Pavilion ab032tx: double keyboard press

I have the HP Pavilion 15 laptop - ab032TX.

The keyboard is funny stuff when I try to type some special characters.

For example, when I press on the "^" (Shift + 6) key secret, nothing appears on the screen.

When I press it again, two of the carat characters appear.

1. press SHIFT + 6

[                    ]

2. press SHIFT + 6 new

[^^                  ]

or

1. press SHIFT + 6

[                  ]

2. Press any other key (example b)

[^b                 ]

The same thing happens with the characters

'

and

"

Hello

Thanks for the reply!

However, I found the solution to my problem, just after the posting of the question.

My solution:

Go to the control panel-> clock, language and region-> language

For the language 'English (India)', select the input method: keyboard as "English (India).

[Earlier the layout of the keyboard is "United States - International"

who supports probably typing in German, Spanish and other languages.

The problem was solved by using the configuration of the English keyboard (India)]

  • Pavilion 15-p079no: HP Pavilion 15-p079no keyboard disabled

I posted this first portable other issues, but it seems that is better suited for her

Hi, I had this problem with my laptop (HP Pavilion 15-p079no) since yesterday. I don't really know where the shoe pinches.

The problem is that the keyboard stops working after that I connect with the computer. Before you connect (Windows 8.1), all the keys work perfectly well. However, after the signing, they stop working. When I try to press a key, the computer lets a little voice from the speakers, this pretty much signaling that the computer recognizes the keystrokes, but just do not do anything.

I doubt that it is a hardware problem, given that the keyboard works perfectly fine until I have decide to open a session. But what causes the keyboard disabled, and how to activate this new?

    Hello

As the keyboard works until you connect, check the following.

Open windows control panel and on the top right, next to the display by: select "large icons".  In the new page layout, select the "ease of access Center.

Select the option "make the keyboard easier to use".

If there is a check mark next to 'Turn on filter keys', click the box to Remove , and then click apply and then click Ok to save this change.

    Hello

Maybe it's a hardware problem, but it is always worth trying the following.

Open windows control panel, open Device Manager, expand keyboards, right-click on the "Standard PS/2 Keyboard" entry and select uninstall.

When this is finished, stop the laptop.

Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.  Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

  • Pavilion 550 179na: keyboard, typing letters multiple even if only 1 key

I bought this computer a week ago and I use the keyboard and mouse that came with it.

The keyboard started typing a letter multiple times, even if the button is pressed only once...

Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening please?

    @GillyB

Assuming for the moment that is not in some cases associated with other problems that you have experienced, that you have installed / updated the drivers of HP, and that your operating system is also includes itself (lots of "If this and that"), then the following could be useful to help you adjust the keyboard settings.

    • First of all, try to simply set the keyboard for "repeat rate":

Control Panel > display icon > Ease of Acess > make the keyboard easier to use >

Scroll down and click on the keyboard settings > adjust as you wish

    • If this is not enough - or does not provide the kind of response get you, and then run:

Control Panel > display icon > Ease of Acess > make the keyboard easier to use >

Check Turn on filter keys > adjust settings to find the one that works for you

  • HP Pavilion 15: mouse keeps pressed after that I have let go?

Whenever I have press and hold the left mouse button, on the right or way to tell, select text and I let go of the mouse button, it will continue to carry on doing the thing, it was already. Then I have to click again to stop. I used different mouse on this computer and then used on another so I know this isn't to do with the mouse. In addition, sometimes my "@ will redeem randomly and I don't know how to change it back.

    Hello

For the issue of the mouse, check the following points.

Open windows control panel and on the top right, next to the display by: select "large icons".  Since the new layout, select mouse, and then select the tab buttons - make sure that the "ClickLock" box is not checked - if it is, click on the box to remove the check mark and apply the change.

For the second question, it seems that your switching between input methods (IE switching between US and UK keyboard layouts) - you can manually switch between the methods of entries by holding down the Ctrl key and pressing the SHIFT key.

You can also disable this shortcut, if you wish, as follows.

Open windows control panel and on the top right, next to the display by: select "large icons".  In the new page layout, select language, and then click Advanced settings in the left pane.

Under the heading "Switching input methods", click on shortcut bar change language keys.

Highlight the vertical entry "between the input languages" and then click on the button to change Key Sequence.

Under the heading "Switch Keyboard Layout", select not - click Ok and then click apply and then OK in the previous window.

    Kind regards

  • Pavilion G6: HP Pavilion g6 laptop keyboard suddenly doesn't and can't start BIOS

    Hello

I have a laptop that had not been booted in perhaps over two years. Startup, it seemed to work OK. In particular, he has no problem with the keyboard. The only thing that could have triggered a problem is that this hard wy wife shut it down by holding the power button. Boot once again the keyboard does not work.

External keyboards work fine. The touchpad works very well. Interestingly, the keyboard function keys work fine for the deactivation or activation WiFi, setting screen brightness or volume, change the display and so on.

There is a prompt when the powers of first system on the effect of something like "press F1 to system information.

The system information screen then loads if you press F1.

This screen then ask something like "press Esc to exit. Sometimes pressing ESC works (especially if I just removed and replaced the battery) and other times it does nothing and I have to use an external keyboard.

This means that I can't enter the BIOS by pressing ESC just lance Windows.

I tried upgrading the BIOS. In Device Manager, everything looks OK, but the keyboard is reported as a PS/2 keyboard that seems a little odd.

    Hi @Mark_OB,

Thanks for getting back to me.

As you say what happens before Windows starts, so I did not thing is drivers.

The last number on the document I sent you show how to remove the keyboard and clean it.

Please try and get back to me.

  • HP pavilion dv7 - 4283cl keyboard shortcuts to turn off the system

    Greetings,

I have a client who has a "HP Pavilion DV7 - 4283 CL Entertainment Notebook"; as such, she stated that she allows to turn off his laptop by pressing CTRL + RIGHT ARROW keys (three times).  Now all of a sudden she said that this does not work.  Being a tech since 1980s guy, I have a good amount of stored keys combo; but it is a new in the drop-down list and the show.  Someone at - he already heard of this combo?

    Thank you

    Jim

    Hi Jim,.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I saw your post on the CTRL + arrow keys to the right as a shortcut to stop. I never heard that either. If it uses Windows 7 maybe she hit the Windows instead of CTRL key, because if you press Windows and then right arrow would sleep to highlight and the Enter key could put the laptop to sleep. It's the only thing I can think of.

    Thank you

  • Pavilion P6-2378: keyboard driver

Hello, I have just completed an update of Windows 8 and lost the on-screen order of volume that would normally show on the upper left of my office to win 8.  I was wondering if someone could provide me the SoftPack containing the keyboard for my Pavilion P6-2378 Desktop system driver? I already watched all the drivers available, but the keyboard driver wasn't there.  Thank you in advance!

Hello, I, m you just answer myself (to see and help) that I found the answer to my problem in a previous post.  Most of the credit goes to:

Dunidar, who said the previous displays the following:

"I understand as your controls audio keyboard are disabled and you are looking to reactivate without performing all of the computer." You should be able to restore by simply reinstalling your Audio drivers. You can do this by downloading and installing the IDT High Definition Audio Driver for your computer. »

So I uninstalled the existing driver and reinstalled the original driver of the HP pilot area.  I have also told me on another site to run the following batch program after the installation of the driver and before a reboot:

    off @echo
departure of kbdhid sc config = request
    output

This helped my keyboard volume controls and volume screen to work.  The batch program, run before a restart, has also worked to restore the volume on-screen display when the keyboard volume buttons still work.
