How fast your imac boots?

Hi guys!

Just interested in how fast your iMac boots (as the minutes and seconds) until your first open application is fully sensitive? I end 2013 iMac 21.5 "2.7 GHz intel core i5, 8 GB of RAM, running El Capitan and it feels long enough. Also after the commissioning of the applications such as Chrome and utorrent open very slowly. After that, everything works fine.

I am curious and just started my Mac, a little old 21.5 inches mid-2010 i - Mac. I was curious because she feels slow to start sometimes, however, I was pleasantly surprised with the Dell laptop, my employer has provided me with (but it is bogged down with a lot of security software). The Mac has a 3.06 GHz core i3, 12 GB of RAM and runs OS X 10.11.6. It is a standard unit of an Apple store close to November 2010.  It took 88 seconds to load the office then another 8 seconds to load a web page. Then I opened the mail and I was 1 min 43 seconds by the mail of synchronized time. It doesn't have a HD 7200 RPM, which helps, but an SSD would be probably faster (I thought to start from an external SSD but the processor is getting pretty old, I can be close to need/want of a new machine). The Dell takes a little more than twice as long. Up to what speed (slow?) your machine starts?

  • How fast can get a TCP read?

LV 2009 + WIN 7 with 6 GB of Ram.

I acquire two analog channels as a word of 16 bits each and adding a CRLF at the end example: 1234 567 \r\n

These data are acquired to 50ms intervals and sent over a link WiFi for my notebook running code LV.

I know not how fast the "TCP - Read" function can work and which mode (it has four options) to choose if I do not miss any incoming data...

Now I get some data in French - initially rather quickly and after a few seconds, it slows down the consdierably. I'm running the TCP-read inside a timed loop and I tried various intervals from 10 ms to 500ms. The largest value works OK, but I need the fastest possible. Tips how to handle this?

My code is attached. (The passage DIO works very well)

Even if the passage DIO works, it doesn't make sense to use a sequence structure.  It would be better to change the Standard mode and the 100ms Timeout value instead of "wait for next"millisecond"Multiple" as leading to uneven wait times.

TCP Read should run very quickly, subject to any waiting period that you set.  You should never lose data in any mode, although there is a possibility to receive a partial when you use Standard mode or immediate (unlikely in your case since you read so little data).  The operating system will be buffering of data not read for you.  If you want the fastest possible exchange, divide your code in two while loops, one for EID and the other for the series.  Serial communication can be simply a normal life while loop, with the reading of TCP dictate the timing.  Set a long timeout in buffer mode and the loop will run as quickly as it receives data.

Also, when the loop ends, you must close TCP connections, not just one of them.

  • how fast windows 7 should start up

how fast to, I have a dell 760 optiplex running windows 7 pro 64 bits 8 gig of ram I terrabyte or hard drive, can someone tell me how fast it takes to start, and after the start page were the windows logo is, after that the screen should it go directly to a blue welcome screen or should it be a black screen before

    John

Depending on your system anywhere from 20 seconds to 3-4 minutes.  No way for us to know because you didn't don't give us all the specifications of the system.  For example you have a SSD?

It may be 30 seconds after the logo screen until the desktop becomes visible.

If you think it's slow, you should check which takes over at the start.  Suspect, that you may have added a lot of software that starts unnecessarily

  • How to change the boot order in Windows 7.

I have a 64-bit operating system and I'm trying to remove windows 7 and install Vista. When I press F8, I take to a screen that does not allow me to change the boot order. If Windows 7 keeps on loading and the DVD are never read. How can I change the options, then the boot order is changed and the DVD are read and I can install Vista.

    Help please.

    Hello

Check with your system manufacturer support, their books online and ask in their forums (if any).

Configuration/settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 as you start then look at the screen that will tell you how-
the order of boot on CD/DVD drive everything first. Some systems use F12 or other keys to allow a time change
    in the boot order.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to upgrade the boot loader?

    We have a Cisco SF300 - 48P 48-Port 10 / 100 PoE switch with Gigabit Uplinks.

In the documentation for the new 1.3.5.x firmware, it says:

"Before the upgrade to version 1.3.5 the bootloader must also be updated. If 1.3.5 version using the initial boot loader, file system is not updated to level, and in the future the user will not be able to upgrade to versionshigher than 1.3.5. »

How to place the boot loader?

I see nothing in the documents in order to establish what boot loader there.

We are currently running firmware 1.3.0.62.

    The statistics page says:

    (Image Active) firmware version: 1.3.0.62
    (Non-Active) firmware version: 1.1.2.0
    Version of boot: 1.0.0.4

What is the best way to properly install this firmware 1.3.5.x?

    Thank you, Tom

    Hello:

Darren is correct, that you need to update the boot via TFTP code. His instructions are correct for when you get the TFTP server defined and loaded file in it. There are many free TFTP server applications on the net that you can download. One of my favorites for Windows is TFTPD32 (or TFTPD64 for 64-bit machines). There are both free applications Mac but I don't have that I use.

