site.

    Laughing out loud

You cannot change part of a 64 bit of Vista in 32-bit OS.

32 bit and 64 bit OSs are completely different operating systems.

    See you soon.
