How navigationMovement the Storm

Hi guys.

I don't have real device BB Storm. I guess the movement of the navigation. But I don't understand how.

I think that to make this on BB 8800 and other devices using navigationButton.

My application uses the navigationMovement method, because I wonder about it.

Thank you guys.

Hello

Maybe just more specific in your request? What exactly you want to sail on? If you are using screen all key events are handled automatically for all fields added on screen. If you are using full-screen, you must implement the method {touchEvent (TouchEvent t) of field class.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how can I STOP the storm looking for new e-mail messages?

I've had the storm for a few days now, and it's my first BB, so maybe it's why it looks like such a simple question.

Here's the question: I created 3 accounts on the storm, and they work fine. However, when I'm at work or at home in front of a computer (which is most of the time) I am not interested in having the choice of the storm to the top of every email that I receive because I'm reading them on the computer and then I have to delete them on the storm. I would like to be able to check your email on the storm only when I want, but I can't seem to find the setting that will allow for this.

    A little help, please!

    Thanks in advance,

    -M.

I have a similar situation as you and there is a way to stop the emails any time. Go to the full menu and open the installation folder. Open here the e-mail configuration. Your email accounts will appear in the upper part. Highlight the one you want to temporarily stop and pop the menu and select filters. There are two options. Foward messages on device and do not forward messages. Do not transfer the right choice. They then record at the bottom. You can create a shortcut on the home screen moving the installation of e-mail folder if you can access this option quickly on a daily basis.

    I hope this helps.

  • tilt event on the storm

This may be a simple question and answer elsewhere, but here goes.  How can my program know that the (storm) unit tilted? I hope for some event types and to endure, I can use the event handler to redraw all my items screen to reflect new dimensions of the tarp.   Something like a listener of filed amendments attached to every change in tilt.

    Thank you.

There is no "tilt event", but your sublayout() method is called when the unit switches from portrait to landscape (and vice versa). This gives you the opportunity to rearrange the fields to accommodate the new screen real estate.

  • Help with some internal specs on the STORM. May require a person who works at the RIM.

    BB STORM, JDE 4.7.0

I was usually the champion of the size of the memory, and I thought I got it down pat, but it turns out that I see different values in some disassembly of the hardware of the storm.

Can someone help me to y and the degradation of persistent memory Vs file in the permanent internal flash storage area.

OK, here's what I thought, it was internal so far.

1 internal 128 MB of RAM for running the show, allocation of memory, etc, etc...

    2. 1 g internal Samsung OneNAND flash memory. It is divided into 128M of space of the App and 872 M of storage space.

The storage space is divided into persistent storage and the rest is an internal file system.

    3. Finally, there is 8GBits of the space of the SD card.

OK, here's my new questions on memory.

In 2 above, is the 1 G bytes or Bits. I used to think bytes, but teardowns latest I read all say Bits. If so, it means that we have memory app 16MBytes! So the question is byte or bit?

The next question is the 872M (bits or bytes)... How is burglarized persistent store file Vs space. Is it preallocated or no change of line based on what he gets used? If it is fixed, can the line be forced to the persistent store. Can it be forced into space from the SD card?

Finally, is again the SD card in bytes or Bits? I suspect the pieces, but I don't know about you. I don't know what MoviNAND.

Note that if you are new to this, please don't answer, I'm not new, and I went through all the usual web sites. I just want to hear from those who know with certainty because they actually measured it with a code or they talked to someone on the EDGE. I heard all the 'I think there' and they do me good. I actually send you this email to myself and several other people. Many of us need answers to these questions.

    Thank you

The BlackBerry Storm has the following:

    • 128 MB of RAM
    • 128 MB of Flash memory for installation of the application (file COD) and store persistent store.
    • 1 GB internal memory for storing files (FileConnection & USB stick as support).
    • Support for micro SD card up to 32 GB * of size for the storage of additional files (FileConnection & USB stick as support).

All values are in bytes, not horseshoes.  It is not possible to install applications on memory storage of files, nor is it possible to store persistent objects in the file storage space.

  • Why the soft look so different on the Storm

I have a very simple application.  Just an ObjectListField which takes up the entire screen.  It looks good on the "BOLD" curve / / etc., but on the simulator of the storm, the app takes about half of the screen, the other half is taken up by the virtual keyboard. In addition, there are the strange blue border on the sides of the screen and a little one on top.  How can I get my application full screen and looks like other applications of the storm.

