How much faster 16 GB 1600 RAM will be more 8 GB 1333?

I get just in the business of video editing, and I'm still finding my bearings. I just built a computer for use with the first, but I think to upgrade the ram have little more. Currently, I have 8 GB 1333 (4x2Go), and I see this first uses almost all of it. That grows in my video, im worried my ram will become more of a bottleneck. Is it wise for me to update my 16 GB 1600 ram (it should cost me about $125)? im just tired of playing with hardware components at the moment, but if he's going to provide a performance histaria gain I'll do. It's my building right now:

Core i5 2500

simple 2 TB drive (please don't kill me, I know im supposed to do an entire raid configuration, I don't have the time to do, ive got a huge delay to come and I don't know the first thing about raid, he prolly do after that)

Gigabyte gtx 470 overclocked Edition

OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W

I will do the entire raid thing at some point (hopefully soon), claim that I have a decent Setup on this front.

I usually change the raws 1080 p 30 / 60 fps, btw.

What do you think?

Your i5 2500 is probably an important bottleneck and very probably more than the 8 GB of RAM.

Upgraded to an i7 2600 k will give you twice the effective cores (adds hyperthreading "nuclei") for the treatment and accelerate many aspects of CS5 or CS5.5 (assuming that you have one or the other).

From 8 GB of RAM, 16 GB of RAM might help a little, probably for the most part with coating once a project is completed. This is useful, but I suspect that you are suffering with a normal use of 1080 p on the timeline and timeline with your current configuration.

You can use the Task Manager to see where your bottlenecks are; If the CPU usage history shows that you use 95 + % of your 4 hearts for those times where you feel it lacks performance, CPU power is probably your most important bottleneck.

About your big date limit, you can buy additional disks and simply share the load (i.e. projects, cache of media and media cache db on the files on another, scratching still one) for the performance immediately; then, once you have completed your project, you can configure the new drives in RAID 0 and have first rebuild the cache and scratch your files to the new RAID 0 array.

  • HOW MUCH FASTER?

Closer (if possible) percentages, please advise or just give me a rough idea: HOW MUCH FASTER IS WIFI at a SPEED of 18 Mbit/s and the QUALITY of the SIGNAL VERY GOOD (four out of five bars) compared to 18 MB/s SPEED and QUALITY of the EXCELLENT SIGNAL (5 bars).  I noticed fluctuations in continuous - even up to as high 54 Mbps and as low as 11 Mbps, but the signal is mainly around VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT in quality (i.e., four or five green bars) Notwithstanding the comings and goings, I use the WIFI N Protocol adapter (library, cafes hotspot, etc.).  Yes, sometimes, I moved to another part of the library, coffee, etc., but if not I can try improve the quality of signal and speed? The laptop is enough recent manufacturing (2009 or 2010), with 3G of RAM and 300 G hard drive and Windows VISTA.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

It is likely to be only differences of minimum speed in these scenarios, if she would have certainly depends on
the WiFi network that you accessed. Even if the WiFi signal you receive hard there may be a slow
hose connecting WiFi to internet and/or a large number of computers sharing access.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to ensure that the new RAM will be compatible with my computer?

    Hello

I have a PC that I want to put a new RAM in. I know how to insert the RAM. But y at - it a chance it will not work and will not work.

The PC is a desktop computer and Win XP Home. I hope that upgrade to Windows 7 if it is successful. 512 MB of ram currently.

Kingston and have all two Crucial fairly complete memory configurators

http://www.kingston.com/worldwide/default.asp - use the drop-down list upwards to the right called "research paper."

http://www.crucial.com/?click=true - start with the drop down "select the manufacturer."

You have your motherboard manual? That should tell you what memory is compatible.

Or failing that get back to me with your motherboard brand and model or brand of PC and model and I will be able to help.

  • New version of Premiere Pro (CS5.5) - that is how much faster?

It seems that it is a new version of first Pro CS5.5 now,

    See:

    First Pro CS5.5 is here...

One who has executed the PPBM5 using the new software, please post any pre/post results of upgrading CS5.5 comparison you might have. Surely I'm not the only one wondering how fast this new version is!

    Thank you

    Jim

The problem is NOT CS5.5 (although not directly) it's the way we had built PPBM5.  If you take a clip of your choice and encode MPEG2-DVD, you will find that CS5.5 is faster than the CS5, here are a few figures of 3 second 1 minute full AVCHD clip with color correction made four different ways with all the same presets on my fast machine

Direct Export first 5.0.3 174 seconds

Through the sequence of import SOUL 5.0.1 142 seconds

Direct Export first 5.5 seconds 103

Import sequence through SOUL 5.5 seconds 96

You see it's 5.5 first which is faster.  We think we know what the problem is with PPBM5 but don't know how to handle it without essentially invalidate all current non - 5.5 partitions (in other words, we will have to have a separate test and results page) whenever a new version of first pulled in the past, we had to make changes and start all over again.