Once you have a TFTP server installed on your machine, place the file with 'BOOT' in the name of the TFPT Server directory. Directed by Darren: go/file management and select backup/upgrade the Firmware, go to "via TFTP' and select 'Boot Code.' Put the IP address of the server or computer that runs the TFTP software and the name of the file and apply the update.

Reboot the switch and the bootloader is now updated!

Then follow the normal procedure for the upgrade of the firmware: go to the file management /-> Firmware Upgrade / Backup-> "via the HTTP protocol' and find your firmware file and apply.

  • How do your 5s iPhone on iOS 9.3.2?

    Hi all

I have been using iPhone 5s since iOS 7. Now, it runs on iOS 9.3.2. I found no problems with her performance so far. But the only thing that bothers me is his stand-by battery. 3G, I can be able to manage with only 9 hours (including messaging, regular use of music, calls, games, not all the time). With Edge, I can handle up to 12-13 hours. I just want to know how is your iPhone 5s?

    RAM

    Hi Ram,

I noticed this also. I decided to activate low power Mode using Siri as often as possible. To do settings go to battery and csn you turn it from there. I'm waiting for an update where Apple will allow it to automatically turn on!

    Hope this helps,

  • Satellite A660 - how to specify as boot drive eSATA

I'm going to make a clone of my HDD bootable resident to a 2.5 "SATA in a connection to the laptop via eSATA box. I restarted my computer and press F12 (or F2 for BIOS) to see how to select the boot order. The devices listed are:

    HDD/SDD
    CD/DVD
    FLOPPY DRIVE
    LAN

How does an eSATA boot? He explained in a technical forum that eSATA is considered "internal" and the A660 can start on it.

    Post edited by: Bookworm123

    Hello

The BIOS of Satellite A660 supports booting from eSATA.
    The following devices are supported:
    -USB FDD,
    -Primary HDD/SSD,
    -Optical devices,
    -Network (LAN),
    -supported with eSATA

I guess you will need to connect the boot device to the eSATA port before turning on the laptop and start the boot process.

  • How fast can I send using SPI commands in a NI8451 of python?

I use SPI communications with NI8451 leave a python code. I want to know how I can increase the speed at which I can send orders? and what is the maximum that you can go. I'm developing an application in real time if I want to continue to read the data as soon as possible.

I don't think that there is a way to overcome this, since the selections of line and to update is completely made of material by the microcontroller inside the 8451. The rate at which data is sent to the microcontroller depends on how fast the code on the hosting platform is running and the time it takes for data to cross via USB (which can be ignored).

  • the variant attribute value - how fast it is?

    Hello

There were days OR presentation on attributes of type variant. There are example saying that variant can be used to remove duplicates from table 1 d and this supposed to be a very quick solution. I did some tests and it seems that is not:

On the other hand the variant is very fast research once all atrubutes are implemented.

My question is how fast is being variant attributes and how this structure variant is allocated and stored in memory.

    Excerpts from VI attached.

    LabVIEW manages memory for you.

However, if you make too much reallocation of arrays of surfaces, you might run out of contiguous memory and thus running out of memory, memory fragmentation can cause problems.

  • Upgrade of RAM i7 540 how fast can the processor actually use

I just got a 540 and I want to know how fast RAM i7 processor is able to use to my advantage. The BIOS can deal with setting parameters at a higher speed of RAM?

Second question, the system tolerates 1.3V RAM?

Standards JEDEC and Intel Haswell only supports 1600 MHz CL11 at 1.35v

You can install RAM more fast (probably up to 1866 MHz depending on availability), but it might speed up to 1600 MHz.

Note that faster RAM installation also slightly increases the temperature of the CPU.

Don't lose sleep on it, you hardly notice the difference anyway.

Before I forget, do not install any RAM with a voltage higher than 1.35v.

  • HP 6470 b 2nd hard drive upgrade. How fast this port works on? SATA I, II or III

HP 6470 b 2nd hard drive upgrade. How fast this port works on? SATA I, II or III

I want to put in a 60 GB SSD into the CD slot and want to see how fast it will support as this will be used for the Cache

    Thank you

The published information is not explicit; He says only: SATA for the expansion Bay while the main hard drive Bay expressly says SATA-III. However, given that this isn't just an optical drive Bay, but also a general 'Bay expansion', it is safe to assume it of on the same SATA bus as main drive and is a SATA III interface.

    Data sheet

6470b is also supposed to have a slot for a WSSD mSATA, but he is not described in the Manual:

    Manual

Obviously the WSSD would work better for cache but you can use a 60 gig SSD in an expansion bay for both cache adapter. Even if the connection is SATA-II, it will be much faster to work for a cache of acceleration.