    Hi again rgelb1,

This KB article has all the different ways you can accomplish this. If you add values to the JAD as specified, they will stay there even after subsequent generations / clean. They will only be deleted if you manually remove the JAD.

Best wishes and hope, this fixes the problem.

  • App turns on the storm

I'm stuck and I write as a last resort.

I created a simple calculator application that works very well on all devices. My only problem is that when running on the storm, it does not (Simulator or device) when the device is tilted. My application is published in 4.0.2 (despite the existence of edition JDE 4.7 does not make a difference).

Can anyone suggest reasons this would happen? I tried searching the forums, but all I get is messages on how to stop the rotation, which promotes the beliefs that it should automatically be turning.

If you are compiled on 4.0.2 as you claim, then your application will never shift.

    Compile under 4.7.

  • Questions about the storm of scrolling

    Hey all,.

I'm currently porting a project I wrote for Trackball BlackBerrys above storm using the API 4.7.  I'm having a lot of problems with scrolling.  In my project of trackball, that I have three screens that need to scroll and my version of Storm none of the screen are the scroll correctly.  I hope I can get some advice on what needs to be implemented on the storm to get the scrolling to work properly.

    Overview of the main issue:

I have a screen that has 3 managers on that.  On this screen the upper and lower managers need to stay in the same position on the screen.  Middle extends from VerticalFieldManager and contains a large number of custom fields (varies depending on the field how much user generated).  Each of these fields is focusable.  The constructor for VerticalFieldManager calls:

    Super(Manager.VERTICAL_SCROLL |) Manager.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR);

On the Trackball version just scroll with the trackball to select all of the fields that has been added to the screen.  On the storm version scroll doesn't work if you select a field that is partially hidden.  Once you use this to achieve you cannot select fields that are not on the screen to start (i.e. everything that is below the initial load of the screen).

The functionality of typical scrolling where you just touch the screen and move your finger up and down does not at all.  If you do this it simply changes with a focus on the fields that are displayed (to access any scrolling, you must select a field that is partially off the screen or behind the Fund Manager).  I have a NullField which is active at the top and bottom of the Manager, but it still will not allow me to scroll.

If anyone can give me advice on how to fix this I would really appreciate it... I can't seem to find any documentation that implements really shows how to properly scroll on a storm.

Thank you in advance.  If anyone needs more information let me know.

    -Spencer

Corrette, you set the scope to 80% of the screen.

Virtual measurement must be set to the actual height (i.e. the total height of all the fields)

  • BlackBerry smartphones get Word memos into the storm

I have Word .doc memos I want on my BB Storm. How can I get them there?

Hi and welcome to the forums!

You can use a PC for the transfer of information between the PC and the media card.

Basically you focus for the BB and PC USB. Don't use office

Manager. Go to 'My Computer' on the PC and the BB will be displayed as a flash drive.

Then you can "drag and drop" files on the BB.

Use the following settings in the option of memory of the storm:

    Card support ON

    NONE encryption mode

    Media transfer protocol WE

  • BlackBerry smartphones using the storm on the international scene

One of the drawbacks of being a Verizon customer for me in the past was that I could never use my device during stays in holiday trade.

But now that I have this incredible storm with a SIM car built in... I have reason to think I should be able to use this device on the international level?

Someone at - it no experience or knowledge of how I'm going to do? Is it fair to assume that I what would also have access to the data, or am I asking too much?

The storm should work in more places than on any other device you have.  Don't forget to connect with Verizon's global service (there is information that comes with the phone on, its special service and they have an international number) and make sure that the phone is enabled for international use.  THIS IS CRUCIAL.   You can also ask them what countries they take over.   Essentially the SIM card that comes with the storm's of Vodaphone, so does anyone have a joint contract with Vodafone should work.

When you talk to Verizon, tell them that you spend long periods abroad and you want to use other SIM cards in your phone.  They will be open to you.  So, if you find a place that does not support the agreement of vodaphone, you can pick up a local SIM card and put it in the BB. Of course, then you don't have a local number, but then you have something.

For now, my lessons learned: whenever I need to edit or delete a recurring appt, I do it from the computer so I do not get locked out of sync to the storm.