  • by how much can I put the ram disk prosecor hard ofe e-system1201

    Hello

You should seek support from the system manufacturer (manufacturer of motherboard for customized systems) and
    their forums.

Usually there are restrictions on which processors can be used in any specific motherboard.
So, you may not be able to use a more powerful CPU without changing the mother.
    The Board of Directors.

The memory can be maxed out at 1 GB or you may be able to add more new according to
on the capabilities of the existing motherboard. Of course, if you have changed the motherboard
in order to use a processor more fast then you need to add memory to even
time (and it would be different speed memory so older memory would probably not work
    in the new motherboard).

Hard drives are available on 3 TB today and you can have multiple of any size. Check
with the manufacturer of hard drive available for your system and the version of the recommendations
Windows. Make sure any drive you select will fit in the case which is generally not a problem for
    a PC but it's for a laptop.

    1 terabyte = 1024 gigabytes

Keep in mind if you do a lot of the upgrade, it may be cheaper to buy a new system. Then
you would have two systems of work.

    I hope this helps.

  • How much from 4 Gig of RAM to 8 Gig would help my efforts in PE11?

    Greetings

the topic on says.  Sometimes my desktop computer which has Windows 7 struggles with difficult things I ask in PE11.

I have 80% use dedicated to PE11 using the edition/preferences However sometimes that is not enough.  You mind I have

have overlooked the fact that when I finish editing an image, closed record and return to the organiser, the organiser

seems to think I'm still editing.  Seems to be a lack of standard in the interface between the editor and the organizer who has been

well commented on in many other places.  If all goes well (fingers crossed) will be fixed in ss12!

    Thus, the amount of RAM?

    Sincere greetings

    Jim

From my own experience (4 GB on an old PC 32 bit Vista and 8 Gig on a Win7 64 bit), the PSE11 is more responsive, but it's maybe the most powerful processor. Go to 8 concerts does not help PSE11 in itself (it is a 32-bit application that cannot address more than 3 gigs), but if you have other software at the same time (web browser, music player), it's a good thing.

  • Host SSD cache - how much required

recently installed ESXi (free) to use domestic test/study. ESXi starts on the USB.

I have 2 SSD for storage, a 1 to for VMS and a 64 GB for the cache host.

How does the host cache requires? I ask because I would like to use a part of the disk cache host to a dir on it to store ISOs of the OS I want to install on the 1 TB drive and test.

ESXi host does not host any-cache. The power of virtual machines. How many? Depends on how much you commit too host-RAM. If you do not commit too much RAM, you need not the host cache. And if you book all the vRAM to virtual machines, you do not have same virtual machine swap file (with vRAM booking 100% it will not be created).

In the worst case (when commit you too much RAM, no work of sharing/compression/balooning and all virtual machines all use the vRAM you assigned to them) you may need to host-cache of size SSD:

    'summary_of_vRAM_assigned_to_all_VMs' - 'host_RAM_available_for_VMs '.

But if your host-cache SSD is smaller, it will be used anyway. And when it is full, 'normal' permutation will be used (with VM paging files).

  • How much disk space for RT OS

    Hi all

RT OS (office) has a problem: If the disk is full RT OS does not start.

So I have to limit the volume of output of my RT application file to a reasonable value.

To do that I read the free space on the disk with the start of my application (via GetFreeDiskSpaceEx), so that I can enshure this MY apllication will not write more data than the amount of available space (for example by removing old data).

But I don't know how much space the operating system disk will need during the race.

Can someone tell me a value to calculate with?

    Thanks in advance!

    Yeti0815

A general rule is that the OS needs about 25 MB of storage for temporary files, .ini, similar persistent storage files.  Don't suck your consumption below 25 MB and you should be able to minimize your surprises.

NOTE: This figure was obtained empirically by not-so-very rigorous tests.  Your mileage may vary.

  • HP Pavilion n012tx: how much RAM can I add to my laptop? If I do it myself, it will go out of warranty?

I want to increase the RAM of my laptop. It has a 4 GB of ram that is not able to handle some tasks.

    1. I was wondering how much memory can I add to my laptop?

    2. what will be the cost of improvement for a chip of 4 gb of HP service center?

    3. If I do it myself, if my laptop is out of warranty or not?

Please write a reply only if you are sure.

Good news for you. The memory is expandable to customer. There is an easy access on the bottom door. See page 47 here.

    Manual

You can switch to 12 concerts by adding a 8 GB module in the empty slot. Adding a 4 GB module might actually be good too because the memory will run in dual channel, which is a bit faster. Not too many tasks really need more then 8 GB of RAM.

This is the number of HP part 4 GB module you need:

Module memory 4 GB (PC3 12800, 1600 MHz) 691740-001, which looks like this:

2 things are important. It is memory (DDR3L 1, 35 volts) low voltage and low density because of the 8 black blocks. Be sure to get the type of memory, so it's guaranteed compatibility.
